Love this place! I'd been here after my bestie McKenzie had suggested it in years past. Pro tip- find yourself friends who don't gate keep great yoga studios.. don't worry, I got you too! I don't remember it having been heated in years past but i love a little sweat. Maddy and I came here last Tuesday after work and then again this morning on a Sunday am. They have lots of great class options but 11 am Sunday flow was definitely my favorite.. I mean what better way to end the weekend? The music in class was amazing and the focus on movement to breathe totally set the tone for the rest of the day. If I lived in SF, I'd definitely become a member. They have a few different locations and tho I have yet to check any of the others out, if they're anything like SF YOGA FlOW on Union St, I'd highly suggest! I paid for the $35 intro week for unlimited classes through MindBody. I really liked this yoga studio! Very spacious, convenient times, easy to get to, & I have nothing bad to say about any of the different instructors I tried over the course of the week! There is a nice water fountain inside which is a perk as well to refill my bottle with cool water after a hot yoga class. There are pockets of the room which are slightly hotter & cooler during the hot yoga classes which I really appreciated. read more

Yoga flow is an awesome second story studio with large windows, natural sunlight, and a solid heated vinyasa flow. It's also a very popular spot, as the classes are packed (even on weekdays) with around 15-25 people per class. I would recommend getting there at least 10min early to check in and secure a spot. Yoga Flow is also an inclusive studio, spanning from beginners to advanced instructors practicing, an almost even split of female/male participants, and gender neutral bathrooms! If this is your first hot yoga class, I would advise you to a bring plenty of water and a towel. The front desk also rents out yoga mats, towels, and sells drinks if you forget anything. There's plentiful cubby space to place your belongings in before class, and they lock the studio during sessions so that you don't have to worry about any of your items being stolen. These classes remind me of C2 Corepower Yoga Classes: focused on fast paced flows, stretching, and balance. The only reason I rated it as 4 stars over 5 is because I personally enjoy higher intensity cardio workouts. But this might be exactly the studio and class you're looking for :) read more

I was in search of a new yoga studio when I came across the $7 for 7 deal at Yoga Flow - great pricing and beautiful studio so I was eager to start. Walking in the studio was very nice, essential oils wafting through the air, clean, and and the studio was set at a comfortably warm temp. My first class wasn't bad, the instructor was kind - cared to learn names, helping clients with adjustments. However my second time, was not a great experience. The instructor's (Molly Barber) phone went off multiple times during the experience, she had no idea how to transition through different movements, and the studio was temp was so high that multiple clients had to step out of class or they were going to pass out. Even when ending the class, it was abrupt and kinda awkward. I am determined to try and find an instructor I like here and will come back since I still have my new student deal, but honestly - I would probably not want to come here, especially for the usual $30 for a class. read more

Bright and beautiful studio. Unfortunately there's only one mirror wall and not everyone is able to use it during class, so if you're someone who likes to check your own form you have limited options for where to put your mat down. The class flowed nicely and kind of quickly. I was already working up a sweat only 15 minutes into class. I'm not sure that the sound system was working because the instructor had a mic piece on but I couldn't tell if it was working. Her volume wasn't very loud. I was in from out of town for a big conference & found this studio using Yelp! like I tend to do when I'm traveling. Took Hot Vinyasa Flow classes throughout the week I was in San Fran. My first class with Brie at 6:45pm was so amazing, that I came back the next night to take her class again. The space is nice and hot, feels around 100 degrees. The room is spacious and it seemed full, roughly about 20+ people in the space, but we still had room to move in class. Brie's queue's were fantastic, I easily followed her instruction without needing to look around to see what other people were doing. Also loved her music, it was a hip, loungy, chill playlist that I would expect to hear at fun spot in Miami or a rooftop bar. Her flows were challenging but pushed just enough, while offering lots of modifications for all levels. I also appreciated that the studio sold yoga clothes, since I only packed one workout outfit. I was able to buy a sports bra and leggings, which I wore the next night. The studio was very clean, the staff were delightful and I'm already sad that I won't be able to take Brie's class again. If I have the good fortune to come to San Fran again, I will def return to this wonderful studio. Dare I say, it was the highlight of my trip! (Just don't tell Salesforce I said that) read more

I used to love Yoga Flow. I was a loyal yogi of theirs for many years. Prior to covid, I purchased a package of classes. There was no expiration date outlined for the classes I purchased. Then covid happened... when things finally started to become normal again, I noticed the package of classes I had purchased had disappeared, so I reached out to the studio. Trish then explained that they had expired. I then forwarded her my original receipt to show that there was no expiration date, which I already thought was outrageous considering the restrictions due to the pandemic. Her only solution was to offer me one complimentary at-home session. Disappointing is an understatement. read more

Yoga Flow is a nice yoga studio. Today, I found this studio charming. The room we were in held about 7 people and I was in the studio late. It was 60 minutes of vinyasa led by a young Asian woman. She played the harmonium and tried to have a calming experience. We did some yoga poses and moves that I had not done before. It was interesting and I did want to take a break. You know I have ADHD for yoga, but I am still motivated to do yoga and try all these SF yoga gyms. This one was on Union Street and Laguna. I brought my own mat to not rent. They have another room and heated yoga. It's an intimate, fun studio that isn't too busy. I would visit this yoga gym again on Union Street. It's not snobby. It's a good yoga gym! Wow, after months of not doing yoga, (I know, it's a shame. No excuses.) and entering this yoga studio to do vigorous vinyasa with music, heated yoga, it was reinvigorating! I was in the neighborhood and the time to drop by for a much needed session, was convenient timing. The things that I know I needed, was finally laid down on my yoga mat for the rest of the day. It was a great de-stressor and gave me more of an awareness to my body and mind. I adore the sweat and poses here. The instructor leaves you to do the poses, accordingly. I opted for the all levels and boy, did it keep me moving! It woke me up as in why haven't I been doing yoga for myself? Note to self: push to do yoga! It will all be worth it. I feel much better and relieved on my shoulders to carry on for the rest of the evening or day if you decide on the morning sessions. I dropped in, so it was 20 for the one time class and 2 bucks for the mat. I like the recessed windows that you can see out to plants. I didn't look up, but right at where I placed my yoga mat, and when it came time to lay on my back, there were sunlight windows to see up to the starry night sky. My mind twinkled when I stared out to the shiny stars in a dark blue sky setting. After a long day and an hour of leaving this studio almost home, I realized I left my norm of what is usually on my heavy shoulder and freaked out...a part of my life - career laptop. At that moment, I received a missed call and voice message. Guadalupe, who is one of the staff and helped me sign up, called and figured that it was me who left my lifeline. I'm truly done with another yoga studio culturally appropriating the practice. I took Erin's class this morning and have taken her class a few times. She's VERY clicky. She chats with the same few girls in the front row before every class, and doesn't bother getting to know anyone else. She rarely gives assists and screams through her mic over her blaring music. I do think she is a good teacher but ending with "I hope you're having a good life" at the end of each class sounds fake and impersonal. What if I'm not having a good life? This Marina studio comes with its typical Marina crowd. The girl next to me had her CELL PHONE chillin' right on the corner of her mat during the entire class, lighting up with texts totally getting me out of my zone. The women in here are full of Botox, filler and fake boobs. It's a joke, really. Libby and Anna have boring sequences but their classes are always full. This goes to show that the students attending are looking for a quick fitness class, most don't even stay for Savasana. There is ZERO spirituality in any of these classes. The Pad on the next block is much of the same but I guess this is what you get for the Marina. I'll make the trek to any of the yoga tree locations, with master teachers before I come here again for convenience. read more

My home away from home. Yoga Flow Union is the most beautiful space with the most thoughtful staff and teachers. I've been a member for almost 3 years and feel very connected to the space. Tara, Erin Gilmore, Brad are all incredible - Brad got me into yoga with his flows that invite you to try new things and have a sense of humor, Erin feels like a therapist or life coach (thank god for her), and Tara's cues mean you're sticking to your breathing all class. There's more diversity in a give class in age / type than you'd think for the Marina! Classes are warm to hot, but not insanely so. read more

A hot yoga place that doesn't smell- I AM IN! I love the concept of hot yoga for myself but I have always had an issue with studios not being clean enough or super smell because people sweat buckets, but I never have had that problem with Yoga Flow SF. I studio itself is a love spot, surrounded by greenery and a glass roof. I love coming to class early and just lying down and staring at the sky with leaves rustling around. The lady at the front desk is great. The instructors are amazing, they have a soothing voice that I appreciate. You need to pay for a mat ($2) if you don't carry one. They let us participate at a pace that you are comfortable in but do guide you if they see room for improvement. Most of the attendees are good at what they do, but being a budding yoga enthusiast, I don't feel out of place here. Also the convenient location just aides the fact that I will surely be back for more hot yoga without paying the stench price :P read more

Do not come here if it's your first time. The studios are heated - but not too hot. Beautiful skylights and friendly staff. Libby now has a following that spans outside of the Bay Area because she is incredible and creative with her teaching style. I have even went on one of here retreats and HIGHLY recommended them!!! Wonderful instructors (looking especially at Anna, Lindsay, Erin!), beautiful surroundings (floor/ceiling windows, corner lot on Union St, second story studio), complimentary water / oranges, easy check-in, all the things to love in a neighborhood yoga studio. Minus one star because the studio insists on overcrowding classes. 50+ people in a hot yoga studio is not relaxing and there's definitely not enough blocks / accessories to support a crowd that large when the instructor calls for such sequences. It's also gross and unsanitary when people's sweaty clothes get in your area (often just one inch between mats). Which brings up the last point: regardless of class time, come prepared to sweat with a towel and heat-friendly clothes. There's always puddles of sweat from many people during class; having grown up in 100 degree heat I still end up dripping every time. read more

When it comes to yoga, it usually takes me a few classes to really get a feel for the studio. I like to experience most of the instructors and figure out whether the studio is a great fit for me. Having said that, my review could change after attending more classes, but for now these are my initial thoughts. The large studio is spacious with hardwood flows and windows surrounded by beautiful green trees. My instructor was late for my first class. I never experienced an instructor being late, but I understand circumstances happen. I was disappointed that the room wasn't hot and the practice wasn't challenging enough. I'm assuming that most of their non-peak classes are like that, but I wish that they could give us a notice in their schedule. I eventually returned for a Sunday morning all levels class. The room was packed and the heaters were turned up. One thing that bothered me was the lack of space. I felt claustrophobic and didn't have much space around me, which hindered me from doing certain poses. The vibe was upbeat with great music. The class was the right amount of challenge with of planks, twists and even ab exercises. read more

ClassPass brought me here, but this is the first studio that moved me to purchase a class pack outside of my membership. I just can't get enough. I remember my first class, Saturday 11am with Tom Lee. I didn't realize it was heated (moderately), jam-packed, and fast-paced. 2 things I didn't think I would enjoy as a beginner yogi. Now having advanced my practice, Yoga Flow remains one of my favorite studios. I love every instructor. They each have their different vibe and approach but always a just-right challenging practice that can be adjusted despite your level. It doesn't hurt that there's a certain cool factor about them that I find both inspiring and beautiful. I've had Lindsay, Erin, Libby, Julia, and Kat...each has her own unique vibe. LOVE. The music is great, the energy and sense of community addictive. Even the students who come here give off a really good vibe. Yes it gets crowded but there is something about moving together with everyone in such close proximity that makes me give my all in each class. Though yes, classes feel maybe 2-3 people overbooked...because it's hard to move comfortably sometimes. Be it a class to kick off or close out a day (and always a good # of attendees,) I always leave refreshed, exhilarated, and looking forward to the next time. read more

A friend of mine told me that Yoga Flow SF on Union St. had great teachers and was a great little yoga studio. In setting New Years goals, I was determined to get back into yoga and after a week I'm already feeling the results. I took advantage of the $25 week for new students and attended three classes in that timeframe. My favorite teacher/class was with Anna at 6:15pm on Tues/Thurs as it's a heated class and she's such a delight. Plus, she has an incredible voice and plays a mean harmonium. I really enjoyed beginning and ending the class with chant...puts me in a good mood. One beautiful Sunday afternoon, my friend, Kitty and I strolled down Union Street, browsing in stores. While walking up and down the block, we discovered the aha yoga studio. I grabbed a brochure and decided to attend the 6am Hot Yoga class with Inez the following morning. Monday. The studio is clean, front area is inviting and cozy. My first 'hot yoga' experience was awesome... I loved it! I've taken both Ashtanga and Bikram classes in the past and hot yoga falls somewhere in between. There's the heat (~100 degrees) and most of the postures are Bikram inspired, but the teacher isn't like a drill Sargent because there was definitely no yelling of "lock your knees, lock your knees, LOCK YOUR KNEES!" or push "until it hurts!" Yoga teacher had a very calm voice and made sure I didn't lock my knees and that all postures were comfortable -- she encouraged making it my own practice... Two other things that I really like that makes this studio unique is the yogi cat; friendly and does some cool yoga poses during class. The other is the sweet oranges with rock salt that's given at the end of class -- it's a nice, healthy reward for a great workout! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, they have childcare available, too. I signed up for the introductory rate of $10 for 10 days with the idea to attend as much as I can for 10 days. Unfortunately, I only attended one class because of my schedule, but hoping to come back again soon. read more

Class itself: Pretty poorly taught. As a yoga instructor myself I may have high standards but I felt that the all levels heated yoga class taught on Monday nights was really bad. Firstly, the instructor wore a mic, like it was some sort of jazzercise class with loud music that would even necessitate a mic.Second, for the majority of the class, I saw her propped against the shelving in the center of the room as if she was like, kicking it with a friend on a super casual outing to the club or something. She did not provide assists nor did she observe students for inaccuracies or confusion. Lastly, the queueing in the class was just downright bad.Things like "move into your easy twist" are not a proper queues and it is of the utmost importance to tell students what body part they should be using and where they should be putting it/the movement. This did NOT occur. Maybe stay away from Monday nights? While I strongly disliked this teacher specifically, I didnt grade the whole studio down because its just one of I'm sure, dozens of teachers. Studio: super rad. Small with only two studios, the space is super cute and offer complimentary oranges and water. There is a small retail space and the studios themselves are like, 3/4 windows which is a really fun and unique space to practice in. And, they have a studio dog! So cute. read more

I went to the 2p Saturday one-hour power yoga class and it was pretty chill but I was still a "good" sore the day after. Parking is a pain here! So get here early if you're going to drive. read more

I love this studio! Every class I've taken here has been great- they offer both heated and un-heated classes so be sure to read in the description what you're booking so you aren't disappointed. The unheated studio can hold about 12 students tops and the larger studio holds about 40(?)ish students. The classes are always packed. If you don't like being close to a yogi neighbor something to consider as you may be the victim of a couple of loose sweat beads. I've always found the classes to be challenging, and accommodating to all levels. The instructors are great to provide more advanced options while making everyone feel comfortable with whatever level they're on. You can also "pick your poison" and choose classes that are 60,75 or 90 minutes long. Enjoy! read more

Following my most recent yelp review, both Kathleen the owner of Yoga Flow, along with the studio manager reached out about the upsetting miscommunication that took place a few days ago. Happy to report back that, I have a better understanding of what had unfolded, and a new found respect for all parties involved. I really appreciated Kathleen's genuine care and concern's about what I had experienced. And it allowed me to see where and how the miscommunication in their policies had caused the mishap. Very much respect Kathleen's regard for the value that she wants to create in her studio, and the experience of each individual coming to YogaFlow. I can only imagine the challenges Kathleen faces of making Yoga Flow profitable + also accessible for everyone involved, and have way more compassion for their policies and procedures to keep things flowing. Previous Review: There's a ton of yoga studios in SF, some better than others, but overall, I go back to the same studios for the value add of feeling at home and knowing that I am going to have a super strong and grounding practice from coming to my mat. I was/have been practicing here regularly for the past 9 years, and over the past 2 years, I have noticed a shift at Yoga Flow. Lots of prices changes, the operations folks are snappy and not accommodating, and the studio just became a gym/business. Because of that, I started to check out other yoga studios in SF, and was super impressed by other studios with encouraging and welcoming studios such as Yoga Tree/Love Story Yoga etc. This review is NOT about/for the Yoga Instructors, ( Cos Tom and Anna are still my faves ). read more

I love this studio and go out of my way to come. Erin is my favorite teacher and I try to get to as many of her classes as I can (love her energy, the music and the challenge) but I'm finally branching out and trying some new classes. The studio (at Union) is beautiful with tons of natural light and always heated nicely. Nothing beats a 6am class and waking up with the sun as its rising. My only reason for removing one star is because I'm not sure how a beginner yogi would fare here. From what I can tell, there aren't many beginner classes on the schedule, which, I don't think is bad in and of itself (and every studio is different in their client base), but some of these classes might be a little intimidating to someone beginning their practice. That said, if you are new, show up early and talk to your teacher. They will generally go out their way to help with modifications and most importantly (IMO) is the concept that it's *your* practice and that you should always be modifying when you feel the need. Highly recommend! Prices are reasonable too. read more

I was a Yoga Flow regular pre-pandemic and am slowly getting back into the groove of it. Yoga Flow on Union is a lovely space--lots of windows, nice facilities, and it typically doesn't get *too* hot. The instructors are always quite good, and if you try out a few instructors' classes you're likely to find a few whose vibes you really like. I've been to a few other yoga studios in SF and Yoga Flow is my favorite. The classes tend to be pretty athletic but they don't feel "mass-produced" like CorePower. I'm so glad that YF was able to weather the pandemic--although I do miss Martin's weekday evening classes! read more
