I have been practicing different types yoga off and on for 25 years or so and have taken classes in many studios. I now practice Iyengar Yoga to accommodate a variety of physical changes which have occurred. Without having to go to the Iyengar Center in LA, I am able to get excellent instruction from Cara and Yarden. Cara has studied with the Iyengars in Pune and updates her knowledge regularly with instructors in the US. I feel safe practicing with both of them. It's so easy to take a class at this studio; I don't have to bring my own mat, blanket, bolster, strap or blocks. Cara has all of the yoga props one could ever think of to accommodate different needs. The space is clean and bright and the students are friendly. The props are in good condition and always clean and students make an effort to make new students feel welcome. read more

Yoga Upstairs is a small studio with high quality instructors. It is tucked away in a quiet business complex, away from busy streets or loud commercial activities nearby. The studio ambiance is very calm and clean. Good parking lot. We are especially fond of Renee's Tibetan Bowl Soundbath - Restorative Yoga and Reiki sessions. Renee also offers excellent HathYoga both in-person and remotely. Cara offers superb Iyengar. Yoga Upstairs is an excellent studio both for novice and experienced yoga practitioners. My yoga class with Michelle was absolutely fantastic! She's an amazing instructor because she knows so much about the body and how to resolve issues like back, shoulder, and leg pain. As I am new to yoga, she was very patient and gentle. She helped guide me through each pose while helping me focus on my breathing. I used to go to the 5:30 Hatha Yoga class with Chandra on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It was great. She really would focus on every student, correcting them if need be. The classes were small, and though I was one of the few males in attendance, I never felt out of place. She was very friendly and would stress the importance of modifying poses if you had any injuries. I would have continued going, but I joined a workout group with my co-worker at the gym. I would definitely recommend this studio for anyone interested in a yoga class! read more

I have been coming here for the last two months and love, love, love it! The studio is immaculate and is a bright, beautiful place to practice yoga. The classes are wonderful and the teachers all really focus on teaching to the various levels. I personally love Julie 's classes in the mornings. At night (7-8:30 T/Th) Paula's classes are fantastic and she is very tuned in to what individual students need. This studio gets five stars for everything! read more

I used a groupon for this. It was my first time doing yoga. The good news is that I learned a lot about Yoga, but the bad news is that I'm at another studio now. This studio is way too small. The way it is laid out is very awkward. There is a room filled with props that you need, a very small hallway where you are supposed to leave your stuff, and then the yoga room. There is hardly any room to walk back and forth. There is no room to even put your shoes on. Personally I found the original instructor for the basics to be really good. I liked her a lot, but I decided to try a different type of class and the instructor told me it was not for beginners and that they were going to wait for us. (My friend and I were going together) Overall, I appreciate learning Yoga there and learning about Yoga and I've been doing it for more than a year now. Their location is hidden and bland but the inside of the studio is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The classes were small and probably one of the best adjustments and classes I have ever had. Small personalized instruction with very cool committed and dedicated instructors, many class options throughout the week, and great guest instructor events from time to time. Every instructor I had was graciously helpful to a first timer, and everyone in every class I attended was helpful and supportive. Fantastic facility. I practiced for a month here with a Groupon and really enjoyed it. Sri Hari Moss is an excellent instructor. However, his classes run very full and one one occasion I left because the class was just too packed in. My favorite teachers were Paula Fortunato & Robbi La Londe, who provided exceptional instruction in a relaxed and peaceful environment. Their classes tended to be less cramped as well. For those of you concerned with overheating, I recommend attending an earlier class, away from the windows. Thankfully, They appeared to keep the air conditioning in check & used blinds to deflect the afternoon sun. Overall, a fabulous studio. One which I would have continued with if it was closer to my home. If you live in the Agoura Hills/WLV I would not hesitate to belong here. The ambience and instruction are both fantastic and the monthly membership is relatively competitive. I had a great time, you will be missed! read more

I am so thankful for this yoga studio. It was the first place I went to after having a couple of surgeries on my ankle. I did not know how I would feel being in a smaller studio. But, I love it. All the teachers are caring and always ask how my ankle is. They help my alignment with different poses. It's the most welcoming community. A lot of times I come out of there sweating and wobbly legs - they just shook for an hour and a handful of minutes getting back into shape - but, I have the biggest smile on my face. You don't have to be a pro and you can be an absolute beginner and have the same great experience. Some of the teachers I have taken are Sri Hari Moss, Danijela, and Bita Peck. I have such an appreciation for them. Hope to try all teachers soon. read more

I've been practicing yoga for 13 years and was excited to try Yoga Upstairs with a Groupon. It's a very sweet, quiet and unassuming location within a business park and the yoga room is cozy and intimate. Everything is very clean and orderly, so you feel serene as soon as you enter. I've taken a few of Sri Hari Moss' hatha classes, which were amazing, and an Iyengar class that Gina subbed - both of those teachers rock! I've also taken a few other classes and teachers and, although I personally didn't connect with them as much as Sri and Gina, they seemed proficient and dedicated to their practice (this is the only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars). I would absolutely recommend that anyone searching for a yoga home in Agoura try Yoga Upstairs. read more

We stumbled across Yoga Upstairs after they had a local deal. Living in Thousand Oaks, this is not the closest studio but it is worth driving here to enjoy a great space with some wonderful instructors. This studio is just like Cheers. Everyone knows your name and there is a great sense of community. You are not going to find that at your standard pilates studio or regular gym. Another plus is the fact that they have an awesome selection of props including the 3 minute eggs which are these cool oval yoga blocks. Also this is the first place where I had a chance to do hanging child's pose and use the ropes on the wall. The fact that I was able to experience something new after practicing yoga for over a decade, was fantastic. Great studio that is worth going out of your way to join. read more

My sister and I have been attending Yoga Upstairs for a few months and have been absolutely loving the experience. The classes are varied so you can easily find one that fits your comfort and ability level. Even if you are in a class that is a bit over your head, the instructor's know how to adjust the poses to wherever you are the most comfortable. I also love all the props they have available. They have mats, blankets, bolsters, chairs and blocks for the students and they are always clean and well kept. Also, the website is easy to sign up for classes and keep track of your attendance history. My favorite thing about Yoga Upstairs is how much better I have feeling physically and how much better by alignment has been since I've started. read more

I bought a Groupon for this studio, $30 for 20 yoga classes and have loved it so far! I have been attending a 5:30 Hatha Yoga class with Chandra on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to the small class sizes, Chandra is able to provide every student with individual attention to ensure they are getting the most out of every pose. The Hatha class seems great for beginners as well as people who need a refresher for their yoga practice. read more

This yoga studio is amazing! Not only do they demonstrate the pose but they also show you what not to do. I did Bikram yoga for 2 years. This is way better. I first found out about Yoga Upstairs through my Mom. However, I was somewhat skeptical about trying yoga, being that I have always been an extremely athletic individual and viewed Yoga as more of a lazy persons pastime. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!!
