The first time we camped at the yogi bear in Pierceton it was in July in 2018. We were welcomed by everyone that we were camping around. It was such a great experience we bought a lot on Saturday just two days after staying there for the first time. We have now been there for two years and we can't have been happier with our decision to buy a permanent lot. This is the best campground we have been to. The people are all nice and friendly. The staff is helpful and we go out of their way to help you. Just about every weekend there is live entertainment and activities for the kids to go along with a theme for that weekend. The restaurant has specials everyday and specific weekend specials to go along with the themes. We can say that the camper rental sites are great. You do need a golf cart to get around this campground is huge. Two pools, miniature golf, beach, huge playgrounds. They rent golf carts right at the campground. If you want to rent a pontoon or a boat or a kayak you can do that also. The other reviews here do not take into account how great this place is and how awesome it is to stay

Some of the rules not being followed are no motorized wheels such as mopeds, ATVs, GOLF CARTS etc., no rugs or mats, and quite times. Also, the store is rarely open during the week so don't expect anyone to be there when you arrive. Another rule indicating there are fees for guests visiting, but don't worry about it because the store is RARELY ever open. Just let your guests through when they get there. The website states that they have kayaks, banana boats, row boats, and paddle boats for rent. We saw two kayaks out behind the store, but that was it. The sites are small and not well marked. We watched a bigger rig struggle getting into their site because there was already somebody on both sides of them. From what we saw, no personnel are ever going around on a golf cart seeing how things are going. The bathhouse is in dire need of upgrades, and the splash pad is run down. It only runs when the temperature is 85 degrees or higher. It just feels like the owners are raking in the money but not concerned with day-to-day operations.

Everything was clean and very well maintained. The staff was very friendly. They also wonderfully accommodated late arrivals leaving the paperwork and instructions in the lobby. They also have nice grounds and a nice looking pool. Spots are well marked and easily accessible as a pull-through. They had full hookups for everything you'd need. They had good Wi-Fi to boot. I cannot say enough nice things. A really well run place. We liked this place enough that we altered our plans on the way home to intentionally stop here again.

After 3 phone calls over one week, we were able to get in contact with them about the additional fee. The staff and management were exceptionally rude especially Missy, who introduced herself as the manager. Initially, they said it was a pet fee that wasn't mentioned before our stay. Then, Missy claimed that there was dog urine left on the floor of the cabin, so the fee was a detailed cleaning fee. Not only was this untrue, but we actually left the cabin in better condition than we found it by cleaning out trash found under the beds that did not belong to us and wiping out the refrigerator before leaving. I would highly recommend avoiding this campground.

And they aren't electric, they're gas...so they're loud. And to top it all off, apparently this place thrives on allowing underaged and unlicensed individuals to operate them. And they operate them well above the posted 5.5 mph limit. Stop signs also appear to be merely a suggestion. Additionally, the majority of the carts have incredibly loud sound systems installed on them. So what happens is, you have wreckless youth speeding around at all hours blaring tunes they think others care about. It is not a safe environment for walking dogs, taking a family stroll with kids, or even riding bikes. Quiet hours mean nothing, the playgrounds, and putt putt course look tired, and the "beach" is an abysmal pile of dirty sand with what appears to be toilet water for swimming. They only get the one star review because both pools are nice, the bath/shower facilities were clean, and because the staff was friendly. I can't, in good conscience, recommend this campground to anyone. Save your money and go someplace that respects real camping.
