My husband and I decided to rent a cabin here during the summer. It was the worst mistake. The pools were disgusting! The cabin was disgusting! I could barely stand to shower because of the roaches in the bathroom. The place had terrible hygiene overall.

Old old old and hardly kept up. The alge on and near the pool deck is absurd. The chalet we are staying in is very outdated and smells. It definately needs some scrubbing. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of one is because of the multiple activities they have for kids throughout the day like t shirt dying, coloring a pillow case, and bingo! The prices are relatively cheap for food and drinks around the pool also - thank gosh. I sure paid enough for the chalet and what I recieved with it (which by the way - is no towels or bed sheets, bring your own)

Where do I began to start!!!! The place was a DISASTER!!! Very filthy the staff was very friendly and helpful but the place needs to be shut down for cleaning and renovation... in my cabin which was CT3 had trash under the mattress, dirty stove, mold on the ceilings in the bathroom, the floors were filthy, cobwebs EVERY WHERE!! The place smell as tho mold is inside the wall. Bugs yes BUGS crawling on the beds not sure if they were bed bugs because I have never experienced that before. Long story short my family didn't stay we left the same day went back the very next morning and got a full refund. Spoke to the owner Mr. Leblanc whom was very defensive and seemed upset because I complained but quickly humbled himself once I told him I had Videos and Pics!!!! Oh and the pools omg ring around the pools dirty water no chlorine in it trash weave socks rocks you name it it was in the pool, Don't waste your time or money.... your health is way more important

I was debating on whether I should write a review on this place because I'm embarrassed I even visited. About 25 years ago my Honey said he visited this place as a kid and IT WAS REALLY FUN!! So he books a cabin for a couple days last week. We arrive. I immediately check out before we check in. If it wasn't for my honey's nostalgic travel plans, I would've ruined the whole mood and told him exactly how unacceptable this place was. I spent the majority of our check in day bleaching the floors and trying really hard to cut the urine and whatever smell they had going on in there. It was horrible!! We spent much time devising a plan on what to touch and how to touch anything in that room. I think I spent more time in the ranger station, dollar general and Roberts supermarket than the park. After speaking to the clerks there we've come to the conclusion that the vision died with Maurice. The clerks explained the insurance and floods turned this park to crap which makes sense bc it was definitely a crappy place. The kiddie splash pad was filthy. Putt putt was blah. Fishing was pointless. Canoeing and kayak pond was swampy and the ends were full of trash. Oh per park rules, don't put holes in the canoes. Every charged event was severely over priced. $20 to paint a bear is absurd. The blades needed to be changed in the snowball machine. The only redeeming parts was the pools, $1 bingo and there's a full size fridge. Popeyes is 9 miles away so that's good too. Oh and the water slide was interesting only because there was nothing else to do, so we pour more money into the dying facility. We lots of time riding around so he can show me where things once were. Oh the a/c had a mind of its own. One morning we woke up to 63 degrees but the a/c that was set at 71 degrees. One night the heater kicked on in our room. Dining bench was outside and there were flies everywhere!! Funny funny.

    There blood everywhere

This place is great! They have skinheads on one side and new black panthers on the other side! They constantly have gang wars! If you're looking for a thrill this is the place for you!

No wifi, pools, mattresses, pillows, pool area all disgusting. Nothing new in years.Courtney, Nick, Katie, Jacob Jessica were great

Place is disgusting. The pool is gross, the tables around the pool have been broken for years. Cabins are never updated, same disgusting pillows and terrible mattress.. Owners are idiots to think they can keep this going.. Food stand by the pool has sweet ladies but there cabinets are falling apart and you can see how moldy everything is in there, Miranda was serving me and the cabinet fell off the hinges. Poor kids have no AC in game room.. The maintenance guys think duct tape fixes it all, fire them all and get 2-3 real workers to improve this place. Some great times can be had at this place but the owners don't want to spend a penny it seems... Employees were super friendly and helpful, if they didn't know the answer they got on the phone to find out the answer right away. If it wasn't for there helpfulness we would have left the first day.

Park was decent with lots of activities for the kiddos. Lots of space between campsites, full hookups, easy access, plenty of room for vehicle. Bath house was clean. Water in shower backed up several inches. People driving golf carts were obnoxious. Drinking, driving too fast, some blasting music. To the lady who complained about the bugs...Really? You are camping, in the south no less. If you don't want bugs go to hotel. I used Skin So Soft and a bug candle and had no problem. 3stars only because if carts and loud music from pavilion. Didn't go to pool. RPI member not sure of park price$

But at the end of the day the only real problem was a group of local 40-somethings on TRT with their 3 pit bulls who were camping together in a group of 6. They basically hung out all day in lawn chairs getting hammered in the driveway section of their site (directly across from our site) basically just being d**ks. (there needs to be some sort of rule about pit bull kennels operating in a campsite)... But after they left, this RV campground became more calm and worth exploring and enjoying. There is a small lazy river, a large pool and a poolside bar. There is also a decent workout room available 24/7. The lakeside location of several camp sites was the draw for us, as was the evening entertainment while enjoying a few drinks. The campsites are all immaculate full hookup with excellent concrete pads. There are both back in and pull-throughs to accommodate most size rigs. It's only about an hour to New Orleans, so a sight-seeing trip there is easy to do. Very convenient to the I-10. Glad we stayed and we'd likely stay again when passing through.

However, our cabin unit was dirty upon check-in, delivered linens had dead bugs, kitchen and beds had live ants, and there was visible mold in the living room. Our toddler has severe allergies and I am pregnant...so our concerns were warranted. Upon reporting the issues, front desk was not apologetic or seem to take the comments seriously...therefore we are disappointed considering the rental was $1150 for 3 nights and would recommend overall improvements in cleanliness.

There is a lot of open ground between the rows of slips giving you a sense of open space. There is another campground section in the back where the boat ramp is with some space to park your vehicles with boat trailers. The facilities are well maintained. For example, the site directly across from me has a brand new picnic table which are more expensive than your average table since the entire frame is made from tubular metal to ward off termites. Each gender has three separate shower rooms available to them. Each room is lockable and comes with a toilet, a sink vanity, and a very large shower stall. The rooms are spacious so that parents can help their young children. There two sets of washers and dryers in that same centrally located building for the front campground. The rear campground has their own building with restrooms and showers. The dump station has a hand soap dispenser which is the first time I've seen that at a public campground. I camped in slip #26 which is located at the end of the row and has partial shade over half the slip all day long. The end of the row is next to the park boundary and on the other side is an old cemetery which makes for a quiet area buffer from any residences. After my first weekend, almost everyone else checked out and I had my row to myself. Located within the park is the historical Old Mill House Museum but tours were not available (mid June 2023) as they were currently doing repair work. There is a swamp trail boardwalk available for walking/hiking with periodic benches and a river view at one point. They have provided playground equipment and swings for the children. There are about 80 RV slips and all have water and power hook ups. There a half dozen or so with sewer hook ups. There is also a large tent camping area with no power hook ups. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within just a few miles of the park in both Madisonville and Mandeville.

There was no where to place items when using the shower, a shelf or rack with a towel hanger would be good. There was one shower chair in the bathhouse.
