I came here in a party of 9 for ladies night and had an excellent time. The service was great and everyone enjoyed their dishes. We especially enjoyed the tuna tartare and the tuna sushi roll. The only downfall was the long wait for the main course given the restaurant was transitioning to a club. It took almost 1.5-2hrs to get our main dishes. Overall for the price i'd recommend it. The music was a vibe too!

Yoku Luna is a great destination, but don't go for the food. The nightclub/restaurant has creative and flashy if over-the-top décor and has Instagram-worthy spots around every corner. It's a great spot to visit just to take in the décor during dinner hours. The food was good but nothing highly memorable. We really enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers, but the mains were nothing special. The service seems like a weak point, as indicated in a few other reviews. Our servers were friendly, but the amount of time to get our cocktails was ridiculous and there was too many time between ordering and getting appetizers and not enough time before mains. We also felt pressured to leave immediately as dinner wrapped up. All in all, go and take some pictures, but plan to have a memorable experience rather than a memorable meal.

Let's take you with me on my night at Yoko Luna! If you don't want to read, a brief summary is this: - Food 9/10 - Price 7.6/10 - Interior 9/10 - Service 6/10 Walking into the restaurent is quite impressive. The ambiance is perfect for either an intimade date or a night out with friends. Decor is absolutely beautiful. My friends and I went on a Sunday night for our best friends birthday. She was so excited about this place and a big bonus for us was that according to Google and on their website, they closed at 3am (even on Sundays). You're even able to reserve a table for bottle service directly on the website. This was big for us because our day jobs are not typical 9-5 and most of us are off Mondays. When we arrived to our table, we were seated directly in front of the bar and looking over the entire restaurent, just above the bar, was the DJ. I've never seen anything like it, it was so beautiful. We had our dinner reservations for 830 and sat down to eat and ordered a bottle for the table. The food was delicious. I'll admit, I was exepcting a tiny portion of the salmon tartare since it was an appitizer. However, I was surprised to find it sitting on rice cakes. They were very tasty and perhaps the only negative I would give them was that it was a touch salty. My friend and I both ate them and we both were able to taste the salt in the aftertaste of the initial bite. I also had the waygu quesadilla, which in my opinion, was totally worth it, flavors balanced perfectly. For my main, I opted for the Kamikaze Maki Roll, which, unfortunately was a touch smaller than I had hoped. I knew I wasn't going to get all you can eat size rolls, but they were pretty small for a main meal and price point. Taste wise, however, very good. I could have easily had 10 more. Service was nothing special. It was a pretty quiet night and despite that, we found ourselves constantly looking around for our waiter (when asking for water since the bottles don't get left on the table). When dinner ended, we asked the waiter if we could keep the table for the rest of the night. To our dissapointment, he said that they closed at midnight. We were confused as everywhere stated 3 am, but he said it was an error online. It was a little bit of a bummer because we were looking forward to it, but overall, not a bad experience!

Loved the ambiance.. loved the service staff... loved the vibe. ...the door guy was a bit rude and patronizing like he was bullied in school and now taking it out on clients. ...the food was good, but their heirloom tomatoes was just over priced regular ass tomatoes, I hate feeling deceived ...the drinks are over priced and also felt like it didn't match the description.

Best nightclub in the downtown area. Took these pics before the club filled up. My 25 year old went there after midnight and had a great time.

Interior: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 5/10 If you come here strictly for the restaurant experience and not the super club, and you're a foodie, you'll be disappointed. The food is okay, but overpriced. There's nothing special about it - no signature flavours. Obviously, I suspect the ingredients are not extremely fresh. If you'd go somewhere in the west coast or in Asia to order sushi, just the sashimi piece itself will make you drool and tear up. Also, it'd be a fraction of the price. They are working with fish that isn't that fresh - half the flavour is already lost before plating. Then they add stuff to put flavour on it, and it's not that it's badly executed, it's just basic AF. Nothing screams "I'm having a luxurious meal" except for the plating. The tomahawk was half dry aged fat. It was hard to bite into. The braised beef was a bit too sweet and the flavour of the sauces with it didn't mix. The truffle corn was very stiff and heavy. When you spoon it, it doesn't melt into your spoon but just stays as a stiff lump. Service was nice. I think the owner was making sure things were running smoothly so he came about our table couple times while his waiter was running other tables. Interior is nice but bathroom situation is weird. We arrived early evening. There wasn't a lot of people. So I was surprised to see piss on the floor. No napkins to wipe your hands (the boxes were empty or with used toilet paper in it). There was a mysterious oily handprint on the wall of the bathroom. It was just... odd. Also, for anyone that does go to the washroom, you'll notice that there's no indication where it is and whether it is unisex, men or women. FYI it's unisex.

Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

Walking in, the atmosphere struck me--it's dark and cozy, but still well lit enough to feel inviting. We were seated right away. I was a little worried about how we were dressed, but the vibe turned out to be pretty flexible. We saw everything from nicely dressed couples to a bachelor party--complete with the groom-to-be in a hotdog costume! The menu was straightforward but impressive. Every entrée comes with your choice of a Gibbys salad or a wedge salad with blue cheese, plus a potato (do yourself a favor and get the Monte Carlo--you'll thank me later). For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. I've said before that certain restaurants have the "best" one, but this version may actually take the crown. It wasn't oily, and it was perfectly topped with a generous, melty layer of cheese--the way French onion soup should be. I followed that with the Gibbys salad and a 12-ounce filet. I love a good filet, and this one hit the mark. My husband went for the lamb with the wedge salad and enjoyed both thoroughly. By the end, we were far too stuffed for dessert, so we called it a night. If you're looking to splurge on a memorable, romantic dinner in Montreal, Gibbys is the place to go

For $89 per 6oz serving, I expect the meat will be cooked perfectly and of top-notch quality. The bread served with escargot is hard and chewy; scallop soup is lumpy and lukewarm; the double down foie gras is just two pieces of hard bread which barely has any foie gras; duck breast sliced into 6 thin pieces serves with breakfast sausage; the meat is cold, covered by a gluey sauce; the presentation is disastrous. Asparagus is cold, and the cheese sauce on top is cold too. Maybe it's supposed to be cold? But it is weird to serve as a side of a meat course.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. Shish Borek (9/10) - lamb dumplings in a sheep milk yogurt. Expertly made and so delicious. One of the many highlights of our meal.
