Sacramento International Airport Terminal B Bus Stop - Across from Terminal
    Jon L.

There aren't any Sacramento Regional Transit (SACRT) buses that stop at Sacramento International Airport. So if you decide that you want to take public transportation instead of renting a car, you will need to take Yolobus. Yolobus routes 42A and 42B serve the airport. These were the only Yolobus routes that I took and for that matter the only bus service that I took when I visited Sacramento last weekend. Both routes basically have the same route, except that they go in opposite directions in serving Downtown Sacramento, Sacramento Airport, Woodland, Davis and West Sacramento. The two buses run hourly and this is on weekdays and weekends. So if your flight arrives just before the bus leaves, you might have to spend almost a hour at the bus stop waiting for the next one. Also make sure to take the right bus. 42A should be taken if you are headed to downtown Sacramento and 42B should be taken if you are headed to Sacramento Airport. The buses depart at different times from 13th & L in downtown Sacramento across from the California State Capitol. But the buses arrive at about the same time at the airport. Make sure to take the right one. Cause if you take the bus going in the other direction and decide to ride it to the end, it will be almost 2 hours since you got on. The Yolobus fare is quite reasonable as it is just $2. Huge savings compared with taking a taxi to downtown Sacramento. If you bought a SACRT day pass, they are accepted as a fare for Yolobus. And vice versa on SACRT if you bought a Regional Transit day pass. As for the buses themselves, they were as expected. The bus I took into downtown was a regular city bus. But I took a Greyhound/BoltBus style big bus back to the airport. If you can make the bus schedules work for you, I would recommend taking Yolobus to and from the airport. Otherwise, I would just suggest renting a car to get around Sacramento.

Garbage the bus driver swept out of her bus - awesome!

Just love how the driver at L&13 swept all the garbage out of her bus into the street...

For some reason, Sacramento Regional Transit buses don't go to the airport. Yolobus routes 42A and 42B, however, will get you from downtown Sacramento to the airport for just $2. The bus is basically an express with no stops between downtown and the airport. This is a tremendous value as cab fare is $30+. The only problem with Yolobus is it comes so infrequently (just once an hour) so it may not work with your schedule. Otherwise, this would be a five star experience.

Love the YOLO bus. Wonderful drivers and just about always on time. I ride it daily for work and monthly for the airport.

Umbrella Bus barely got our passengers from Point A to Point B, did not do so efficiently, and arguably didn't do it terribly safely. We booked Umbrella for a 54-passenger shuttle to transport wedding guests from our wedding hotel to our ceremony venue, and then from the ceremony venue to the reception venue ($1050 total). I confirmed this itinerary with their staff by email and phone several times (at least three), because they kept sending me invoices that only showed a partial itinerary, but they assured me that they had the correct itinerary written down and would read off the correct itinerary on the phone when I called. On the first trip, the bus driver got the bottom of the bus stuck on a steep hill, rendering it unable to move. Guests had to walk nearly a quarter mile from where the bus got stuck to the ceremony site. The bus was also blocking the entrance to the park where the ceremony was held, meaning that park visitors and several wedding guests who were behind it were severely delayed in getting into the park. We had a couple of guests who missed some of the wedding ceremony because the bus blocked the entrance for so long. It would've been 3.5 stars if only for this, since it wasn't 100% the driver's fault, though he should really have known what the buses he drives are able to handle. On the second trip, though, despite me confirming the destinations in the itinerary with Umbrella MULTIPLE TIMES, the driver had somehow been given the wrong destination by their dispatch, and took guests back to the hotel instead of to the wedding reception venue. My family members had to argue with the driver, who insisted that he'd been told to take everyone back to the hotel, and "I'm only doing two trips, how will people get back to the hotel?" but he eventually relented and took everyone to the reception instead, but meant that most of the guests were delayed by quite a bit in getting to the reception. This definitely wasn't the driver's fault though, and was clearly the fault of the company/dispatch. He did eventually take the guests where they needed to go, which we appreciate.

Our location was scenic and located at the bottom of a mountain, putting a limit on parked cars on site. We needed to direct people to a local park and ride, and hire a shuttle. This requirement was the most complicated logistic we had to coordinate for the wedding, but working with Regal Carriage reduced all of our stress and made planning a breeze! We called all shuttle companies in the region to inquire, and most companies didn't have the resources, interest, or capacity to support what we needed (we needed a pick up window and multiple drop off windows, which spanned most of the day in a rural area). We were so fortunate to find this company. The first person I spoke to was Nicole who was extremely kind, patient, and made the process welcoming. Immediately when we began planning- i recognized how accountable, communicative, and determined Nicole was to make this work for our wedding day. Vik shared his impressive work history and expertise in navigating complicated roads, which brought me relief as I was nervous having a large vehicle travel on the narrow and winding roads to the site. We needed a complex schedule, so Nicole and Vik worked closely and efficiently with me, my husband, and our day of contact to safely and reliably bring ~30 guests to and from our wedding! They thought of everything.. down to planning ahead for how we could get in contact in an area with spotty cell reception. We rented a 14 seater- the vehicle was so clean and immaculate. Our guests complimented how luxurious the whole experience felt, how safely Vik drove them, and how kind, professional, and friendly he was! You can tell this is a family business that prides themselves on great, caring customer service and going above and beyond. In weddings... not everything is going to go right. But the one thing we were able to count on was Regal Carriage :) Please support this awesome business! Pristina + BK
