Trish had to be the most disrespectful person I had ever came across! I understand the negative reviews on here fully. I called to schedule a tour after seeing a 2 bedroom available today and she asked if I had put in application in online. I asked if I could see it first and her response was filleded with assumption and attitude and was so belittling. "If you ACTUALLY were interested blah blah". I said I don't know why she would speak like that, most places need an appointment for a walk through so sorry I didn't automatically know that wasn't needed here. She called me back a minute or so later. No introduction just "What's your first and last name" said more as a statement than a question and was rude again! I did nothing to this sad lady who clearly should not be working with customers. I said i was no longer interested strictly because of the treatment and she said "OK good.". I'm baffled. Lived here for a year. The place is expensive, I had a two bedroom. There was a deck, central air and heating and two entranceways. Did not have any trouble with sound as the walls and floors seemed thick enough not to hear any neighbor noise. The pool is nice and the community too. Never had a problem with anyone living thrte. Maintenance was quick to respond to issues. Only downside was the price. read more

Yes, the rent on my 2 bed room is expensive. Yes, it was difficult getting to my parking spot due to snow. That said York Hills is better than most places I looked at. I do not hear noise from other apartments in my building. The pool area looks great, unfortunately wrong time of year to base it on. I have called maintenance several times. Their response time was usually less than a hour. I have two entrances, two bedrooms, washer dryer, deck, central air and heating. read more

I lived here for 2 1/2 years. I requested to get out of the lease to move back into my house and they were quite cooperative. I recently retired and plan to move back in sometime in the near future. They have a strip mall with a full grocery store, a large movie complex, many other stores that are across the street. I loved the pool, the quiet, and friendly neighbors. I honestly was not going to leave a negative review in spite of the awful time we had at this place, but a straw just broke the camel's back so here we go. During our short two years at York Hills we had to live without A/C for days in a 90 degree apartment and live without heat for days in a 30 degree apartment (multiple times). The HVAC was always "fixed" with Band-Aids, but would break again within weeks. A specialist told us at one point that they should replace the unit but management refused. We had a bathroom leak that was not fixed for over year, and a maintenance man who stole from us while "fixing" the bathroom leak. The only reason we caught him stealing was because of our camera for our dog. The feeling of watching someone who is supposed to help you root through your personal belongings is awful. We made a valid request to not have maintenance men in our apartment when we are not home, which was not honored. We rarely complained, tried to make the best of it and were so polite to the office in spite of all of their Band-Aid fixes and lack of care that we felt they showed. The last straw is that we moved to a new apartment and one of my expensive packages was delivered to our old address. We have a picture of the package in front of our old apartment and it shows the number, but the office said the new tenants did not bring the package to them. I asked them to call the new tenants just to see if they had gotten the package or sent it back, because that would help me to know what my next steps should be. The office refused to call, and said there was nothing that they could do to help. This is the absolute worst place that we have ever lived, and I am so glad to live in a place where the office actually helps and is accountable to their tenants now. read more

The manager at this apartment complex is rude and disrespectful. She is on a self induced power trip. On January 18th, 2022 I called my child and told her to come outside. I was running late to pick her up for her dentist appointment. She was walking towards the parking lot when she was stopped by Cathy an employee of CLK properties who reports herself to be the manager. She stops my 10 year old child and questions where she is going? What building she lives in? How old she is and what her mothers name is? She then proceeds to tell her that she is not allowed outside. When my daughter got in the car she told me what occurred. I seen Cathy shoveling snow 3 days after the snow storm but that's common. What is not common or acceptable is when I asked her why she questioned my child, Cathy said; " Oh she wasn't doing anything, I just told her she is not allowed outside without a parent". I replied, I'm her parent and I told her to come downstairs. She says, well read your lease it states children are not allowed outside without a parent unless they are over the age of 12 or 14. At this point I know she is making this up for justifying why she questioned my child. She then doubles down and says she is the manager and can talk to my child to find out what's going on. What's going on was she was walking to meet her mother for her dentist appointment. This woman is a Karen!!!!!! I called the regional manager spoke to Sharon and has not heard anything. I am moving. I went in the office to make my payment today. Cathy takes the payment, I asked for a receipt she says in on my money order. I then tell her I need you to write me a receipt, she says I'm not going to cheat you. CLK properties of this is who you have taking your rent payments and answering your phones shame on you. She isn't a manager, she is a Karen. York Hills no need to respond that you are shocked I feel this way. read more

Seriously look elsewhere. For what you pay for, you get thin walls, outdated appliances and fixtures, and a whole lot of nothing. The upstairs neighbors are up all hours of the night stomping above us. Not just the normal creaking you hear in apartment living, STOMPING at 3 sometimes 4am! Absolutely unacceptable. Maintenance takes forever. The office is rude. 1 bed 1 bath and a view of the parking lot for over 700 a month?! Hell no. Not to mention parking is a complete disaster. There should be assigned parking due to the over abundance of vehicles. It's ridiculous. Village Realty is the best value out there. Check them out before considering this place. I have been living here for 5yrs and like it very much. As far as noise from neighbors, yes there is some. But I owned a house and could here my neighbors running up & down the steps! I lived in Village Realty Apts and could hear my neighbors, plus Village Realty raised the rent stating the real estate taxes had gone up - which they didn't, per my mom the tax collector. Maintenance - someone had mentioned the guys would walk in with no pre-warning -- NOT TRUE!! I always knew when they were stopping by and never had to wait long for them to fix something. Even when they changed out the faucets, we all received a notice at our door. People need to realized included with in the rent - they are paying water, sewer, garbage, snow removal, lawn care - all these expenses I had to pay when I own my house. Much cheaper living in an apartment. I have plenty of storage, parking can be a bear at times, plus unlimited access to the pool!! read more

I agree with Alexandria S. I lived there over a year as well and I've had several issues with the maintenance men walking into my apartment without permission. I wasn't properly dressed and looked around the corner to find him in my living room. Apparently, if they knock three times, this gives them the permission to enter even if you can't hear them. I didn't receive a call or an email telling me that they'd need to enter my/their apartment. Another time, I had thought I left my door unlocked. I was coming in from work and found that I didn't need to use my key. Well this sparked my anxiety and fear of course again. Come to find out this stranger (someone contracted who changes out faucets) was in my bathroom changing out the faucets. Again, no call or email. Not even a hanging paper that says "We'll be in your apartment on this day at this time. Want to know why they changed out the faucets? For less water pressure. Now what pressure I use to have to rinse the toothpaste off my toothbrush or the dirt from your hands has now turned to a constant trickle. A tease that really pisses you off in both the shower and your bathroom sink. Not to mention that the water temperature in your shower varies from 60-120 degrees during every shower and anytime of the day and night. And yes, the water temperature was checked me and maintenance. I was told that the water temperature would vary from time to time but this was EVERY TIME. ALL THE TIME. I also can hear my next door neighbors on their phone and my downstairs neighbors conversation and the husband (or wife) snoring. And don't get me started on the A/C that doesn't work. IT FLAT OUT DOESN'T WORK. I was mislead and then when this is brought up to maintenance and the office I was told very rudely that was appeased last year because they put an A/C unit in my apartment. Thanks for the $450 electricity bill. Yes, they allow pets. Yes, they have a pool. But with all things considered, they are an overpriced version of living in the projects. Just quieter and less potential shootings. Seriously, paying over $950 for thin walls, outdated appliances, doors that easily come of the hinges of your bedroom closets. AND WASP NESTS!! I KILLED AT LEAST 5 WASPS A DAY THAT ARE INSIDE MY APARTMENT. I DON'T EVEN HAVE MY WINDOWS OR BALCONY OPEN!! Thank God (or Satan) I leave my blinds down. I hear the buzzing against the blinds and then I know it's time to get the spray. They do have laundry rooms in the buildings but you have to purchase a card and the only machine is in the office. So you're screwed if you don't get there before 5 and on holidays and Sundays. I wish the residents here would stand with me and demand better care. If you decide to move here, make sure you sleep with earplugs because of the thin walls and floor and hopefully you don't wake up to a maintenance man standing over you. Only move here if you really hate yourself but like to swim. And only have someone move in here if you really hate them. read more
