I asked for blunt ends with high-contrast and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. While I've just started going to Hannah in January 2022, I don't see myself going anywhere else. Salon: It's a small space, cute interior, metered parking, and a little hard to find because it's actually in the basement on a corner so be sure to ask for landmarks (I already forgot them, but i recognize them when I'm there). After moving from the city last year I struggled finding a local place that would do a decent job and have decent customer service as well....I've been to places around here that act like they are doing you the biggest favor just to "see you". After dealing with acrylic nails for years I finally decided to have them taken off and try and have my own nails look somewhat decent. I needed a miracle ...I discovered they do the new shellac nails so I am not going in every other day for a polish change due to chips. Plus, there is a balance between having really long hair to weigh down/control the curl...and not having a shape, just having a big mop of long hair that hangs there and doesn't look intentional let alone professional. I searched a bit on Yelp for hair cuts and salons for curly hair and learned about the Deva Cut. I figured I'd try this salon and was so pleased that I did! The Deva Cut is a dry cut with natural care and styling products and specific techniques meant to tame frizz and encourage curls at the same time. The Deva way of thinking is to stop fighting curl and to embrace it by making it look better than you ever imagined possible. Melanie, the salon owner, is the one Paragon staffer who is trained in the Deva cut. I found her to be polished, nice, a bit quiet, and very thoughtful and careful in the way she handled me and my hair. She was most definitely not a traditional chatty, gum-chewing, long fingernailed fashion diva wannabe. She paid attention to what I said and I did not cut too much or attempt to persuade me to change the style or color of my hair. Setting up the appointment was pleasant, Melanie was on time, and the receptionist was nice. The salon is comfortable but not flashy or overly luxurious. Melanie was able to trim and shape my hair without losing too much length and also the got rid of the scraggly bits at the center of my back, which I had due to a U-shaped cut. I left with incredibly curly, healthy-looking hair and a lot of excitement about trying the Deva way of life. Also worth noting is that my hair was just as curly the following morning (it usually flattens out quite a bit when I sleep on it). If you like or hate your curls, try Melanie and the Deva way of hair care!
