Was a former patient of Dr. Yoshida when I was younger. Growing up I remember Dr. Yoshida was always patient with me. He was fast and gentle and thoroughly explained everything going on. As an adult, I recently had x-rays taken, which probed questions on any past head injury trauma. I called Dr. Yoshida's office to see if there were any x-rays taken when I was little. I hadn't been there in 9+ years, but Dr. Yoshida staff helped me right away. Dr. Yoshida even spoke with me over the phone to help investigate my situation. Although I was worried about going to the dental office because of COVID-19, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dr.Yoshida and his staff are taking all the necessary precautions. I was especially impressed that they were temperature screening patients before even allowing them to enter the office (via laser thermometer to avoid unnecessary contact). In addition to using masks, staff are using face shields and Plexiglas barriers. They also have hand sanitizer for patients. While I was there for my appointment, there was no other patients, but if there was, there would only be two patients to allow for proper distancing (although if you were from the same household you could be seated next to each other, which I think could be reassuring for young patients). My father didn't schedule an appointment for my brother because he felt that it might not be safe, but after sharing how everything was being done with patient safety in mind, he will be making an appointment for my brother soon. I have been a patient for Dr.Yoshida since I was a child. Like many other children, I did not like flossing; however, Dr.Yoshida never made me feel bad when he noticed that I wasn't flossing, he was just very encouraging and told me to keep up the good work with my brushing. I think that a positive attitude towards young children is important because the dentist is generally not a fun experience. The first time I went to Dr.Yoshida, I thought he was going to take my teeth so I bit him. Despite this, he was very kind and let me take something from the treasure box (stickers and toys for kids). I felt so bad for biting him that the next time I went to the dentist I was the perfect patient. As an adult, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else, so I stayed with Dr.Yoshida. I often see many other older patients who grew up with Dr.Yoshida, but because they've had such great experiences also do not want to leave. Honest dentists with fair prices and genuine compassion for their patients are rare. I've never had a cavity, and if you take your kids here and follow Dr.Yoshida's instructions, your kids will also have beautiful smiles. read more

Our whole family appreciates Dr.Yoshida and the whole staff here. Everytime we visit they have all been very professional, kind and caring. My four year old had a traumatic dental experience earlier on in her life, but they have been super gentle with her, and last time she was able to sit in the seat by herself, and said the visit was 'fun'! I went here as a child's and have returned to the practice since moving back to the Bay. When i went for a recent cleaning, Dr. Brian informed me that i had the beginnings of a cavity forming. Instead of waiting for it to get worse and require a filing, he offered to put a sealant on, which is a more proactive and conservative approach. I took my 2 year old in for her first dental appointment, and she responded really well to Lisa during the cleaning and to Dr. Brian during his exam. Dr. Brian told us that my toddler should stop using a pacifier in the most kind and understanding way. He didn't push us stopping right away, and he talked through the best ways to do it. I really felt like he viewed me as a partner in caring for my daughter's dental health. read more

My childhood dentist who I went to for 15+ years (since I was 7)! Dr. Brian is a great great great dentist and I owe him my lovely teeth. It was definitely a sad day when I got a job and changed insurance so I couldn't come here anymore. I still get postcards asking me to make an appointment though which makes me even sadder. :( Anyway, he's a great dentist (especially for children) but will accept older patients like I was. Funny that one time I was in the office for my checkup and noticed how all the patients were little kids. I felt like Ross in Friends when he's caught going to his childhood doctor. But I asked one of the dental assistants if I was the oldest patient and she said that they take people who are in their 40s and 50s even because they feel so comfortable with Dr. Brian! Everyone in the office is amazingly accommodating and I would definitely recommend coming here. He is incredibly friendly and caring. I never got a cavity! I went through getting braces, wisdom teeth and everything! He recommended great orthodontists and oral surgeons to do the job. My 2 boys have been seeing Dr. Yoshida for 10+ years. Dr. Yoshida always takes the time to review the X-rays, and to discuss with us what to anticipate based on the teeth growth pattern. I was a patient of Dr Yoshida's as a child, and my daughter and I are both patients now too! I haven't found a dentist as good as Dr Yoshida so I've just keep going, even into my 30's. I've had a million cavities and a ton of stress induced jaw pain. I once even called Dr Yoshida from a vacation in Croatia because my teeth hurt and he was able to help me over Skype. No Joke! Unfortunately, my experience is that this dentist office is quite expensive when I compare my son's dental bills to that of my own or my husband's dental bills for just your basic cleaning. I never realized it before but I was paying 54% more for son's cleanings. My child has been going to Dr. Yoshida for a few years now and he is nice enough. He has a good demeanor and is friendly and all. However, to charge your patients what they do is pretty dissappointing. Especially because their office is nothing special. They have your basic equipment: nothing state-of-the-art. Which is why I don't fully understand the hefty charges. I wish I realized what I was being charged sooner as I would have switched dentists sooner. I just never paid attention. We also recently found out that upon the recommendation of Dr Yoshida, a couple of years ago, to put temporary composites on my child's molars, we found out (from the new dentist) that the composites were put in so poorly that they left pockets underneath where cavities were starting to form. We were able to see this through the xrays that the new dentist took. Had Dr. Yoshida never recommended putting these composites in or at least putting them in correctly, we wouldn't now be faced with having to deal with correcting the issue and having to foot the bill for something that could have been completely avoided - as if putting those composites in in the first place wasn't expensive enough! read more

My dtr has been seeing Dr. Yoshida for a couple years now through a friend's referral. Very good dentist, thorough and promotes preventative care. Explains the x-rays and wait time is very short. Usually only a couple mins to be seen. Truly an excellent doctor for little children My husband and I are faithful about going to the dentist every 6 months. We are big believers in preventative care for staying fit and healthy. When my 4 year old started with loose teeth I asked for a recommendation from my dentist, and they recommended Dr. Yoshida. We went for her appointment and both my daughter and I were nervous. I didn't know what to expect and didn't know how I would deal with it if she was upset or terrified. Luckily, we had a very positive experience and my daughter left feeling proud of herself and happy. The whole process didn't take more than a half hour. She had X-rays (4) and then the doctor did an exam of her teeth, a cleaning and flossing. Before he did anything, he showed us the instruments, let her touch them so she knew what they felt like, and told her exactly what he was going to do. He was very patient and gentle, and my daughter did just fine. I sat close by the entire time so she had me near. After we finished, my daughter picked out some toys from the treasure box while the doctor showed me her x-rays and explained what he saw. He was very encouraging and his recommendations made sense. We will be happily be returning to Dr. Yoshida for the next several years. I'm so pleased that my daughter now has set the foundation for a lifetime of positive visits to the dentist. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Yoshida. My children (age 14 and 16) have been with Dr. Yoshida more than 10 years. Now I am also a patient because he is the best dentist I have ever come across. My children never had a single cavity or any other problem with their teeth thanks to his care and expertise. I really appreciate his time and patience explaining to the children and me the changes they are experiencing and how to best take care of their teeth - he even draws pictures to illustrate.
