The flavors were mediocre at best, but the quality is what really lost me. I ordered the goat masala which turned out to be more bones and bone fragments than anything. I was genuinely scared to finish my meal due to the fear of choking on tiny bone fragments. I shouldn't have had to pick apart and inspect the entire entree before eating it. Maybe their other food is better/safer for consumption, but I don't really want to find out.

We got takeout (Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala) and it was the most bland Indian food I've ever had. The chicken was very dry square cubes and the sauce seemed like it was straight out of a pre-made packet. Sauce is so important with this type of food (in my opinion) and It was apparent that it had not been made from scratch. It could've been "doctored up" some and simmered to develop flavor but it wasn't. Maybe they have some other dishes that are better; maybe we ordered the wrong thing. But unfortunately we won't be ordering from here again. PS it does not say on the menu that the entrees come with rice. I assumed they would but because no one answered when I called to ask I didn't know for sure so I ordered a side of rice. We ended up with 3 containers of rice because the entrees Do come with rice (FYI). Also, the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala taste almost identical. Same orange color and same flavor. It was hard to tell the difference between the two.

Despite a few menu alterations on their part, I got some interesting food. The place is listed as Pakastani, so I ordered things that seemed distinctively regional. My paneer chili delivered a delicious Indo-Chinese spice note and enough chili to clear my sinuses. The amount of actual paneer was not huge, but neither was the price, so I ended up just eating it all at once (unusual for me to finish an entire entree of that heavy stuff). The way they do a samosa chaat is a little bit drier and tangier than most, which does feel more like the style one gets in Pakistani places. It was satisfying, though the styrofoam container struggled to hold the liquid a bit. Of the numerous Indian restaurants in the area, I doubt this one will blow away all the others, but it was distinctive, fresh, and convenient. They gave me a loyalty card, and I'll probably come back.

Both main dishes had limited depth of flavor without the craveable layers of Indian spices that culinary dreams are made of. Both tasted freshly made and not stewed for hours, which would have provided the depth. Service/owner was perfectly nice. And the prices were half of the nearby competitors. Give Lahore a try! May be perfectly fine for most, especially as an introductory Indian food experience. Where's the heat?

Saffron has a variety of spice levels. I found medium to be perfect for me. I may venture into even something slightly spicier next time. We had chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. I tried to go in two different restaurants where I live in the USA, And it's never good enough for me. I tasted good food in San Antonio, Texas. But I was being robbed. It is every single piece of food that they create in this restaurant. Clean!! I mean the whole place is clean even the driveway even the parking lot everything. The locals complain about the traffic. I do not often post reviews, but want to encourage more business their way…read more.. This is our favorite local Indian spot, hands down. I've tried a handful around the Lawrenceville/Snellville/Grayson area, and none come close. I've appreciate some good Indian cuisine for the better part of 20 years, and although I don't venture too far from my normal favorites, everything I've had here is good. I'm the prototypical samosa/chicken tikka/naan eater, and these favorites are excellent. Maybe throw in some Chicken 65, aloo palak, or veg korma and you got a solid family meal. Don't forget to order some rice, and make sure you let them know how spicy (even though my family wants no spice - they do that too!) The one downside is it can take a while. If you call at 6pm on a Saturday, expect to wait at least an hour. The thing is, the food is truly homemade and fresh, so it takes time. It's definitely worth it, but there are times when we just didn't prepare well in advance, or they are really busy because they cater too. Normal times you can have your food in about 45min. We mostly do takeout, as do most I think, so if you are in the area and looking to sit down to eat, I've never seen it completely packed, so you don't have to worry about waiting to get a table. Don't be thrown off by the minimal signage or limited if not no people sitting inside - it's a perfect place to enjoy some incredible Indian from a family owned mom&pop restaurant. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
