The restaurant only had one person seated when we entered. Very clean. Large seating area and it has a patio outside. Nice ambient music playing. We tried the Lunch special which is two plates for $20. You can choose from Butter Chicken or a veggie dish. You also get basmati rice, a large naan bread/roti, tomato salad and what looked like chick peas in a sweet sauce. There was also a small round pastry in the middle of the tray. The Indian food of my dreams. Seriously though....absolutely incredible. The taste had me literally moaning every single bite, the portions were amazing, the staff were so friendly, the interior was fun and well designed. Do yourself a favor and try this place immediately. I want to try their entire menu and NEED their food at a minimum of once a month. You may think this post is dramatic, until you try it yourself and then you will understand the hype. We got the butter chicken main dish, the smoked paneer tikka bowl and the garlic and cheese naan. Everything was 100/100. We also tried two drinks, the mango lassi (holy yum) and the sweet lemon water (refreshing and delicious). I will be working my way through their entire menu. Just happened to see this restaurant on yelp and thought we would try it. Indian food is one of my favorites. We tried the lamb sagg and also the smoked chicken curry. Sooo good and flavorful. The lamb was very tender and the sauces excellent. Also tried a new appetizer corn chatt... sweet tangy crunchy and delicious. Garlic naan was awesome. I ordered the butter chicken and dal makani, both came with rice. The flavors were good. I ordered medium spicy, which was too spicy for me the first day, but perfect on day two. The meat in the butter chicken was just enough, but not especially generous. I'm on a diet, so that's okay; met my protein quota for the meal. Both the butter chicken and dal were a bit runny. I should have ordered roti to sop up that good flavor. The restaurant glistened and the employee was thoughtful. It was $30 and I ate 2 meals, so $15/per meal. read more

We had take out from Hocco the other day! They are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and warm. The Chicken 65 is so spicy and so good. Malai Chicken Tikka is very flavorful just the right amount of char on the chicken. The mint sauce was really good. We also had the Lamb Galouti Bowl. The ground lamb kebab was delicious and the korma gravy was amazing mixed with the perfectly cooked rice! Don't miss out on the MANGO LASSI!!! It's very good after a spicy bite of the chicken 65. The food is absolutely the best Indian outside of India! The chicken marsala was flavorful, slightly spicy at a level three, and each bite was deliciously tender. Have seen this restaurant from the road a few times and decided to try it. Fairly priced entrees, a wide assortment of menu items, adjustable spicing to suit your taste made for an excellent meal. Food quality was superb with a variety of flavors and textures that make your mouth and stomach happy. VERY friendly and accommodating staff and made recommendations that were all on point. If you're not sure what you want ask for their recommendations for a fantastic dining experience. Sooooo good. Definitely try their Mango Lassi drink--it's the best drink I have had anywhere in quite some time. Yash came to our table several times to check on us and answer questions; also anticipated our need for takeout containers and a bag right away. Tried this place and was pleasantly surprised, had the chicken 65 ( very spicy) , could only assume 65 types of peppers in the recipe, it was tasty, just as long as you don't mind breathing fire, I would get it again and add something to take some of the heat off. Also had the samosas ( basic, standard, nothing wow ) but tasted good and the Garlic Naan bread ( definitely the weakest link in the cast ) Not bad, but I've had much better. As a vegetarian this food is perfect, there is plenty to choose from and eat. Although vegetarian I'm extremely sensitive to spice which is challenging for this restaurant to tame. Portions are normal size but the additions such as the rice aren't enough to complement main dishes. I come here often so I'm still a fan and I'm learning to handle spicy foods. Our family loves Indian food. We travel to India on occasion as well. Hocco is excellent! It's our Go To place. We have had a variety of items from their menu, and it's all authentic and delicious! You can ask for any of the dishes with spice levels from mild to hot, depending on your taste. We love to come for their lunch specials when we can. They have wraps and bowls but one get one 50% off. Delicious and fast service!! Tried Hocco last night for dinner because we were in a pinch on time. This is a chain that is popular in India and so glad we have one in Greenville! We ordered 2 Mango Lassis, samosas, smoked paneer wrap, and the smoked chicken tikka bowl. We definitely played it safe but was pleasantly surprised to see they serve goat too! Next time we will be more adventurous but really delicious flavors. The mint chutney was tasty with the samosas. We both loved the smoke flavors of the paneer and chicken. Clean!!! The food was more like home made. The chicken korma was delicious with thick sauce and the chicken was plentiful as was the goat in my husband's curry dish. Delicious food! So flavorful and the meats were all so moist and tender. We all loved our selections. The ambiance is very simple and not at all "ethnic" in its decor. You have to get up and get your own water and grab your own plastic forks and spoons. For that, I deducted one star. The prices are about the same as a regular, full service restaurant. So for those prices, I would expect a little less plastic and a little more service. But the food was absolutely mouth-watering!! Go try this place!! read more

My family just had Hocco for dinner last night and were very pleased with the flavors they packed into their dishes. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken korma, chana masala, lamb biriyani and garlic naan. Our personal favorite flavor was the chicken korma. Everything tasted fresh and the service was quick and easy. They even had some family friendly games to play while we waited for our food. Ordered out because I was feeling lazy and I was not disappointed at all with this place. We got the Lamb Galouti Bowl which was incredible and the Chicken Tikka Bowl which was perfectly spicy. The naan we ordered was incredible, too. Perfect portions all around. My husband also ordered moong dal halwa. I didn't get to try it. He consumed all of it and said it was delicious. I could never thank the gentleman who greeting me this evening for dinner enough. I can say he is a master of his craft as are everyone who was apart of me being able to actually enjoy a meal I never would have experienced certainly ever here. I do not believe in 2 things. Coincidence or luck. Fate and karma I have been an instrument of too many times not to understand fully. Fate had delivered me to food so good I actually forgot even if for the briefest of moments what had brought me there. Karma in short order forced me to remember that the only person that could have appreciated it couldn't and was the reason I found myself 5 states away. Tonight I was exactly where I should have been and being fortunate enough to finally listen. The food here is at such a great balance that not only does it fill the soul. FI've stars all around. The ambiance and decor was modern with Indian influence. The service was super friendly and genuine but the food was the shining star here. The chili Paneer was to die for. The Desi Chicken was slow-cooked and fell off the bone like a good southern pork rib. Careful in choosing your spice level. I am a hot sauce and spice aficionado and the "Indian Hot" level was perfect for me. My son got normal "hot" and could barely eat it. So start with medium if you're not sure.
