There were about 24 in our group for dinner on July 23, 2026 and we were so impressed by the efficient service of their team. They were also very friendly and we didn't wait that long for our food considering we were a large group. Very impressive all around! We visited this restaurant for the first time with our family while casually looking for a place to eat in Scarborough. It popped up with great Google ratings, and since it was New Year's Day and a working day, we assumed it wouldn't be too busy. Turns out we were wrong--we had to wait about 30 minutes. That said, the small and cozy waiting area made the wait comfortable, and since we were dining with a kid, the staff kindly offered us a corner table, which we really appreciated. For appetizers, we ordered the Paneer Triple Platter. Unfortunately, the first batch was served cold and felt undercooked. However, once we mentioned it, the staff immediately replaced it with a fresh batch, and it was excellent. All three marinates were flavourful, and even the onions and salad were well-marinated and delicious. The only downside was that the paneer cubes were quite large, so the flavours didn't fully seep inside, making it feel a bit heavy at times. For the main course, we tried their highly reviewed Rara Paneer, which did not disappoint in terms of flavour. The Mushroom Masala truly stood out and ended up being my favourite dish of the meal. We paired the curries with butter and garlic naan, and everything was served in generous portions. While the pricing is slightly on the higher side, the quality and quantity completely justify it. The ambience is royal with strong Indian vibes, making it a great choice for special occasions or family dinners. Although the service felt a little slow at times, the staff was always attentive, warm, and accommodating, ensuring our requests were handled well and that our overall dining experience remained positive. Boy oh boy we were beyond pleased how flavorful every dish was. The service was fairly quick, super friendly, and helpful choosing dishes that are vegetarian friendly. A steady flow of patrons on a weekday were indicative of loyal customers. Meals start off with complimentary papadum, which is always a nice way to start off a meal. The mango lassi (4.5/5) was great tasting without being too sweet, just the way I like it. The onion pakoras and chicken tikka masala (both 4.5/5) were well prepared using authentic recipes and both hit the right spot. The portions were generous enough that I had a few days of leftovers. The naan (4/5) was nice and fluffy without being excessively saturated with butter. The ambiance and service (5/5) were both excellent, as I enjoyed the decor and multiple staff members checked in on me and asked if I needed to-go containers for my leftovers. I had my husband's surprise 42nd, birthday dinner here. It was AMAZING! The manager/owner kept coming over to talk to us and make sure everything was fine and the he liked how he sung happy birthday. Let's see...saw our actual server just once. Employee who brought out the meals didn't know which dish was which and called out, delivered incorrect meals to members of our party of five. At one point two employees were moving a small table decided to just push our table down while we were still seated and asked them to wait. I was really blown away by Saffron. It's located in an unassuming strip mall, but when you step inside you'll find a beautifully decorated dining room. I've never physically been here that I remember, but my parents have. The restaurant is nice from what they tell me, I can't comment on the service because I obviously don't remember eating here. We have gotten takeout almost all the time and I love their food. Whenever I come from Atlanta, I always try to get takeout from here. They are delicious, their chicken curry, and their other chickens are yummy. It is good. Not a huge fan of chicken tikka but overall that's not my favorite dish so it's not them. While spending a few days in Greenville we decided to try Saffron, the food was soooo good! I love Indian food but have very little tolerance for spicy meals, they have real options on the spicy level you are comfortable ordering. I have found that at other Indian restaurants the no spicy is still spicy for me but at Saffron they got it perfectly. I ate dinner at Saffron. The naan was excellent.. puffy and soft. I ordered matar paneer and butter chicken (medium). The butter chicken was lackluster, not only not spicy-hot, but very little of the exotic indian spices were found. I guess the "pat" of butter melting in the sauce made it butter chicken. Chicken was stringy and tough. The Matar was better, but pretty much the same sauce; again lacking spice. The quantitates were small, and mostly sauce, but not smaller in quantity than most Indian restaurants. One of the servers stood by my table (5 ft away) during my meal and watched me eat . Ostensibly he was waiting to address any of my needs but it felt like he was watching so I did not steal any flatware. Just a weird vibe. read more
