She stopped what she was doing to take me to where they were. It was a good distance away. I asked another employee, Jess, for help finding Hard Cider. Same thing. Stopping what she was doing just to help me. Finally, the cashier Amanda, went above and beyond to put rubber bands around my cakes, double bagged the heavier groceries then used a Wegman's Card that would save me money. None of these ladies had to go the extra mile. But they did! Hats off to these ladies. I will be going back again!!

Located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Kempsville. The store is West side of the strip with excellent signage. The center is updated and has plenty of parking. No debris in the area or upon walk up. My arrival was just before noon and there was a line. Any bourbon hunter knows what this means. It's Monday truck day and some hard to find bottles are ready to be pillaged. I learned it was STAGG Jr. today which is rare. The store was clean and organized. All of the new stock was on shelves. The line was orderly and when opened precisely at 12 PM customers made their way to a box of 12 STAGG Jr. I got the next to last one. Price retail is just under $60. However secondary market hundreds. This was a great day for an elusive bourbon. Checkout was socially distanced with the staff protected by plexiglass. No issues with my gift card transaction. The clerk was friendly and knowledgeable. Another staff opened the door for my exit. This will not be a regular store with distance from my home. However if they have certain stock I cannot find elsewhere I have no issues visiting them again. I created a collection of area ABC stores that users may find helpful.

However the area is sketch. I visited them during the day and would not do so after dark. The lot is huge and overall pretty clean with debris on the peripheral area. Signage is good on the building which can be seen from the road. I was greeted once I entered the store and asked if I was looking for something. This was super and I did get help locating a Knob Creek 12 year bottle of bourbon, The store is spread out and clean. A lot of bare shelves was odd. The bourbon section was nice size but missing items. That's also odd when they got their truck same day. The store is split between the liquor store and a regional ABC office. I'm not exactly sure what they do as HQ is in Richmond. Checkout was smooth on my card and a touch less transaction. The staff had mask and cleaned the area before I was served. They transferred me to corporate who transferred me back to the store and after many unanswered questions and a lot of indifference from the staff, I said "ok, thanks, I'll place my order online blind." Last year, the manager Bill was amazing and taught me everything about my kegerator! His advice was top notch. I remembered he transferred and I found him in Chesapeake! One call and Bill had everything I needed lined up! I drove 103.6 miles round trip just to get the best and most knowledgeable help in Hampton Roads! Bill delivers service with a smile and makes sure I don't get the run-around... ever. At least three of your staff told me, "I can't". Bill said, "Absolutely! I can!" And he did! This was delivery day so the store had some nice allocated bottles of bourbon. Boxes were on the floor as they rushed product up the best they could. It appeared they were short staffed, who isn't these days. I found what I was looking for in a Knob Creek 12 year and a EH Taylor Small Batch. The manager checked me out and was friendly. During the 10 minutes I was in the store I watched this man be very disrespectful to the employees and customers. He was telling the employees to "Just shut up and do what I say." I must've heard him tell the two guys working the registers to "shut up" at least five times.... they weren't even saying anything in the first place! He was also just shouting orders at the customers entering the store. The store was busy because it was 10 minutes before they closed so Mickey was trying to get everyone out of the store so he could close up. Around 6:55 he told the 2 men working the registers , as well as the 4 or 5 people waiting outside that they would be the last customers of the day. A younger black woman that was waiting outside didn't have a mask, so he told her that she couldn't come in. At 6:58 - About 3 minutes after he stated that there would be no other customers, a middle aged white man approached the door and said "All I need is 1 bottle of Jack Daniels" and pretty much begged to be let it in. **THIS GUY DID NOT HAVE A MASK AND MICKEY LET HIM RIGHT IN- NO QUESTIONS ASKED.** As the man entered the store, the younger black woman that Mickey denied entry to made a comment about how she was not let it because she didn't have a mask - just 3 minutes earlier. Mickey reluctantly let her in the store. She told him that what he did was not fair. I agree with her. It seemed blatantly racist. All of the customers in the store also agreed. Once the other customer started to chime in , Mickey started to say , "Oh, here we go again...." That guy literally didn't see anything wrong with what he did. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed immediately.

The staff had the hard to find bourbons on the counter for quick grabbing and it was being grabbed! I got a few bottles and customers walking in behind did the same. This Virginia Beach store specializes on harder to find bourbon, but does not have a large amount of shelf space as the store is tiny. The stock was clean and organized and floors clean. Checkout was smooth with my credit card processing easily. The staff was nice to talk bourbon with. I plan on using this store in a regular rotation although it's not close to my home.

The store was super organized and the ladies were eagerly waiting to assist those that entered the store. I even witnessed an employee come from behind the counter to assist a customer looking for a particular spirit. I thought to myself, oh wow, this was over the top customer service. I have been in places before, and the employee just yells the aisle or points in the direction of the item. So this was refreshing to see. I needed help and the associate helped me :) I was looking for the miniature section and found what I needed. I would definitely recommend you check out this location. It's not super big inside, but you are sure to find something you like. It's in a great location as well. Near eateries and grocery shopping. I believe a gas station is nearby too. Great spot!
