My parents needed help moving to a 3 story walk up and at their age I was very worried they would hurt themselves trying to do it on their own. So after browsing Yelp I decided to splurge and booked You Move Me based on their solid reviews and also because they wear uniforms ! I noticed another company did not and I wasn't sure how comfortable I felt with random people going in and out of the home unidentified. So this was definitely a selling point for me. I called and although they didn't answer they did call back right away. They recommended a 4 person team which I agreed to and wanted pictures of the old place, new place , and bulky items so they would have a estimated time frame to work out other jobs they had that day. They do texting so this was super easy to communicate ! Another plus!!! Shortly after I received a contract via email which I signed and returned to them. The day of they came on time and did the entire move in 3 hours and 15 minutes. My parents told me they were nice and professional and constantly moving. These guys do not slack off at all. We had a whole house full of furniture and pre-packed boxes that all needed to go to storage so we could start our extensive renovation. We were worried about how much space we were going to need to stash all this stuff for 6-8 months. The four You Move Me guys showed up, analyzed the situation, and started packing our POD. Steve, who was the most experienced mover, was not only good at organizing the job but was hilarious, articulate, educated, and cheerful throughout. Jiren, technically the lead packer, fit everything into the space like a Tetris master. When we realized we were going to need another unit, Steve and Jiren calculated that we only needed a half size. They came back a week later, and sure enough, fit everything into the space they had recommended. Despite our steep driveway and some heavy (500 lb. safe) items, everything was packed without incident. They worked quickly, saving us from having to pay for an additional hour. The costs were exactly what they had explained in advance of the move. We were very pleased with their service and will use them to move back in after our construction. read more

It's always unfortunate to have to give a negative review to a business since times are tough especially due to the pandemic and we are all just trying to make ends meet. But it's hard for me to ignore something that could have potentially risked the safety of my family and dogs, which I think then makes all the other good stuff go out the window sadly. Good things about them: Impeccable customer service, no questions. Each person in the crew was very respectful, pleasant, and I would say just really really nice guys. The free Starbucks drink they bring to you is such a nice touch! From the beginning, communication was never an issue with them. Bad things about them: Apart from scratches and other little damage, why I chose to give them 1 star has to do with a lapse in their judgement or just a mistake which could've have really risked the safety of my family and dogs. So for our master bed, it had a completely cracked side rail that supports the slats (picture below) which the crew thought it was okay to just assemble it and put the mattress on top of it and walk away without informing me. So here's the really concerning issue: --The damage is a separate and secondary issue to discuss, before or after whatever, but to install it in that condition knowing that if anyone sat on it could collapse and put the safety of my family at risk is what really shocked me. Here's why: 1) I was not informed of the damage and the mover decided it was fine to just install it back and put the mattress on top of it and walk away. Pretty crazy, had I not checked underneath I wouldn't have known. 2) God forbid if a child/elderly sat on it and it collapsed. 3) I have my dogs sleep with us on the bed and our little 10-lb Maltese dog sometimes at night decides to go under the bed and around it. So now you're not only looking at the possibility of just some human getting hurt but my small dog dying instantly all because of a mistake, carelessness, or negligence. Call what you want but the result could have been devastating for my family. YouMoveMe have been in touch with me to resolve the issue and again like I said they are great at customer service but I just can't ignore this and not share my experience with others so they are aware to check for any installation done by their movers or just any mover you go with. read more

I recently had to move out of the 3 bedroom house I had been renting in St. Louis Height for nearly 27 years. You can imagine how much stuff I had accumulated over the years. Even after weeks of purging, I still had a lot of stuff to move. My house had a very steep driveway and stairs, so I knew it wasn't an easy job. I picked You Move Me because a friend of mine, named Jason, works there. i wanted to support the company my friend works for. I'm so glad I did. First off, they had excellent communication and follow-up. An estimator (Evelyn) came to the house to get a first-hand look at the job. She took pictures for reference and got back to me with a quote the same day. The quote and contract were clear and easy to review and sign online. On the day of the move, the four man crew showed up on time and ready to work. It had been raining and the first thing they noticed was that they didn't have good footing on the driveway. It became a safety concern and they thought they might have to cancel the job. Of course, that would have been a huge problem for me because my move out date was only five days away. They contacted the big boss and it was decided they would box-up everything I hadn't gotten to and reschedule the move to a day when they could bring a bigger crew or use a pick-up truck to shuttle everything down the driveway to the moving truck. A few days later they were back, and ready with a pick-up truck to conquer the driveway. And, Evelyn arrived with a Starbucks coffee for me. Jiren, Helby, Jamall, and Calisto were amazing. They worked so hard, but were cheerful and respectful the entire day. Using the pick-up they safely moved a massive amount of furniture and boxes with out hurting themselves or my things. It took longer and cost more than expected, but it was well worth it for the professional job they did, smiling the whole time. A few days after the move, Evelyn dropped by my new place with a plant for a house warming gift. I don't plan on moving again for a long time, but when I do, I will definitely use You Move Me. read more

I recently moved, which everyone knows is one of life's worst tasks, and hired You Move Me to move my biggest, heaviest pieces because I am a weak person who hates asking friends and family to help me move. Hired 2 men on a Saturday about a month ahead of time. Was a bit of a snag when they called me a couple fays beforw the big day to ask if I coukd change my time or day. Luckily, we were able to work out a time that was only 1 hour earlier than I originally booked. Guys arrived on time, were very courteous and respectful. Very careful with my items. It took a little longer than I thought it would, but the guys were super nice and professional about it and got things done as quickly and carefully as possible. There were only a couple of things missing, which could very well still be among my mess that is still unpacked, but nothing damaged and I am happy with the service. They're located right in the middle of Town behind HMSA/Walmart, so they were super convenient for a Townie like me, and also very reasonably priced. They still sent out an appraiser to provide an in person inspection and quote where other companies wanted to provide a quote over the phone. The crew was extremely courteous and took great care packing our things. You could tell that they didn't just see it as "stuff" but personal items they wanted to ensure made it to our new place without damage. They worked quickly and efficiently throughout the day. Management and ownership of You Move Me deserves a negative star rating. Unfortunate since the crew did a pretty decent job. Crew broke a floor lamp (things happen) and assured me at the end of the move that Jacob (their manager) will make arrangements to purchase a new lamp. I followed up 1 week following the move day to get an update. Jacob now wants to repair the lamp, which isn't repairable (see pictures). After getting assurances that it would be replaced, I threw away the lamp as I didn't want a broken floor lamp sitting in my living room. Today Jacob emails me to tell me he wants to go by the contract and pay me $9 based on the nominal reimbursement per pound since the lamp was thrown away. Additionally, just spoke to the lighting store where the lamp was purchased and found out the lamp wasn't fully repairable but was a bandaid fix, contradicting what Jacob had said. Terrible way of doing business over a $400 floor lamp ($362 on Amazon). Additionally, when I made arrangements for the move weeks ahead of the move date, I informed You Move Me that the new building requires either vaccinated or covid tested folks to enter the building. 2 of the 4 guys had neither so they wasted 30-40 minutes swapping out the unvaccinated staff which I did not make an issue of. My biggest pet peeve are business people who do not do the right thing. I asked the owner to call me and he pretty much took the same position of not wanting to do the right thing. This is a simple situation of a business that damaged something and decided to not remedy the issue and not do the right thing. Better to go with the larger local movers with accountability. read more

Hey all you cool cats and kittens. I wanted to share how amazing this company is. I initially booked another moving company to move my items from my house in Honolulu to Kapolei. That company kept changing their hourly rates and giving me the run around a few days before my move. That's when I decided to look elsewhere and stumbled upon You Move Me. I called them and ended up playing phone tag for a bit but Britney was nice enough to return my calls from her cell phone and book me for my move. Britney was very apologetic and professional when it came to booking my appointment and sharing with me that they were having phone issues with their new phone system. She truly provided me with great customer service at 7:30pm. I know it was past office hours but she called me back and ensured I was taken care of. BOOM! I was set up for my move. Well, the day finally arrived. I was told the movers would arrive around 2pm. I waited ... and waited ... 2:30 rolls around and I ended up getting in touch with Britney about mu scheduled appointment. Moments after I spoke with Britney, I received a phone call from Francis (operations manager) to explain that there was a miscommunication on their end with my scheduled move out. He advised he was pulling together a team to come out and assist with my move ASAP. That was about 2:45pm. Within 15 minutes Sam and Blaze showed up at my door ready to move my items. I was moved from Honolulu to Kapolei within 2 hours. Also, Francis was oversaw my move from his office and made sure to keep in contact with me from Start to finish. Exceptional service. Umm too bad they aren't military contracted for PCS moves because these guys were amazing. From my initial quote request on Yelp to correcting pricing for final payment, i have no complaints! I paid for 2 guys and lucked up with 3! (It was one guy's first day but I had no clue). They were fast, friendly, and was careful with my furniture and home. We had a hiccup reassembling my SleepNumber but they stayed until we were able to troubleshoot and fix the problem. I definitely recommend anyone to use them for local moves. I was given the date and time I requested and had follow up calls and emails. On the date, the team lead called 1/2 hour before and asked what kind of Starbucks we wanted! Great experience with Thaddeus and Blaze. They worked non stop to take all my heavy furniture down to the truck from a second story walk up to then drive it to another second floor walk up where they put everything in its place. I took measurements before so I knew exactly where they needed to be placed. They wrapped the furniture in padding to prevent dings and only got one small ding as a result which is pretty amazing as I have gotten small dings just moving furniture from one side of the room to another. A bird flew in to my new home and Blaze deftly coaxed it into his hand and released him outside. Overall, a very positive experience and would definitely use this company again. A big mahalo for making a move a lot less stressful. Also, I'm enjoying the plant. What kind is it BTW? read more
