"Delightful vegan restaurant on Crabtree Blvd in Raleigh"…read more I'd heard of this for years and was happy to finally give it a try on a Saturday for lunch ~1:30pm. The restaurant is a bit set off from a strip mall, and has a small outdoor seating area. The inside has high ceilings and is airy, and is nicely decorated (I also enjoyed the "sci-fi themed" wallpaper in one restroom stall). We were greeted quickly and given a table right away. The specials on the wall sounded amazing-- it was hard to believe they were all vegan with burgers, bbq, "chicken", and more on there. We opted for simple-- the special cantaloupe soup for an appetizer and burgers (impossible) for lunch. Mine came with chips, and my girlfriend's came with mac and cheese. Food came out in maybe 15 minutes. The cantaloupe soup was AMAZING... perfect for a summer day... super refreshing and tasty. The cheeseburgers were good too-- well dressed with an aioli, if I remember right, as well as fresh lettuce, tomatoes, etc. I appreciated that I didn't have to pop a lactase, too, since all vegan! The chips I think were store-made and were absolutely tasty-- we got a lot too and snacked off them for the next few days. And my girlfriend liked the mac and cheese. Service was friendly throughout, and cups were refilled. And I felt the prices were reasonable for what we got. Overall, I'd DEFINITELY come back and am eager to try some of their fake meat dishes like the BBQ.

Their new location is very nice and spacious and there's plenty of parking too! We got the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread, Grilled Romaine, Hearts of Palm & Lion's Mane "Crabcakes", and Southern Style Plate with BBQ "pork". The cornbread was so moist and the crabcakes were flavorful. The grilled romaine was a revelation - I loved whatever creamy sauce it came with, the candied nuts, and the smokiness of the romaine. The BBQ "pork" was probably my least favorite thing, but don't get me wrong, it was still tasty. We asked for a little more BBQ sauce to go with it and our waitress got it for us right away. The drinks were also fantastic! I got the Autumn Flare which was coconut water, housemade falernum syrup, pineapple juice, and lemon. So refreshing and yummy!

I came here for the High Tea I'd seen advertised on Instagram. I'd attempted to make a reservation…read moretwice- the first time I called and the person who answered the phone told me I could make an reservation online. I tried this, but the system wouldn't even let me try until 30 days in advance, which I did, but was told I wouldn't need a reservation on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm for two people. I showed up and half the staff seemed really confused until I pointed to the tiered plates on other tables, then they said "ohhh the tea party!" lol. They got someone else, who said she wasn't sure she could accommodate us because we didn't have a reservation! I showed her the email on my phone which said "your reservation request was denied" because we supposedly didn't need one. I wouldn't usually have been so insistent but my friend had driven like 40 minutes to hang out and have this plant-based experience. She ended up relenting and bringing us the "tea party." The tea cups were the size of a shot glass and the tea bag selection included Lipton. I think it would have cost them basically nothing to give everyone their own teapot so you could actually seep your own flavor of tea, or even a bigger mug. It was just a little silly. They also start you off with a cute little labeled pitcher of lemonade- so cute but I wish they would have continued with this theme of labels or else just given us a pitcher of water because I was really thirsty by the end. The food that was made in house was delicious- the vegan pimento cheese sandwiches (bread tasted kind of stale though), the samosas and other savory pastries were delicious. The star of the show for me was the flatbread- veggie with some sort of aioli on it- I just loved it! Then there were store bought crackers and jelly (not chutney as we'd hoped/thought) and some store bought cookies. They had homemade vegan baked goods there, so I wish they had just tried a little harder to have some on hand for the high tea experience. The ambience was not great for a high tea experience. It's fast-casual so you order your high tea at the counter. Also they had the door open so it was really hot and the pollen was coming in. All in all, I would return but definitely for take-out, never for the high tea. The cost per person was not commensurate to the experience I had. That's a bummer because with some very small tweaks they could have a great niche!

The…read moreorder taking process - not so welcoming as the lady taking the orders was clearly more into her phone than anything else on this slow day. I also used the restroom and the water line was spitting out as much air as water, so to ensure they were aware and too prevent a potential issue I told the lady at the front. She got pretty perturbed that I did this but went and informed the manager anyway - show as watching videos on her tablet and didn't seem to care. No bother for me, I just trying to be nice and make sure an issue didn't happen. The manager came over later and told me they were working on the pipes, causing the issue, nothing to worry about. The front desk person was completely put off, like I was complaining - which I wasn't. Kinda weird. Next order was a door dash a few days later and it seemed to be lacking the care pout into the in house order - but it wasn't bad. Food is good but my main reason not to return was the front counter person not wanting to see customers on a Sunday morning, makes for an awkward experience.

I figured I could have fare similar to the other trucks pretty easily any day of the week. I got a Crispy Herbed Oyster Mushroom Sammich (hemp cheddah cheeze, red onion, green leaf lettuce, roma tomato, sweet spicy sauce on a sesame seed chickpea flatbread) and was very happy with it. The taste and texture were great and I appreciate that they serve it wrapped in paper - it might stay warmer but it also stays together better. On the negative side, it's a little pricey and service was kind of slow. I saw sample menus before going to the event but there were no prices. Before I went, I actually thought I might get a side but the sides were expensive and made me believe they might not be "sides" but more like standalone entrees or perhaps a shareable side. Truth be known, I hit another truck for some $5 fries after I finished the sandwich. Most of the other trucks were swamped but this truck was not. Even still, it took about 20 minutes for me to get my food.

I was more in the mood for the gyoza across the way, but where else was I going to get a lunch specifically designed to balance my cells' pH levels? My mind was open (at least to the taste of the food, which was described deliciously, if not to the theory behind an alkaline diet) but the food was unfortunately so inedible that I had to go to another truck to get fed. The 'black garbanzo bean burgah's 'sesame seed kamut flatbread' had the exact texture of a sodden sponge, which gave the sandwich the impression of already having been chewed. It was impossible to tell what was going on with any of the other ingredients because they had become an indistinct mush. I could not have told you under threat of death what was in it. I thought frying it in oil later at home to get it crispy might help, but sadly, it did not. Goodbye, $15.

They offer a variety of cupcakes, cookies, and donuts, all plant based and gluten free, and everything I tried was incredible. The donuts especially stood out. I honestly didn't know a vegan donut could taste this amazing. They were soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and packed with flavor. Not dry or dense at all, just absolutely delicious. Whether you follow a vegan or gluten free diet or just love a great dessert, this bakery is 100 percent worth a visit. You would never guess these treats are vegan and gluten free. Highly recommend.

I decided to go with a cupcake variety. You don't get to pick what kinds you want. It's whatever they are baking that week, which worked fine. Half a dozen cupcakes are around $20, so I got four of them for $80, which was the right amount for 18 people, with leftovers. Do note that the website calls them "party size". I didn't know what that meant, so I called. It means regular size, which was a good thing at that price LOL. I was glad party size wasn't mini ones. Loved that I was able to order them via their website in advance. They were nicely boxed and ready for me when I arrived Saturday morning to pick them up. Easy breezy. And they were a hit unlike previous vegan cakes I've bought in the past from other places. I asked them to remind me what flavors they were and she suggested I take pics so I could let our guests know. So the attached pics show the yummy flavors.

Everything was seasoned well, what was supposed to be crispy was very crispy, what was supposed to be rich was very rich. The reason I rate this place 5 stars is because of the creativity in their drumsticks. Although I know I'm not having chicken, it basically tasted like chicken. It had a wonderfully crispy outer skin, and they even put a thick skewer stick in the middle of it to simulate a chicken bone. I thought this small detail was genius, and honestly sold the entire plate for me instantly. Will definitely be back to try other things.

I was also impressed by the wide variety of dessert options available, which made the experience even better. It's not always easy to find vegan desserts with both quality and selection, but they definitely delivered. This place is truly a gem, and I will definitely be back again.
