I booked two 90-minute massages for my mother and myself. My mother had Nok (which means "bird" in Thai), and I had Amy. Being Thai, I'm admittedly very particular--and sometimes hesitant--when choosing a Thai massage place, especially since I've had some excellent massages in Thailand. Sparadise offers a combination of traditional Thai massage techniques along with what I believe are elements of Swedish massage. When Amy asked if I was okay with her stepping on my back (legs and arms too), I was a little hesitant at first, but decided to go with it. I'm so glad I did! She was able to work deeply into some very tight areas and really knew how to release the tension. My mother was equally complimentary of Nok and said she thoroughly enjoyed her massage as well. Beyond the massages themselves, Sparadise is exceptionally clean, and the receptionist/manager was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The therapists I've worked with have always been knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely attentive. They take the time to listen to my concerns before each session and tailor the treatment accordingly. I always leave feeling significantly better than when I walked in, and that's why I've remained a loyal customer for so many years. Unfortunately, I recently learned that IMR is now charging a 3% surcharge for credit card payments, and I have to say, it really annoys me. In today's world, paying with a credit card is the norm, and accepting those processing fees has traditionally just been part of the cost of doing business. Seeing that expense passed directly on to loyal customers--especially members--was disappointing. I truly enjoy supporting this business and would much rather continue my membership, but this new surcharge has honestly made me question whether I want to keep it. It's unfortunate because the quality of the massages has never been the issue. I sincerely hope they reconsider this policy, because it's the one thing that's making me think twice about continuing as a member.
