I asked if its normal why am I in this pain?he then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to go through the what he thought was unnecessary process of drinking the liquid and waiting for a CT scan I could but he didnt think I needed it. Now it was midnight and he treated me like a nuisance. So I told him I'd go to another doctor that actually cared to figure out what was wrong and signed myself out. Now as I type this I'm laying in a hospital bed because I was admitted last night and needed emergency appendix surgery as my appendix was filled with pus. Had this doctor before actually cared to do his job or show me any compassion it probably could have been caught earlier and I wouldn't have been in debilitating pain for the past two weeks. I was nervous to come back here but had no choice...this time nurses and doctors are better though.

From basic treatments and checkups to their 24/hour on call services, we've been extremely satisfied in every way. First on Dr. Beth and Jessel. They are both extraordinary and I'm never concerned getting scheduled with either one. They are knowledgable, caring, sensitive and sweet with our kids and bring that same level of care when you have to call them at 3 am with a screaming baby. I get the sense Jessel may be more experienced, but it honestly hasn't mattered who we see. But I suppose for a really serious matter that's who I'd want to talk to. The staff at the office is also great. I've gotten great over the phone help from nurses and even the crew behind the desk is very nice. And overall the office is cheery and nicely decorated. Finally, when my wife gave birth to our second, we never got to St. Peter's hospital where they have rounds and instead had to go to RWJ in Somerville. Even though they couldn't go into the hospital to see us, we got fabulous support from Dr. Jessel when the baby was having some difficulties. She was available on the phone, super supportive and provided our baby wonderful care. Can you tell we love them? My wife and I say that nearly every time we leave.

Dr. Jessel now has her own practice in a beautiful new office in Bridgewater (by the Bridgewater Mall). Her calm demeanor, professionalism and knowledge of pediatric medicine are excellent. She has worked with us very closely through medical issues with our second child and gives us the comfort of knowing we are getting the best care possible for our children. She is extremely responsive and always makes us feel like our concerns are important. We recommend her highly to anyone looking for a pediatrician as an expecting parent, parents who are new to the area or are looking for a new doctor for their children. Finally, I love the patient portal which allows me to see my children's upcoming appointments, check in for an appointment, see their medical history, request a refill and send questions directly to Dr. Jessel. We are extremely happy with the care our children receive from Dr. Jessel.

GRWM to get my first mammogram!…read more I'm mad old - knocking on 45 and haven't had one yet. That's what medical racism and fatphobia do tho. However it was a PSA from Ananda Lewis to Black women and then my bestie who reminded me that the world is trying to kill Black women - why make it easy for them - that finally nudged me in the right direction. What I LOVED about this experience: -Steeplechase allows patients to schedule appointments without a doctor's prescription. Regular screening mammograms do not require a *referral* but many places do require a script. I went to the equivalent of a big box imaging center 2 days ago but needed a script and didn't have one. But check it - finances and time are a barrier. It's ridiculous to have patients pay to be seen by a doctor just to get a piece of paper to come get the mammogram and I wasn't doing it. In the Steeplechase model, I can make my own appt without the script and it will be up to me to send the imaging results to my doctor to have them reviewed. I'm OK with that. -It's attached to the hospital. In my experience equipment and extras like clothing, routine devices, etc. are more modern and inclusive at hospitals. -Related to the point above, bench style seating and a variety of gown sizes. -Calming, soothing environment. I'm sure there are people here getting the worst news of their lives. And others like me just trying to be a fully functioning adult. Whatever the case, it was nice to step into a quiet, clean space free from the pressures of the outside world. -Everyone was really nice - from the people working the visitor station downstairs, to the reception area inside and the medical provider who walked me through each step of the imaging. -It was pain free. I've heard these tests are awful but me and my melons were chill and handled with care. -Free parking Can I admit something? I've stayed away from this hospital since the Cullen case 2 decades ago. However, I'm glad I got over that and came here for this procedure. Not having one done has weighed on me for the better part of 5 years. Fingers crossed for the results. In the meantime, if you need one and especially if you are a woman of color and/or have a bigger body, come here! You will be treated with dignity and respect.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel people should know about my experience at Steeplechase Cancer…read moreCenter. I requested a simple letter for my financial aid office explaining my medical situation. I was told it would take 5-7 days. On the 7th day, I went in person to check on it, but they told me it wasn't ready. I waited longer, and when I finally went back after more than 8 days, I was told the person who was supposed to write my letter had completely forgotten about it. They then wrote it in less than 10 minutes while I was standing there. The receptionist excused her coworker by saying she was "human" and sick--while I, a cancer patient, was the one waiting for this letter so I could continue my education and try to live a normal life. Instead of professionalism, I received excuses. When I finally got the letter, it was extremely unprofessional. The grammar was poor, sentences were incomplete, and it looked rushed and careless. For something so important, this was unacceptable. If a cancer center can't even respect patient timeframes or produce a proper letter, how are patients supposed to trust them with bigger responsibilities? What frustrates me most is that the administration often implies that "patients are the problem," when in reality the administration is the problem. Patients battling cancer already have enough to deal with--we should not have to fight to get basic paperwork done correctly and on time. This office needs to take patient needs and time much more seriously. 1/10 HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
