I asked if its normal why am I in this pain?he then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to go through the what he thought was unnecessary process of drinking the liquid and waiting for a CT scan I could but he didnt think I needed it. Now it was midnight and he treated me like a nuisance. So I told him I'd go to another doctor that actually cared to figure out what was wrong and signed myself out. Now as I type this I'm laying in a hospital bed because I was admitted last night and needed emergency appendix surgery as my appendix was filled with pus. Had this doctor before actually cared to do his job or show me any compassion it probably could have been caught earlier and I wouldn't have been in debilitating pain for the past two weeks. I was nervous to come back here but had no choice...this time nurses and doctors are better though.

I've been told by Somerville police the hospital doesn't cooperate with the local police! They know they stole the ring and the three are still employed there! From basic treatments and checkups to their 24/hour on call services, we've been extremely satisfied in every way. First on Dr. Beth and Jessel. They are both extraordinary and I'm never concerned getting scheduled with either one. They are knowledgable, caring, sensitive and sweet with our kids and bring that same level of care when you have to call them at 3 am with a screaming baby. I get the sense Jessel may be more experienced, but it honestly hasn't mattered who we see. But I suppose for a really serious matter that's who I'd want to talk to. The staff at the office is also great. I've gotten great over the phone help from nurses and even the crew behind the desk is very nice. And overall the office is cheery and nicely decorated. Finally, when my wife gave birth to our second, we never got to St. Peter's hospital where they have rounds and instead had to go to RWJ in Somerville. Even though they couldn't go into the hospital to see us, we got fabulous support from Dr. Jessel when the baby was having some difficulties. She was available on the phone, super supportive and provided our baby wonderful care. Can you tell we love them? My wife and I say that nearly every time we leave.

Dr. Jessel now has her own practice in a beautiful new office in Bridgewater (by the Bridgewater Mall). Her calm demeanor, professionalism and knowledge of pediatric medicine are excellent. She has worked with us very closely through medical issues with our second child and gives us the comfort of knowing we are getting the best care possible for our children. She is extremely responsive and always makes us feel like our concerns are important. We recommend her highly to anyone looking for a pediatrician as an expecting parent, parents who are new to the area or are looking for a new doctor for their children. Finally, I love the patient portal which allows me to see my children's upcoming appointments, check in for an appointment, see their medical history, request a refill and send questions directly to Dr. Jessel. We are extremely happy with the care our children receive from Dr. Jessel.

Place is fine, seemed efficient. I'm having trouble with the medications prescribed to me by the…read morenurse practitioner. (Note - physician is there only on Wednesdays, other days you get a NP or PA). I went with a cold, runny nose, and cough, which had lasted 4 days, and had a fever of 101.5 (per their thermometer, I did not feel feverish in the least, nor did I look it). Anyway, prescription was for CEFDINIR 300 mg (antibiotic) for 7 days, Benzonatate 100 mg (for cough. I asked why not Robitussin or DayQuil/NyQuil but she couldn't provide a reason), Desloratadine 5mg (for seasonal allergies, which I have never had in my life and which I wasn't even asked about), and Fluticasone Propionate (Nasal spray, which is a corticosteroid). My copay to the prescriptions - almost $60. (The last 2 were $25 each) I talked to the pharmacist and decided to not pick those 2 up. I'm no doctor but I didn't want to take medication for something I don't even have (seasonal allergies) nor a steroid. Seemed massive overkill to me. But here is the kicker - please Google CEFDINIR. The reviews are abysmal, overall rating 2.0, some much lower, and user after user describe their horror stories of awful side effects that persisted for months. Luckily, I read them before taking the first dose. I'm going to stay miles away and will see my primary on Monday - only went here coz it was the weekend. So Nurse Practitioner Maria, you're a very nice person but please explain why you prescribed CEFDINIR with its horrendous reviews (are you not aware of its side-effects and rating?) when perfectly good antibiotics that have been used for 50, 60 years are available? And why did you prescribe an antihistamine and a super expensive nasal spray when perfectly good ones are available off the shelf? And oh - the nurse who took my vitals, very nice young woman, could neither read nor pronounce the names of the regular medications I am on on a daily basis - she struggled and I said the names for her. I wish I had stayed at home and continued with Tylenol and DayQuil instead of wasting $45 on the clinic co-pay. Needless to say, I wouldn't be going there again.

Over time, service has gotten slower and slower, especially post-Covid. Anyways, I made an appointment at 8am yesterday, for 1:58pm to take my 2yo in for extreme congestion, and a suspected ear infection. Website said to arrive 10-15min early, yet as I pulled out my driveway at 1:45pm (4 min drive), I got a text saying they were 16 min behind (new appointment time: 2:13) Annoying, but no big deal. I get there and ask to wait in the car since my kid is little and I don't want him exposed to more than he needs to be. Front desk lady says ok and we'll message you when time. I go back to the car and wait until 230pm. At this point, we are 32 min past my original appointment time. As an adult, I'd be annoyed, but I'd deal, however, my 2yo son has skipped nap to be seen and is crying, so I go back inside. Nurse happens to be up front and is NOT happy I'm asking and makes that VERY clear. She even made a point to tell me "This is an Urgent Care" as if I had no idea. (It's important to note, this was midday and the place was practically empty). Anyways, we're finally seen around 240pm and Dr. Scherb was great. My son was very comfortable with her and loved her. Whatever she prescribed worked great, and now, only 24hrs later, he's on the mend. Just wish the support staff were a little more friendly and understanding. I don't want preferential treatment, but I'd think a screaming 2yo, half hour past his appointment time, isn't a reason to give an attitude. Just saying.
