As a disclaimer, Young's Dry Cleaner is not my normal go to dry cleaning service, as I have been using the same dry cleaner since 1998. However, with the ever-challenging COVID-19 pandemic, my regular dry cleaner is now open using shortened hours of operation. Unfortunately, these temporary hours of operation do not fall within my current work schedule and I needed a temporary alternative. Young's Dry Cleaners is actually conveniently located within 1 mile of my residence and their slightly adjusted hours of operation still allow me to make it there before they close. The facility is actually a store front as all the cleaning is done offsite in New Orleans East off Haynes Blvd. However, their delivery driver makes daily pickups, therefore, the clean clothes are always being delivered to the store. The 2 female employees whom I have had contact with are both very friendly and would make any employer happy to have them, as their courtesy and professionalism are second to none. Although not my permanent go to place, I have zero complaints and am satisfied with the service and finished product. read more

Three times now I have brought items in to be shortened and they dry cleaned them instead. Since I refuse to pay for something I didn't ask for, the owners are inevitably losing money. I've been a customer of Young's for a couple of years now, and if I had written this review in the beginning it would read much differently. I was unhappy with the service provided and the general attitude of the employees was pretty negative. I only stuck around because Young's is so convenient, and I wasn't having much luck finding another cleaners that I was happy with. Luckily Young's hired new staff and things have turned around. My clothes come back clean, and the turn times are pretty fast. The staff seems happy and is always friendly. They offer customers coffee (Keurig), bottled water, and there is a box of complimentary snacks to choose from. I usually grab a granola bar and bottle of water on my way out. Nice touch, Young's. If you can't make it into the store, they offer complimentary drop off and pick up. This may sound crazy, but I've always had this idea that dry cleaning is sort of a luxury, so to walk into Young's and know that they recognize it as such, and treat it that way, makes me feel like we're on the same page. read more

I like this cleaners. Very professional. Had only one issue but they were more than workable to resolve it. But, I find them very pricey.

First time I tried this place out and I won't be coming back. The whole point of dry cleaning my clothes is so that I don't have to wash and iron them. Brought in three shirts and a 2pc suit. The suit lapel was completely bent out of shape- hopefully I can steam it so it lays back down, and there were three white spots on the back above the shoulders where it looks like some chemicals were spilled and discolored the suit jacket. The shirt collars were bent up similar to the suit lapel- again hopefully I can steam it to lay flat. The white shirt had two dark spots on the front collar in the same place on each side. I had forgotten to remove the collar stays on the black shirt and apparently one was out and one was in because the collar on the black shirt now has a permanent shiny spot in the shape of a collar stay. I always try to remove my collar stays but as a dry cleaner the least you could do is check them before you press the shirts. Just dropped off some other items when I picked these up and I'm calling them first thing on Monday to tell them not to touch my clothes. I'll take them somewhere else. read more

When asked to not not have that conversation in front of me they continued to argue calling others offensive names, then of course the argument involved myself because I spoke up. For the price of cleaning services, I can pick somewhere else that will appreciate being at work and customer service. I really, really hate leaving bad reviews, but like one of my fellow Yelpers said, "this is long overdue." I have lived in many different cities across the U.S. and each time I relocate one of the things I dread the most is finding a new dry cleaners (and somewhere to get a haircut, but I'll save that for another review). I have no problem paying a premium for getting my clothes cleaned and pressed, but when I have to pay a high price and consistently get my clothing back missing buttons, without being properly pressed, or missing all-together... well, needless to say I'm done using this place. Just recently I decided to try a new cleaners (I normally go on Elysian Fields across from McDonald's) to dropped off total of 7 pieces. And of those I had 4 tops with stains. Normal stains nothing out the ordinary! ...Few days later to pick up, still all stains there! I'm wondering "did you guys even attempt???" I study fashion and I understand textiles plus it doesn't takes a brain surgeon to know stains can come out when taken to dry cleaners or when you do it yourself. Anyhow, I asked kindly for a refund on the four items that didn't have stains taken out, they said the manager will need to contact me. (out this ordeal I maintained my cool. I was very kind and patient.) Monday, 3/25/13, Troy, the manager, started out pleasant, then when I said I'm unsatisfied and simply like a refund, he, of course did his job of wanting to re-clean at no charge but still there is no guarantee stains will come out. Another possibility of stains being present with damage to clothing because of "special treatment". Honestly, I'm venting out because I decided to try out a long time local business and this is the kind of service I get in return. Now I stuck with paying them the $48.41 plus bringing clothes back to EXPERTS and paying a new bill. Thank you Young's Cleaners on Harrison! Last week I took a church vestment to Young's Cleaners hoping they could get wax (spilled from the Easter candle) off the front center panel and on the sleeve. I was told it would likely leave an oil stain. I got an email saying the item was ready a day earlier than promised. When I went to pick up the vestment it looked beautiful- wax and other stains were gone. The dry cleaning only cost $14 which matched the estimated cost quoted when I dropped off the garment. WARNING! Do not go tot his place unless you want your clothes completely ruined. Looks like they threw them in the dryer. Embellishments on 2 delicate dresses came back in a tangled disaster and falling apart. I am so upset! I was supposed to wear these to an important family event in Montreal tomorrow and they are totally ruined. They actually had the nerve to charge me 80$ dry cleaning bill on top of it all. Computer system mistakenly assigned a "ready" time when the store was closed on a Saturday. Emailed the owners in a sour mood as I planned to wear the suit that evening and got an almost immediate response by email and phone. Owner picked up the suit himself, after hours, and delivered to my house. Can't do much more than that to turn a negative into a positive. We applaud the effort and hope the future visits aren't as adventurous. read more

I just had to take the time to write this review, which is long overdue. The cleaning is perfunctory. Don't count on any stains being removed. On one occasion I took my cleaning, still in the bag, uptown to Liberto's to have the job done right. Why do I keep coming back to this place? Because it is in my neighborhood. Today the alterations I ordered finally came back, 2 weeks late. I asked for 2 skirts to be hemmed. Both jobs were so terrible I can't wear the clothes. So yet again, I am asking the manager to give me the altered clothes, unpaid for, to take them to Liberto's. I guess I have finally learned my lesson. read more

Horrible customer service! If you drop off something to one location why do you have to go their other location? I dropped off a rug to the Lakeview location and they had no record of my rug. They said since it was a rug it was brought to their Gentilly location and that is where I would have to go to pick it up. I was not told this when I dropped it off. It was a waste of my time to go to the Lakeview location (which is near where I live) and then have to drive to the Gentilly location. Never using them again. read more

a waste of time and money... brought a dolce gabbana suit in for cleaning and pressing a week before christmas. the suit had more wrinkles then when i brought it in and dog hair on the jacket. this business is a scam at best. i spent 3 hours pressing the suit by hand and getting dog hair off. everything you read on the young's web site is a lie. there is no attention to detail and no pride in their service. young's is simply out to make a buck. new orleans deserves better. if you want to waste your money, this is the place ! read more
