Run away and go anywhere else! I came in with two wedding dresses. I needed one back in three weeks for an event so I ask if they'll call when they're done. The lady behind the register laughed and was like probably no but they should be done by next week. Try calling Tuesday. While waiting on an employee an office in the room looks over and says "they've really raised their prices since they've changed owners." I'm still optimistic. I call a week later, no answer, no voicemail. I try again in a few days and nothing. I go in in person. There's a different woman behind the counter and am told they haven't been started and there's no way they would have been done in a week and a half. No problem but I do need one next week for an event and tell her which one. She says she will make a note. Two days before then event still no word. I try calling and nothing. I try again and get someone!! They can have it don't a few house before my event. That's fine, I'm grateful. I show up and It's $160... I asked about pricing. She said the dresses are $100 each. I was like but this is just for the one dress? Yes she says. No explanation why I'm being charged an extra $60. (Is it a "rush" fee for a dress they had for 3 weeks?! No clue) I notice almost immediately there are brown streaks on the back on the bodice of my dress. They almost look heat related but I'm not an expert. I point it out and she shrugs. I ask if the other dress has been started. I get a long I don't know response and it would be difficult to find out. I ask for it back. She has it within a few minutes... She hands it to me in a pile. I had both of the dresses hung and in garnet bags when I came to the cleaners. I ask for those and at first am met with resistance but then another employee points out where they are and she give them to me. I hope my dress isn't ruined but it looks like it might be. Moreover, upon pick up, additional stains were present on the lapel, area near the bottom right pocket, and rear of jacket. The owner preferred to argue and place blame on the jacket's material and design rather than accept responsibility for his lack of cleaning skills. An apology was never offered. I've sent my clothes to Deluxe for over 20 years and always felt like I was paying more for the best. But in the past year, I've been paying more for bad service, and bad dry cleaning. For years now, every week I'd send them half a dozen or so of my shirts, and a couple of my wife's dresses. They used to come back perfect - always. Then earlier this year, clothes started coming back with problems: collars with lines in them, new stains, cracked buttons, wrinkles. Politely, I kept pointing this out and asking them to do better next time. I never made a big fuss, or demanded a refund. But the quality just got worse and worse. Not wanting to have to change dry cleaners, I had an idea, and so called up and asked if I could just pay extra for them do a better job with my shirts, maybe have someone check double check before they go out. And the response back from the manager (Mark) was, literally "I'm tired of spending so much time on your shirts - you can take them somewhere else." So of course I did. I'm not sure exactly what's changed at what I used to think was the best dry cleaner in town, but it may have something to do with the family owner Dan Duplass retiring. I'm not sure if Mark is in the family, but he certainly doesn't treat customers as though his name is on the door. read more

DeLuxe is going downhill. Used to be open on the weekends and has moved to weekday only. Even on weekdays, the hours are inconsistent. They have a stated opening of 7:30 AM, but often times will not open up until long after. Their posted phone number goes to a fax machine. I have been using this cleaners for two decades and had no problems with them until this week. I dropped clothes off on a Wednesday and was told they would be ready Saturday. When I arrived Saturday the clothes weren't ready, and I was told they could not tell me when they would be ready. I asked for the clothes back because I cannot just leave my clothes with a cleaner indefinitely. I was told this was impossible because they were "mixed in" with other clothes-- but again, no answer as to when these clothes would be clean. I spoke on the phone to the manager-- who I told I understood that things are difficult right now for all businesses and just wanted an answer or my clothes back. He immediately started yelling at me, doubting the day I told him I dropped the clothes off, and also refusing to guarantee a day on which I would get the clothes back. Apparently they are only cleaning one day a week during COVID-- which I understand, but I was not told this until my clothes weren't ready. And regardless, even with one day a week cleaning, there should be answers for customers as to when their clothes were ready, without yelling. All in all, this was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced and I will be taking my business elsewhere-- I recommend others do the same. read more

I must admit that I don't need things dry-cleaned often, so when I needed the services of a dry cleaner I searched around on here, and then asked my neighbor, and I was directed to this place. The Good: They did a freakin' amazing job on the pieces that I brought in to them. I really didn't have high expectations for a few of my satin curtains which had been cleaned NEVER in the many, many years that they had been hanging in my cat-filled home. They are beautiful now. (5-star-job) The Bad: I asked how much some of the work was going to be when I dropped the items off. The gal behind the counter said, "I have NO idea." I asked, "You can't give me some sort of clue? A rough estimate? A window? Nothing?" "I don't know how much they charge for 'household items'", she claimed. (Minus one star for no List of Services with any sort of pricing scale.) The Ugly: I almost had a heart-attack when the total bill came to over $130 for a dress, with a little bolero jacket, and 6 standard-sized curtain panels. And then, they don't take Amex, so we had to go home and get more money and come back. (Minus one more star for not taking Amex when you want to collect more than $100 per transaction.) Overall, they did great work, and I am very thankful I don't need dry cleaning more often. read more

I have been a customer of Delux for 20 years. In March of 2020 they lost a pair of pants I had recently purchased. I understand that these happen. It is not that the cleaners made a mistake, it is how they have mishandled the follow up that is the concern. Since March I have called the store many times to reported this claim. I have been to the store three times in person and provided a receipt for the pants. Through all of this I have I have never even received a return phone call from the manager or owner. So DISAPPOINTED! I dropped off my daughter's wedding gown on June 17th, 2020 (4 days after my daughter's wedding.) The gown was very dirty on the bottom so I spoke with Mark regarding my concern about cleaning it, He said it was good that I brought it in early because the stain hasn't set in yet. He stated they can clean it but it would probably take a few cleanings. Usually pickup time is 3 weeks but I was told that it would probably take a little longer due to the extra cleaning needed. I stated that I'm not in a hurry so that was no problem. After cleaning it, it was to be heir-loomed as well. After 6 weeks I called to see if it was ready. My "Mother-of-the-Bride" gown was ready but not the wedding. At 8 weeks I called again and was told by an employee that they haven't started cleaning wedding gowns yet. She stated that she would find out what was going on and call me right back. No call back, The following morning I called and asked to please have the owner call me so I can find out what its going on with the wedding gown. At this point my main concern was that the dress has now sat for 8 weeks and the stain has now set. Again, no call from the owner. Long story short, after speaking with the manager and getting yet another story, and leaving 5 messages for the owner to please call me, I never received a phone call. Today, August 22, 2020 I went and picked up my finished cleaned gown and the wedding gown that had not been touched for 9 weeks. I totally understand that with COVID everything is taking more time. That was not my complaint, I just do not understand why the owner didn't care enough to call and speak to me. I was now worried something had happened to the gown. Never use this place! Not only can they not deliver on dates promised, they have terrible customer service. I paid $100 to have four panels of drapes cleaned, which they returned (2 weeks late) with holes and half the pleats missing. They also had crusty yellow spots on them as if they hadn't been cleaned. When I spoke to the owner he told me it wasnt his problem. He doesn't guarantee his work. He wouldn't refund the fee let alone fix his mistake. New Orleans is a small town. I've used this cleaners for various gowns for quite some time- mediocre at best, yet thought I could trust them with my McGuire jeans and White silk pants. Think I may have found my go to dry cleaning place! Compared to the last place I used to frequent, DeLuxe's prices seem to be roughly 30 cents cheaper but the biggest benefit of switching to DeLuxe is their turnaround time! I dropped something off Wednesday morning and is was ready for pickup Friday after 4. This is the fastest turn around I've come across for "non-rushed" pricing. As far as customer service, no one was remarkably friendly or rude. Looking forward to establishing a loyal customer rapport with these folks. read more

First time using their service. I thought the staff was friendly and the pricing was competitive compared to other local dry cleaners. I had a white linen suit with some stains on the pant legs - they marked stained areas with stickers beforehand. They called to let me know that the stains didn't come out with just dry cleaning and asked if I would authorize them to soak the suit. I said OK. Most of the stained areas came out or where lightened and now the suit is sparkling white. I don't expect my dry cleaners to be miracle workers - some stuff just won't come out on white. But I appreciated the extra attention and communication during the process and I will be trying them again in future! read more

I love Deluxe, the only thing issue I have with them is their location. This can be easily fixed by me, however, by getting on the list of their laundry pick up & delivery service. They took my wedding dress, which I tried to "trash" the night of my wedding, and cleaned it. Now it's completely spotless. Dry cleaning is one of those enigmatic things I will never understand. I assume they go behind the curtain and spray an industrial strength Febreze on my clothes, iron them and return them to me. But if you pay good money for your clothes, you should probably listen to their tags. DeLuxe has been in the biz in NOLA foreva'. While most dry cleaners tend to look a little like sweatshops with a giant mechanical clothes hanger packed to the gills with thousands of pressed garments, DeLuxe is probably the nicest, most presentable dry cleaners I've ever frequented. I probably bring clothes to the dry cleaner 2 to 4 times a year, and an occasional gown after Mardi Gras shenanigans. For 6 items, one of which had to be repaired and multiple silks, it came out to be a little over $60. For a couple of times a year, I don't think this is too shabby. The sew job was $7, but it wasn't getting done by me, so I thought that was reasonable. I'm not a huge fan of the uncertainty of how much it's going to cost. What I've found is men's shirts and jackets aren't too pricey, but once you start getting into dresses and silks, that's where you're stacking your bill. But again, I've hand-washed my silks thinking that was fine, and boy is that a no no. The reason for the A-OK is because I had borrowed a dress from a friend for a wedding. She needed it fairly soon after the ball so I brought it here and was told to pick it up a week later. Come back a week later, and they tell me it's not done yet, come back in a couple days. I'm back in a couple of days, and it seems as though they have misplaced it. This is with a reception area full of other clients, so there wasn't really any conversation about what happened to the dress, just that I should come back at a later date...A couple of days later, they find it. It was probably the most non-descript dress ever, floor-length black satin, but when they're asking what the dress looks like, most likely because the tag was misplaced, it causes a bit of anxiety. Once I did get the dress, there was no discount what-so-ever. I worked out my schedule to come in on 3 separate occasions, and thought that warranted some sort of recompense. My suggestion to anyone bringing garments to a dry cleaner, photograph each item before handing it over, in case of situations like this. I still go here, because I still do believe in the brand, it's close to where I live and it's not that often. Some of the other services they provide are fur cleaning and storage (since the women of New Orleans need furs for our oh-so-cold winters ;) ) and 24 hr drop-off, pretty solid if you dry clean often. read more

I brought in a light colored dress from a Mardi Gras ball that had multiple stains on it and was warned that they may not be able to get them out. I went out of my way to get curtains dry-cleaned here because I'd heard these guys were pros. Deluxe returned my curtains with two big rips in them, acknowledged that the damage was their fault, and had the gall to make me pay for 100% of the dry-cleaning charge! They wouldn't let me leave with my stuff otherwise. Sure, I signed the waiver that absolved Deluxe of any damage (otherwise they wouldn't have cleaned the curtains), but if they're going to ruin something, I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay for it. For the first time in a very long time, I've had to seek out something a step above the cheapest dry cleaners down the street. Enter DeLuxe, as recommended by my extremely dapper boyfriend. They do a consistently good job with my dry cleaning, and even though they usually try to manage my expectations when I mention issues like odor or stains, they often do a knockout job of handling my issues. It's a bit more expensive than many very cheap neighborhood cleaners, but for nicer suits or vintage clothes, it's worth it. read more

I was in town for a wedding & needed my suit ready with just a day's notice. I was referred to Deluxe because I was told, and I quote, "They're the best in town". Praise God I listened and came here instead of checking their Yelp page first! The problem with Yelp is... The only reason anyone feels passionate enough to write an online review about a Dry Cleaners is if they have a horrible experience. I mean... You drop off your clothes... They clean them... Horrible experience!! All started when I had some curtains altered and wasn't given a price when I dropped them off. I assumed it would be $20ish per curtain, since it was only a hymn job, and I had have similar work done before. Ended up costing almost $400 for 6 curtains. I told them to just keep them as it was almost 3 times the cost of the curtains. The clerk was very nice and understood my predicament and let me go on my way. A few days later I get a call from the owner (I presume), essentially calling me a horrible person for sticking him with these curtains and banished me from the store lol. When I tried to explain that I was not given an initial price estimate, I was called a "liar and a thief". Extremely overpriced and psychotic owner. Would recommend taking your business elsewhere. Edit: I don't think you understand the definition of hoodwinked. Given we were told that the price would have been $400 for the job, we would have said no thanks. If anyone was deceived, it was my mother; whom was having some old drapes of hers redone for me as a gift. Do you think our initial intention was to deceive you out of your $400? That doesn't even make logical sense, if she had known even an approximation of the cost then we wouldn't have "contracted" with your establishment to have the work done. None of us are in the alteration business and are not aware of the costs associated with such a job; thusly we made an incorrect assumption that the price would be similar to some hemm work that my mother had gotten done previously. And you actually did receive partial payment. My girlfriend went by to pick them up and paid $140, assuming that was the cost for all of them even though she was only picking up the two that day. When she went back to get the rest, your clerk wouldn't even let her check out because the price was so high; an additional $260ish I believe. Again, our intention was never to stick you with the bill, it was to have some cheap drapes hemmed in order to save some money instead of buying new ones. DeLuxe completely destroyed an expensive long white graduation dress that was worn once. It was truly shocking and according to the person who made it, it was unbelievably mishandled. The only dirt was at the very bottom of the dress. The dress had flowers hand sewn on it. The dress was put it in a vat and spun it which ripped off 5 of the flowers. The others flowers that managed to stay on the dress were all ruined. They were rumpled so they pressed them. Not only did they ruin the rest of the flowers this way but they also burned the dress with the iron. They claim I signed a release which I did and therefore it was "not there fault". They were incredibly rude and defensive. You bring a dress to place like this because they are supposed to be the specialist. They clearly gave it to someone in the back who had no idea what they were doing. Do not use DeLuxe Laundry ANYTHING. Avoid it like the plague. Had the pleasure, and I use that term loosely, of speaking with the owner as a response to a letter I sent to the company about a disturbing incident I experienced at the hands of his organization. He began the call with a lie saying I am a hard person to get in contact with...interesting because I answered on the first ring! I tried to diffuse his senseless tactic of placing all blame on the customer with saying well I thank you for calling me today. However, being reasonable and behaving respectfully was not in his interest as he immediately began to insult me. And boasting about out of his 3000 customers I am the only unhappy one. It was an extremely bullish conversation with me not having an opportunity to talk about what happened. I wish I would have ended the conversation much earlier but honestly, I was stunned and shocked by his behavior. Needless to say that the issue of having my clothes cleaned again or any other offered solution did not happen. Do not use their services. However, my bank card was declined secondary to extra security provided by my bank (thank goodness for the extra security), and before I could explain the problem, the woman behind the counter shouts "No, it is declined. You can't use this card." What happened to customer service? Further, I was supposed to have a pair of dress pants altered. When I put the altered pants on, it was apparent that either the alteration was done poorly or not at all.
