Wow!Wow!Wow!! my husband and I went to Young's nursery yesterday because we had heard that it sold and the prices were much better than before, affordable. And I've always loved Young's nursery, but I really couldn't afford to buy anything there. I was just always going and looking and drooling over the beautiful plants and yard art but when we went yesterday, I was actually able to make purchases. They have reduced their prices, and that store was busting with people and people were making purchases!! I think they might have to get more registers, there was a big line to check out. Young's Garden Center is on Stephens heading away from town past the Costco store. They have a large greenhouse type building, a huge outdoor area and a garden store. is very large with all manner of plants, shrubs and trees. It has a large indoor area with tropical and indoor plants and those that like the warmer temps inside during the winter. They also have pots, garden and outdoor decor, containers, gardening tools, seeds, soils & fertilizer. There are so many things to check out. I've bought gardening gloves, tools, seeds and plants-including herbs and 6 blueberry plants that made it through the winter and have buds on them. It will be exciting to see them fruit. I definitely recommend and will be back to Young's. Service is good-the person in the large greenhouse really knew her plants. Price may be higher than other places but the plants are healthy and good quality. read more

Best nursery in town. Very helpful employees. They have a wonderful selection of indoor and outdoor plants, pots, soils, and tools.

I purchased my wife a wisteria plant for mothers day last year and it died. I called Youngs and spoke with a young lady and she informed me that they have a 2 year warranty, but would have to produce a receipt. I told her that I was not aware of their returns and I do not have a receipt but, I do have a receipt from my bank that showed a transaction and I could bring it in. We traveled to the nursery the next day with the dead wisteria and the bank receipt and spoke to a nice gentleman at the register and he said let me get a manager up here and see if he could help us out. The manager arrived and immediately told the cashier NO and started to walk away. My wife and I confronted the manager and he said NO. We were both shocked by the way he not only spoke to us, but the way he did it. He was not only unprofessional by the way he spoke to us but his demeanor was imploreable as well. He walked out and broke the dead wisteria in half and through it away. He said that they get alot of people who they and buck the system. We were not trying to buck the system, we just wanted to exchange it for a new one, plus we did show proof of purchase as well. Rest assured I will not make any more purchases here in the future. Ordered 3 Sempervivum Plants they all arrived healthy, and in good condition I even received my free one like stated on the website. They also included many chicks, the shipping was fast and it was a pleasant online plant shopping experience. Their website is very informative which is great. Ordered 6 sempervivums via online mail order a week ago. They arrived today. The all arrived individually bagged and labeled. Each variety had 3,4 or even 5 plants. All are about medium sized. Considering most garden centers will charge you a bit more than the price Young's charges for only 1 plant of the same size. Youngs is definately a bargain and has a huge selection! I will definately order more, but I need to plant these first! read more

RIPOFF ALERT. Bought bare root trees, but they decided to put one into a $2.00 plastic pot with some soil and the price went from $39.95 up to $89.95. When I complained, they deducted $20.00,told me how lucky I was, and in taking the tree out of the cheapo pot, she broke off the tap root. No "oops" or "sorry" just gave me a nasty look because I called them on their scam. read more

This nursery has everything you might expect in a well stocked nursery. I walked throughout it and found a good selection of blueberry plants in the spring when I needed them. Their prices were fair to pricey, but were comparable to the big box stores in town. They have a large covered area where plants hang overhead and are laid out strategically so that one could walk and admire God's creation on display. They have soil, fertilizer, gardening tools, seeds, etc. I would definitely recommend visiting this professionally run nursery. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Young's Garden Center. They are very responsive to emails and very friendly. Just received my second large order of Sempervivums over the passed weekend and I couldn't be more satisfied :D I was blown away when I received my first order from Young's in January as well. I got way more than expected and all the plants were very healthy and colorful. fast forward to now, and almost all the plants I received then are now producing offsets.(babies!) It's amazing to have mail order nursery with such a huge selection of Sempervivum for a great price. You will not find a better deal or selection on Semps anywhere else online. Young's garden is very knowledgeable when it comes to Sempervivums, this I know. If you're a collector of these amazing plants like me, or would just like to add some beauty to your garden, Young's will not disappoint. More than half of my collection (almost 200 varieties) came from young's. Good job by Cindy. Went in, described what I wanted (outdoor plants that cannot be killed by weather or very lazy homeowner), and she came up with some reasonable suggestions. Also suggested changing out top half of the potting soil which has been in those pots forever. Gave me the name of a couple of landscapers who could help install some new trees. Plants look good. Nice, well organized, clean store with a lot of inventory. read more

Disappointed in the quantity/size. They describe that you will get what comes in a 4" pot; however, what I received was less... Five out of the seven items I ordered equated to what would fit in an 11 oz pot or less... Not what I expected at all... The succulents do look healthy and they are not your standard variety... The order was delivered within four days of placing the order... The free item was nice... Prices were fair...I just wish they were more honest on the amount/size that customers would receive. read more

God forbid they get a second cash register. Costco sells them all day. I only go in there when garden season is starting and the line is so long! I almost drove to cottage grove to Territorial seed instead of buying them there just to avoid the line. read more

I am ecstatic over my last 2 orders for Sempervivum/Hens and Chicks! They're sent very healthy and mature sizes with several chicks on all of them! The free one they include is always one I wanted so they must be able to read my mind! My first order was for 7 and my second order was for 3. They generously included the 2 that didn't root (for some reason) from my first order so that's great customer service! Pictures don't do their Hens and Chicks justice - they're always nicer and prettier than what you expect. I ordered a few from ebay and the quality didn't come near what I got from Young's and half the price of what I paid on ebay too! Shipping cost is very reasonable and they ship super fast. I'd order more if I had a bigger yard. A 5 star company!!! read more

the plants i got were so small, the largest ones were only one inch wide. the plants were not so healthy, one plant died after a week, another small chick is dying, and when i contact them via email, they never answer my email. terrible experience. i then found another online store(SMG Succulent) and got much better service and plants. read more
