Thanks to Emily C., I got a great recommendation for cat sitting. Over the course of about a year, I scheduled Jessica to come visit my two cats, including a longer trip of a couple of weeks. When I first met Jessica, I appreciated her thoroughness going over material about my cats and asking questions. My cats were immediately drawn to her. The business is also run like a very well-oiled machine. You can pay invoices and get daily reports all in one interface, which is handy for keeping everything in one place. I just love this service. They really really care about your pets. I was so scared to leave small kittens and they went above and beyond. (Also I live in Wethersfield, can't change my location tag for some reason.) They tell you how the pets are playing and socializing and everything. Grateful doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this pet sitting service. My husband and I work from home so our cats are used to us being around most of the time. They get stressed out when we travel and it's not uncommon for some kind of weird ailment to pop up. We just came back from 2+ weeks in southeast Asia and had booked Jessica and her team to stop in to feed & scoop litter daily while we were away. One of our cats had an eye infection flareup and had to receive ointment daily. Y4LPS is great when it comes to administering medication and Jessica was so communicative with us and provided notes after every visit. The medication had to be switched midway through our travels since the cat wasn't getting better, so it was especially helpful to have daily updates. Had to leave a review even though I would say much the same as others here. Fantastic service from Jess and her backup partners. Jess was with our dog and cat during the February blizzard and was snowed in with them. When the driving ban kept our property manager from getting in to do snow removal she dug her way out to let our dog out and to get to see other clients. She kept our pets safe and happy in a worst case scenario. She follows the most ridiculously complicated instructions we can leave without a hiccup. I agree with Emily's assessment. Jessica does have a lot of forms for you to fill out - and that is a good thing. All of your pet's personal quirks are very well-documented. Medical history, food preferences, etc. So you can be sure nothing will be missed or forgotten. When you hire a pet sitter/dog walker to come into your home you want to be sure that they are professional, and that is exactly what Jessica is. Fully licensed and insured, and highly knowledgeable about animals. If you normally use a kennel for boarding I highly recommend switching over to Your 4 Legged Pet Service. It is less expensive, your pet will get more attention & exercise, and they don't go through the stress of being taken out of their normal environment. Our experience was great. read more

Although I've used this service for a number of years and always received excellent service, the last service was unacceptable since the pet sitter never came once! My poor kitty Charlie, was home for 5 days with no water and only dry food. It was lovely to walk in to a smelly letterbox as an extra bonus The owner promptly rectified the situation by firing the lying pet sitter and refunded my money. However, I'm not apt to hire them again because of this. Cats are just as important as dogs!!! I don't know why the sitter never showed up and then lied that she did, makes no sense at all. Jessica and her crew were very helpful to me during a one month period in which my work schedule made it difficult for me to keep up with my duties as a dog owner. They walked my dog twice a day, picked him up from day care and left me notes, or texted me when anything out of the ordinary happened. I highly recommend this service. Jessica is absolutely wonderful. Normally my friend watches my cats when I am out of town, but when we were planning on going somewhere together, I called Jessica. My fears of having a stranger watch my boys instantly subsided when I met her. My cats instantly took to her and I did as well. They actually wouldn't leave her alone during her first visit! She is a consummate professional, even with a crazy cat lady like myself. She quickly returned calls and answered any question without hesitation. We moved to West Hartford a year ago and have multiple pets (dogs and cats), and were lucky to have Jessica and Your 4 Legged Pet Service referred to us by my co-worker. Jessica has always been there for us from our vacations to short notice quick trips to visit family a few hours away where we just needed the pets to be let out. Our pets are always happy and well adjusted when we return, we've had other sitters who did not follow our directions and did not pay attention to our cats, and our cats were in hiding for days when we returned. This has never happened on the multiple times we have used Your 4 Legged Pet Service over the last year. As other have said, there are many forms, which we loved. This allowed Jessica and her staff to get to know our pets. We also appreciate that she has several people on staff, this makes us feel better when traveling far from home in case there is an emergency with the person watching our animals. Great Service! I've been using 4-Legged for 2 years now and my 8 yr old Jack Russell has been very pleased with the attention that Jessica gives her on every visit. I've used the service for daily walks, unplanned overtime, long weekends even during a 7 day vacation where I couldn't bring my little one with me. Jessica is always on time, very thorough and provides a quality service each and every time. She provides her own report card for each visit to let you know all that was accomplished during her time with your pet. Besides the quality of attention she provides my dog; I've also found her to be extremely trustworthy. Nothing has ever been out of place, the doors have never been left unlocked. Jessica has been helping me care for my cats and gigantic dog for about 2 years. She is so dependable and reliable!!!!!!! It would be impossible for me to have my dog if it were not for her. I recently went on a weeklong vacation and left my two cats, Tipper & Bella, in the care of Your 4 Legged Pet Service. Prior to my trip, I met with Jessica and Sophy to go over some paperwork, talk about my cat's likes & dislikes, and show them around my house. Anyone who has cats knows that they always seem to do the exact opposite of what you what them to do, and of course, this was no exception. The second it came time for Jess/Sophy to meet the cats, they were hiding under my bed. That didn't stop Sophy though, she bent down and tried to get them to warm up to her, which I appreciated. Jessica also gave me her card with cell phone number and made me feel comfortable calling/texting to check on my cats. We've been using Jessica's 4 Legged Pet Service since last summer whenever we go out of town -- overnight or as during our last trip for five days and four nights. That means Jessica stays at our house, watching our two Wheaten Terriers, 7 and 2. The whole experience is terrific and seamless and we worry a lot less than boarding them. Our almost 8mo old Boxer has enjoyed her daily walks with Jessica since we got her. It gives us the peace of mind knowing that our little one is taken care of and relieved of her crate time once a day. Jessica is reliable and there in a pinch if needed. She accomodates our schedule and is understanding of any changes that are made last minute. We have no hesitations allowing her into our home, which is something she takes seriously and provided us with her credentials and documentation of being bonded upon meeting with us the first time. She always emails us a fun, but informative daily report on our puppies day and if there were any concerns. She is easy to reach via text, phone, or email (ie. a 4am emergency text I sent her that she promptly responded to)!
