I contacted Ma & Pa after seeing their endless list of qualifications and certifications on their website, it was unlike any other local pet care provider.. We set up an in-home consultation where they presented all of their qualifications in person - including letters of recommendation from respectable members in our community, certifications of specialized training, and every other piece of data that you could possibly want to verify their trustworthiness. This was very impressive. They are passionate about what they do, extremely friendly, and they are (by far) the most thorough & organized small business owners that I've met. So now, when we're away, they txt us with detailed updates and photos of our pets having a great time - playing with new toys they brought over, enjoying Ma's home grown catnip.. Geoff even goes out of his way to check in & verify that we arrived home on time to feed our pets after we had returned. From the moment we arrived, the team acted with urgency--rushing him for X‑rays within a minute and then immediately sitting down with me to clearly and compassionately explain my options. Yes, surgery is expensive--but that is the reality of emergency medicine, and you cannot fault a hospital for the cost of life‑saving care. The veterinarians at Pieper are among the best in the state, and for me, saving my dog's life was worth every penny. When you bring an animal into your life, you make a commitment to care for them, regardless of the price tag. I would make the same decision again without hesitation. A knowledgeable and deeply compassionate vet carefully walked me through the procedure and risks. Bloodwork and surgery began immediately, and the surgeon followed up with me before scrubbing in and as soon as it was complete. Throughout his stay, the team called multiple times a day--exactly as promised--to keep me updated on his condition. At discharge, another veterinarian patiently reviewed the entire case with me to ensure I felt informed and confident going home. They even brushed his fur during his stay (thank you--he was shedding terribly, blowing his coat, and I hadn't gotten to it yet), a small but meaningful gesture that speaks volumes about their level of care. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, offering comfort and support as I sobbed in distress the night this all happened. I couldn't be more grateful that I brought my dog to Pieper. Please don't use this "pet sitting" service. I previously had this service many years ago for my dog that had since crossed the rainbow bridge. They were good then.... But not any more!
