I came here under dire circumstances of my washing machine malfunctioning. it was Sunday morning around 8:30. I had to learn by doing that the machines take laundry cards that need to be loaded. I asked the attendant (helpful and friendly)where to load the card and wash my hands. There is a sink in the back, probably for clothes but I rinsed my hands off so I could get something to eat. I did not use the bathroom, as I live not far away. The machines I used were fine, high tech even compared to what I use at home. The timer was very helpful to know when to take my clothes out. Drying is either free or .25 but you have to scan the card to show you used a washer. The tvs and music were present but not too domineering. Take headphones or a book if you plan to be there for 2 or more hours. There is a vending machine but also a Dunkin Donuts next door. Also a couple of other places to eat if you go in the afternoon and evening. The machines to buy detergent and softener are convenient. I don't know if the cost is good or not; I used 2 large washers but they have smaller ones for about $5 a wash (maybe). read more

Normal laundromat. People like to hold washers by filling them with clothes and not paying to start the cycle. A lady called her family there to beat me up because I removed the clothes after 30mins of waiting and asking whose clothes they were with no response. Thank god I legally conceal carry. Staff did agree with me but they work there and don't want to be victims. read more

I'm just getting off work and all I needed to do is dry my clothes and when I say the guy in there helped me get my clothes out of my vehicle and Aiden assisted where I hit didn't have to pay so much to dry it it was really an excellent experience. They came through like a superhero and I love shit like that. read more

I've been coming to this place irregularly for years. I've watched as the place deteriorated, but I continued to come to this business because it's close to where I live and it's a familiar place to wash when I let my laundry pile up. Today was the worst experience I've ever had here and that's all thanks to Ted the supposed "manager". I wash here at night when there are fewer people. I came today 1/3/2021 around 9 ish, washed my massive load of clothes and put them in the dryer. After taking out a few items and putting them in the cart, I started to fold a few items and put my cart to the side so as not to obstruct me. While folding, "Ted", if that's even his name, tried to take the cart and walk off. I grabbed the cart, took out my AirPod, and proceeded to inform Ted that I was utilizing the cart. Ted proceeded to berate me, and yell telling me that I could've took his arm off. Taken aback at his hostility, I repeated that I was using the cart and next time if he doesn't like how someone grabs the cart that they are rightfully using to next time ask the person the cart is clearly next to. Ted refused to let the cart go and proceeded to yell at me that he needs the cart for someone outside. I proceeded to tell him there is an available cart at the end of my folding table and it's one more suitable for outside while mine was clearly an inside only cart due to the high beams that won't go past the door. Still refusing to let the cart go, Ted continues to yell and berate me while also attempting to involve a random gentlemen asking him if im "his lady" as if this isn't 2021 and instead the 1920's and I need a man to speak for me. He proceeded to tell me to let go of my cart and that if I don't he will call the police on me. As a young Black woman just trying to wash my and my 2 year old daughter's clothes, I felt this was EXTREMELY threatening to my livelihood. This "business" has a "Black Owned Business" sticker that became popular to post after the riots. Clearly this black man knows that calling the police on innocent black people usually leads to someone being shot or detained illegally. This infuriated me. After this I asked to speak with the manager which Ted alerted me that he was. I do not believe him. I wrote his name down just in case. After I insisted that I was not letting my cart go because I had more clothes to take out the dryer, Ted walked off stating he was going to call the police. The police never showed and I finished my laundry. However, after tonight's extremely unprofessional behavior, I will leave this review EVERY WHERE, file a complaint with the real manager, or the owner, and file a complaint with the better business bureau. Additionally, as I hear some employees are paid under the table, I will be filing a complaint with the IRS to ensure this establishment is audited. The IRS LOVES payroll fraud and tax evasion. I will take my business elsewhere, as I should've done a long time ago, but I will NOT rest until Ted faces consequences for his extremely unprofessional behavior towards a customer who was respectful and well mannered. read more

There are much better laundromats in Chicago. Customer service is nonexistent. As someone previously mentioned, the water levels here are insanely low. I found myself staring wondering if my towels were even wet. It cost $3.50 (cash)/ $3.75 (credit) to use a 2 load capacity washer. I came here because I was way behind on laundry and thought that I could just quickly get it done in bulk. However, their two load machine holds even less than what I can do in the machine at home. Dryers are free, which does even it out and make it slightly cheaper than at home. This place is conveniently located and there is free parking. However, I'll still be on the search for a better laundromat. read more

I had to update my review. Since September 2013 when I left my review. Things have went downhill. I am assuming they have changed ownership, because the customer service is completely gone. I don't know who this guy is, but you need to get rid of him. He never helps out. He is always inside the breezeway smoking and don't leave a cart outside for him to pick up. The stares will cut you clean. I am not sure, but when I clock in to work...I work. I guess folks now a days think having a job is some sort of privilege. Until you're standing in line at the IDES office. Machines half of the time do not work along with dryers. Not sure if the wifi works, because everytime I ask I get the "I don't know." I love how you can use your credit card on the machines so u dont have to get quarters. But they have that option as well. I love how theres foods restaurants and stores all around in that area. They also have free dry and 25 cent bigger dryers which is a bonus. read more

The problem I have with black owned businesses they want people to support them you, but have shity ass service. People just have to get off of symbolism and just be a business. There's a worker here for the dry cleaning service, has a jamacain accent and he kept being rude and yelling at a female customer bc she paid the the wash, dry, and fold service and he only washed her clothes, put them in a bag and returned them to her wet. She demanded a manager and he told her "I'm not showing you sh*t." Needless to say, if this place has garbage employees then this place is garbage. Don't waste ur time here, respect is important. I've been coming to Spin Cycle ever since I got fed up with the laundry room in my building not cleaning my clothes completely. I never knew how much of a gem this laundromat would be. For starters, if you wash here, you dry free. Yes, FREE. I could stop right there. The dryers get your clothes dry 98% of the time (there is the occasional re-dry, but it's FREE). And the washers....plenty of them and they get clothes CLEAN. I think the most expensive machine here is $6.00 for five loads. Yes, FIVE. For best access to the machines, come on any day other than Saturday or evenings/late nites...they're open 24 hours. I'm liking it! read more

Let me start by saying this review is long but it's a MUST READ! I started coming here because it's the closest from my apartment building & our dryers don't work. The location is great but honestly this place sucks. The first couple of times I visited I noticed my clothes weren't completely clean or dry, red flag #1. Yes they have free dryers but they don't dry your clothes in one cycle compared to the 25cent dryers. Red flag #2 the last time i came to was i noticed there was little to no water. The young lady next to me hand two buckets full of water pouring them into the machine where the detergent goes. It can cost anywhere from$3 to almost $8 to wash clothes, regardless of the price there's absolutely no reason that in order to get clean clothes we need TRIPLE the amount of detergent & water because the washes suck. As a new resident to Chicago and having an apartment without my own washer and dryer for once, I was skeptical about choosing the right laundromat for me. I have been going to Spin Cycle since moving here and have not been satisfied nor completely dissatisfied. There seems to always be an issue with the washers not washing the clothes properly and I'm not sure why. Sometime I add almost a whole half a bottle of detergent and still see like no suds in my load. I do appreciate the fact that it is 24 hours and that the dryers are FREE! But I still want to find a new laundromat with better washers and free dryers. read more

Bought groupon twice. $20 for $40 wash and fold. Both experiences were very good. The first time I gave them a few laundry washing bags and told them to use the bags for my bras. They did use the bags but stuffed too many bras in one bag so ruined one bra. Other than that everything else was good. So the second time I just put bras in the washing bags myself and everything was perfect. They sort the colors, wash and fold the clothes for you. $1 per pound. Finish in a couple hours. So far I'm very happy with the results. Not sure about coin laundry though. The staff were friendly and nice. The place looks quite clean. Will come back again. read more

I'm in this laundromat and I spent 7.50 for one load in the big machine and selected hot wash. The water is ICE Cold! The attendant told me he doesn't know what's wrong and told me it was my fault because I started the machine and the water was cold and didn't let him know. Well after I finally found him he wants to tell me there's nothing he can do and I should have picked a machine with hot water. He felt the machine next to it and said this one is hot. When I go to the laundry on Fullerton I don't have this issue. I asked for a refund and he gave me an incident report to fill out. I asked if he could direct me to a machine that has hot water and he said I would have to try some others. So I've wasted 7.50 and got bad service and my laundry is not even CLEAN!! This is a Racket!!! They are stealing money. I pay 7.50 for hot water I expect hot water!!!! The attendant is soooooo IGNORANT. I've had the most heinous, disgusting experience at this laundromat. To use the machines, you have to put money on a card and they charge you an extra fee to put money on their card machines! I use to see the owner come around to collect the coins now he want return calls nor emails. The machines don't work, the place is filthy and the staff have disgusting attitudes. These staff members are unprofessional, disrespectful, morons who cannot maintain a laundromat. When you try to explain to them about the machine you using they look at you like you don't know what you talking about. I have never witness such incompetence and unprofessionalism in my life. They don't care about your complaints or concerns and refuse to take any action on these broke machines. This poor quality laundromat wouldn't remain running in a white/suburban neighborhood because it's such an awful place. Why continue bringing these low quality, lousy, expensive black businesses into black communities? They treat this establishment like a place they can just scam black people out of their money in return for poor service. Never in my life have I seen such a lousy, pathetic business! WORST LAUNDROMAT EVERRRRRR!!!!! I've lived in the Bronzeville area for 3years now, and I've TRIIIIED on several occasions to patronize this Black Owned establishment and every time I do, I refresh my memory of why I travel all the way to 82nd and Pulaski to wash (and pay for dry). They have free dry here but I would rather drive across town AND PAY FOR DRY ... it's just that bad! The wash load are short and water deprived, with the super large machines you have to pay extra for a pre-wash, (which.adds up close to $10) and the "free dry" dryers don't work have the time. I tried to explain to the attendant to put an out of order sign on two dryers I had to reload and he became loud and indignant! Sorry black people but I'm DONE! If I get desperate I'll use a bucket and a plunger before I step up in here again! read more

Today was my first time going to this laundromat. It's a nice size facility with plenty of washers to choose from. Small washers are $3.50, Medium are $4.75 and Large are $6.50... Dryers are free, they vary at 20-30 minutes per cycle. I had no trouble with any of my washers working. The staff I present and relatively nice, helpful. The change machine weren't working when I was there and according to regular patrons they're never working. There is an option to use a cc or loyalty card at the machine, which I thought was cool. Because the change machines don't I did get asked a couple of times for "spare quarters", which I found a little annoying. I would advise you to come prepared. Lastly for it to be such a big location and for the level of business they see they need to have more carts available. Overall it's a nice laundry compared to others I've used and I will be going back. read more

Spin cycle is close to me and they have dry free so I always go there. It's never really clean stuff is always all over the place and the attendants are a little weird but they have decent size machines and the dryers get really hot, most of them run for 20 mins but there are a few that go for 30 mins, u can restart them as many times as you wish. They closed down for like 6 months and all they did was add like one wall of new washers which I dont like and put some computers in there. i think they have free wifi or you can pay to use the computers like $1 for 30 mins or something like that. They are always playing really good music like a soundtrack for getting busy. they are open 24 hours which is great all and all its an ok spot they just need to cleanu p sometimes read more

The laundryroom is nice and clean. I go to this location to do my laundry 2x monthly. I like the location, it has an adequate amount of machines meaning you don't have to usually wait to wash and I'm happy with the end results from washing to drying my clothes. A huge plus is the laundromat is surrounded by a number of restaurants to eat, I feel comfortable walking to grab food while my clothes are washing. read more

This was my first experience using a laundromat & I was highly disappointed by the owner's constant need to excuse poor service from one of their machines. My clothes were not clean at all, there were still stains on several of my clothing, & instead of being apologetic or even slightly understanding, the owner decided to relay a message to me from the worker that "maybe there are too many clothes in my machine" (this isn't my first time doing laundry, so no, not the problem-- odd assumption for someone that wasn't present as well), "maybe because they used cold water" (??? If cold water didn't "clean" clothes, why would it be an option? Again, not the problem), "we're not responsible, there are signs posted everywhere" (there, in fact, are NO signs stating unsatisfactory service from machines, only loss & damaged items which my clothes were neither, my clothes simple were not clean). Fortunately, the guy that works here was nice enough to eventually start another cycle for me on another machine after I waited for the owner to show up for about 30 minutes, though they never came either way. This place has grown on me. There is parking/WiFi and food places nearby. Even a cleaners in the same strip. Pretty convenient if you stay in Hyde Park, Bronzeville, Kenwood area. They have some free dryers and some that you can pay for. If you need a sturdy laundry bag they even have those for a reasonable price. And it's 24/7 so you can figure out when the crowds are there and plan your trips around that read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had trying to wash some clothes. I came here last Sunday and loaded a big boy machine which malfunctioned and lock my clothes in it. After 45 minutes of the attendant trying to get it open and making calls to her manager who was out of town at the time. Finally she tells me they will wash, dry and fold my stuff as soon as they can the door open on the machine. This was at 12 noon, so I agreed to leave my stuff. About 6 that evening I hadn't heard from them so I decided to go check. I get there, the handle was removed but my clothes are still sitting there, not washed. I approach the attendant who is second shift and she claims to no nothing about it. However, sitting in front of her on top of my laundry bag is a note and my business card instructing who ever to wash, dry and fold my clothes. So now she a bit embarrassed agrees to take of it. Now it's Sunday and I was missing the football game. So I told her I would swing by in the morning and pick up my clothes. Monday morning comes and I go back to get my clean clothes...NOT. Now here's another lady who also claims no one told her about it. Clothes are locked in a back room not washed and now they can't find my laundry bag. I'm beyond pissed now and we get into shouting match. Finally I just say give me my clothes and the 10.50 I put in the machine and I'll go elsewhere. Then tells me I'm going have wait till the manager comes in to get my refund around 3:00. I wasn't having that and had call the police to get my money back. And still had to wash clothes! there were way 2 many kids when my girl & i went there. there were washers available in different sizes so we got that done quickly. there were several dryers out of order though. at first we only 2 that were available but when other people were done with using the dryer they let us know that we could use it. that was pretty nice of them. we come here cuz its the closest and biggest laundromat around her crib. read more

Clean facilities, machines work well, and the dryers are free and fast. They also have a friendly staff - especially Maurice. Best in Hyde Park. Avoid the one at Kimbark Plaza. They are nowhere near as friendly and the parking sucks. read more

I had an excellent experience at SpinCycle. The environment was bright and clean. I was able to get my laundry done efficiently and the staff was super helpful. One staff member, Shahid, greeted me in the parking lot to help me carry in my laundry. I will definitely go back! read more
