Dr. Nassir is in a class entirely his own. I have never met a doctor like him. My husband has faced more medical challenges than most people experience in a lifetime--cardiac arrest, heart transplant, dialysis, kidney transplant, strokes, prostate cancer, parasitic infection, diabetic wounds, spine, rib, and tibia fractures and surgery, amputations... and that's just the short list. We've grateful to have been blessed with excellent medical care over the years, but we have never encountered a physician like Dr. Nassir. We were referred to him after more than 20 medical visits in a single month. My immunosuppressed husband had developed an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma that went from a tiny pimple to a 5 cm x 4 cm x 2 cm thick blackened, mushroom‑like mass on his right temple, extending under the skin to a large lump at his parotid gland and into the lymph nodes in his neck. After consultations at three premier medical centers, we were left with little hope. We were preparing to go home and make the best of what we thought would be his final days. At a last visit with my husband's long‑time primary care doctor--someone we trust implicitly--he told us, "Not all the best doctors are at the premier medical centers," and said he knew the best oncologist in the area. The new‑patient paperwork had warned that wait times could be long. After that day, I knew I would never complain. Since that February appointment, my husband has undergone successful surgery and is now nearing the end of a seven‑week treatment plan--five days a week of radiation at Cedars‑Sinai and two days a week at Dr. Nassir's nearby Cancer Care Institute (chemotherapy, IV fluids, labs, and nurse practitioner consultations). Used to be a great doctor but the last 5 years something happened. Maybe he's burnt out, but your lucky you see him on your appointment dates. The wait is ridiculous and when they do call your name the visit is usually with the NP,not the doctor. Medications if called in are usually wrong and the lack of empathy in the staff shows. Too bad it's turned out like this. I used to rave about this doctor and his office. Now I regret going there. Seems they forgot they are working with cancer patients who need professionalism and kindness. A stage 4 cancer patient waiting to be seen for 2 to 3 hours is ridiculous. I had been under his care for my metastatic lung cancer from October 2024, which had spread to the left bronchi and was successfully treated with radiation therapy and chemotherapy . However, after a pelvic bone biopsy, the results showed metastatic lung cancer in four locations. Despite my daughter's advice against it, he decided to add Keytruda to my chemotherapy regimen during my third chemotherapy session, which caused severe damage and sepsis. I developed a high fever, shivered during hydration, and was hospitalized for 48 hours due to the nurses' careless response. After my daughter changed doctors, it became clear that his decision had led to significant cancer growth within a month - tumors grew from 1 cm to 10 cm and from 3 mm to 3.5 cm in all locations, with additional metastases on my vertebral bone and liver. When my daughter asked for an explanation, he failed to provide one. The nurse practitioners were unprofessional and dismissive of my complaints. Sona was particularly rude and uncaring, pushing for a faster infusion despite my allergic reaction to one chemotherapy medication that required slow administration. Similarly, Rosana prioritized quick infusion over patient well-being, disregarding our ability to handle. He was just showing that he care about my treatment only in our first appointment after that even he wasn't able to make connection and show his care about me as a patient . read more

I had a bone marrow biopsy performed by Dr. Nassir in August 2019, and it has caused me severe chronic, debilitating pain for over five years. The procedure was done in his office without anesthesia under only a very minor amount of morphine. It was the most traumatic experience of my lifetime and has left me with what specialists believe to be permanent nerve damage (and possibly musculoskeletal/SI joint damage). The decision to proceed with the biopsy based on some very minor anemia I had has completely ruined my quality of life. I was in the prime of my life in my early 30s when he did this to me, and I now spend every single day in pain.. I even had to quit my passions like yoga that make it flare up even worse. There are no words that I can possibly have to express my gratitude towards Dr. Nassir. He is the most compassionate and knowledgeable doctor that I have ever met. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and after only 4 treatments I am cancer free. I met Dr. Nassir while I was at Cedar Sinai and he turned that hospital upside down just to give me the care that I need. In just 2 days I had all the tests done to get me the most accurate diagnosis. He visited me every single day and night while I was at the hospital and called to check up on me countless times. When I say he's compassionate, he would tear up every time he saw me and gave my mother his word that he would cure me and he did so! Not only the best doctor in the world but also the best person that I have ever met! His staff at his office are exceptional. Sona, the office manager is an equally amazing and caring person as well. She really has the office under complete control to make sure that everyone is getting the correct care and attention. The nurses are also very professional and knowledgeable. I remember during my chemo treatments every 5 minutes at least one of the nurses or Sona would come to the room and make sure that I'm feeling well and if I need anything. Viviana and Liana work extremely well and fast to get all the authorizations that you need for insurances and testing. Dr. Nassir is an empathetic and dedicated doctor, who consistently puts his patients first, above all else. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field, and willing to think outside of the box, to get the best possible result for each patient. In March 2019, I was told I had 4 to 6 months to live and that if I started chemo immediately I would have one year. I was told that surgery was "off the table," and that I would be on chemo the rest of my life (which would be short.) In June 2019, after receiving chemo and other treatments, I went to see Dr. Nassir. He was very thorough about getting tests and scans and blood work done, so he had a very clear picture of my cancer and my prognosis. He spent time with me and gave me concise explanations for exactly what was occurring with my cancer. He pulled strings, while I was in his office, and was able to get me in to see an exemplary surgeon that very same day. I had a life-saving surgery, and I am still here, in August of 2022, thanks to his optimistic approach, knowledge, and immediate referral. Recently, the cancer has returned to my lungs. I was having a certain treatment regimen that was causing me tremendous side effects of pneumonitis, IBD, and heart tachycardia. Scary stuff. I went to see Dr. Nassir for a 2nd opinion. (He is located about 3 hours from where I live, but consultation with him is well worth the drive.) As always, he was very thorough and took a lot of time with me and went over every single record. Dr. Nassir is one of the most caring, hard-working doctors in the field. The front office, along with the back office, are there to help whenever you need assistance. My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer, and he was the one personally calling all the doctor's offices to get the information ASAP. He put a rush in all her orders to get her labs back immediately and gave us a free sample for the first month. We saw 3 doctors prior to coming to this office, and all of them just wanted to run tests, scans, gave her a huge array of various antibiotics, fungal medication, steroids, but the root of the problem was still she was losing excessive weight. Dr. Youram was heaven sent. He is my angel and my lifesaver. I wouldn't trust anyone, but him. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in 2016. My oncologist, who I will not mention, said I have 6 months to live. Then, I was recommended to go to Dr. Nassir Youram. I showed him my results from all my tests and scans, he had confirmed my diagnosis, but assured that I would have much longer than 6 months to live. He immediately contacted my doctor and requested all documents from 2008, from my first diagnosis, up to today. He made my cancer seem like it was as simple as living with diabetes. Dr. Nassir is the best oncologist. He is very knowledgeable, and always takes quick and accurate actions on analyzing patient's condition and providing treatments. My dad saw Dr. Nassir for esophageal cancer on 2/18/2022, when cancer covered 95% of his esophagus and even grew down to the stomach. Dr. Nassir applied chemotherapy on him and sent him for 45 radiation treatments as well. All treatments were completed on 8/12/2022. After about 3 months of recovery, my dad had all kinds of examinations, all the results showed he is 100% cancer free. The treatment process is not easy for patients and family. Dr. Nassir and his crew monitored my dad's condition closely, and also gave us support and advice as my dad had problems at home. My Fiance had some health issues and lost a lot of blood. The doctor she was working with was not giving good advice and was taking short cuts on every corner. Dr. Youram Nassir is a truly exceptional doctor and more importantly, he is an exceptionally kind, compassionate and honorable human being. We have unfortunately had to visit many doctors over the last 10 years as both of my daughters have autoimmune illnesses that significantly affect their lives, but I can honestly say that I have never met a doctor as dedicated to his patients and their healing as Dr. Nassir. After many less than stellar experiences with other doctors, Dr. Nassir has completely restored my faith in the medical profession. I first met him over 2 years ago when my daughter was a freshman at USC and she was dealing with severe iron deficiency and other more complicated medical issues relating to her autoimmune illness. I flew in from Miami to accompany my daughter to her first appointment with him and could not believe it when he sat down with us for well over an hour to listen to her story, symptoms, etc and go over her medical records with a fine tooth comb. He ordered extensive lab work and imaging and discovered an issue my daughter was having with her liver which no one had even thought to look for before. Dr. Nassir is an excellent listener and diagnostician who will leave no stone unturned to find answers and healing for his patients. If you need to see a specialist, he doesn't just refer you, he actually calls the doctor on their cell phone right in front of you to discuss your case and make sure that they will see you right away. That is unheard of nowadays but he is extremely well respected in the LA medical community and is widely known for his tireless advocacy and dedication to his patients. It is difficult to have a child with an illness away at college so far from home (as we live in Miami) but I feel extremely blessed to know that if anything should happen, she would be in the caring and capable hands of such a wonderful doctor. My daughter adores Dr. Nassir and deeply respects and trusts him . She can be 100% honest and open with him which is so rare for a college student but he's a Dad and he knows how to deal with kids with sensitivity and respect, not judgement, so they feel comfortable being honest with him. It has been an honor to get to know Dr. Nassir over the last 2 1/2 years and to witness first hand medicine practiced as it should be - with a deep sense of responsibility, humanity and humility. My dad has been diagnosed with MM, and Dr. Nassir has helped us by educating me as a care taker and by giving good treatments to my dad. I'm writing this review with tears in my eyes because I couldn't even get myself to get on here to do this. My wonderful gem of a mother Nonia was diagnosed with rectal cancer end of 2015 and it was so aggressive that it had spread to her liver. After all the tests and surgeries and all the pain and suffering my mom was cancer free thanks to Dr Nassir. Until Aug 2016 we found out that it had spread to the lungs. Dr Nassir was a true hero and helped my warrior mom fight it once again. She was cancer free yet again end of 2016 we celebrated and moved on. Feb 2017 she started getting headaches and nausea. She would often get dizzy and couldn't walk straight so we rushed to Dr Nassir where they found a mass in the back of her head. After the help of Dr Nassir she fought and was cancer free again the FOURTH time. May of 2017 my brother got in a motorcycle accident and was in a coma for 10 days within those ten days my moms condition worsen and she started getting dizzy again and nauseous. May 11, 2017 my brother died from his injuries and July 20, 2017 I lost my mom to cancer. My review here is about Dr Nassir and how he helped my strong mom fight the horrible disease but my mom couldn't handle the loss of her own child so therefore she sort of gave up. We found out that a week after my brother died her head tumor had come back and it was very aggressive. Dr Nassir still fought till the end to try to save her but she just couldn't make it through. Dr Nassir is a wonderful man he is very serious about his work and he knows the right doctors and resources to help you or your loved one battle it out. Dr Nassir gave my mom 2 years when other doctors didn't even know what was going on with her and right away said 2 months to live. If you have the right insurance and can go to Dr Nassir don't even think twice. ****UPDATE**** So, I have now been seeing Dr, Nassir every month, if not every two weeks since May. I've been having bad abdominal pain, weight loss, enlarged lymph nodes, but normal lab work. Just having a really cray-cray time, physically speaking. Dr. Nassir is helping to get to the bottom of this. It's Sept 4th now. We are keeping an eye on a couple of small cysts...IPMNs in my pancreas and a slightly enlarged periportal lymph node.....found thanks to Dr. Nassir getting necessary imagings and tests to find out what is wrong. Dr. Nassir is helping me to not worry, as he will be the one to worry and keep an eye on things in a timely manner. If things take a change for the worse, my hubby and I know that I'm in good hands. So I'm ok, living happy, and will have new imaging done in November to see if things have changed. This doctor will have continued blessings, because he is so wise and compassionate. His office runs like a well-oiled machine. With so many ailing people to care for, I don't know how they do it!! read more
