The Jailer's Inn also sits in the perfect spot for walking the town such as right next door to the Historic Old Talbott Tavern, 1/2 block to Court square with many nearby restaurants, shops & Bourbon Tasting Rooms. We met the couple who was renting "The Jail Cell" & they gave us a quick tour, although slightly small we really liked it & will probably stay there next time. Overall a terrific experience & we will absolutely stay here again next time we find ourselves in beautiful Bardstown Ky.

Once seated we were given some recommendations by our sever, Bethany, who did an excellent job of taking care of us. So we ended up ordering the Pulled Pork Platter & Shrimp & Grits. Our meals arrived in short order & everything was outstanding. Our only complaint was the acousticss were pretty awful which made carrying on a conversation a little difficult but I suppose there isn't much that can be done about that. The deck had 3 separate umbrella tables and chairs! The bedrooms were very spacious. Bathroom was a little tight, though I appreciated more space in the bedroom. Charming antique decor throughout. Hosts, Susan and David were very friendly. Hot breakfast was at 9 in the dining room with all the guests together. Coffee was available at ~7am There is street parking in front and a small parking area behind the house through the alley. The alley was very tight! The street the house is on is a pretty busy road so you do hear the street noise at bedtime but slowed down after 10pm. I didn't find the king bed very comfortable, springs seemed a little worn. Bedding and towels were lovely very soft and fresh. The whole house was spotlessly clean! The owners added hospitality by having a full coffee service, snacks, and some cereal for a light breakfast. The house is also right on the central circle in Bardstown, so walking to restaurants was very convenient. However, this house is right on the main thoroughfare in Bardstown, and less than 50 ft from the road. The constant traffic noise made it very difficult to sleep, as the bed is located right next to the window facing the street. On Saturday, the noise was constant until after 2:30 am and on Sunday the noise did not abate until after 12:30 am. Each morning the noise started again about 6 am. This was a constant barrage of loud mufflers, pickups and diesel trucks. There is also a traffic light out on the street so we heard these noisy vehicles accelerating from the light. If you have an issue with noise at night I recommend that you investigate other properties. This room, with taxes and fees, was over $200 per night and I don't feel we got that type of value

Best of wishes to you on the rest of your Journey! I have just a couple of tips for anyone traveling here. You need to physically type in the address into your GPS. If you don't, you'll end up like me driving in circles in some of the most beautiful farmlands and rolling hills I've ever seen! That part was great, but, you may panic, like I did! The location is very easy to pass right by it and end up doing this. However, it was because I spoke my GPS instead of actually typing in the address. Also, if you should have any physical limitations, be aware that there are stairs down to the patio and then of course if you're staying in a room on the upper level, there are stairs. This is an Historic home and there are no elevators. Also, be prepared for a lot of winding roads in the areas between Bardstown and Loretto. The roads themselves are beautiful, but there are so many people that live there that drive SO FAST around those curves, that I was truly frightened a couple of times. I suppose the locals know the roads and they're not concerned. I hope someone in the City Council, or the Mayor, becomes concerned, and SOON. Better to advice their residents to cool it on these roads before someone dies a tragic death here. I hate to write that but I don't want anyone harmed on the roads of Loretto, KY. I can't believe the local law enforcement doesn't seem concerned about this.

I do want to leave an honest review for anyone with celiac disease considering booking their afternoon tea. I booked the gluten-free option in advance, so they were aware of my dietary need. When the food was brought out it was flagged as gluten-free (with a cute American flag stick) but had been placed directly underneath and beside the gluten-containing food on the same tray, making it unsafe for someone with celiac. Cross contamination is a serious issue for people with this condition, not just a preference. They did try to make it right by bringing me a replacement plate, the replacement was not comparable to the full tea experience and the tea came out cold. If you do not have dietary restrictions, I think you would really enjoy this place. If you have celiac, I would recommend calling ahead and having a thorough conversation about food handling before you book.
