Edit: Wow, it took an angry Yelp review for Heather to respond back to me within 30 minutes. No I'm NOT going to change my review. I sent you an email, after I faxed you the contract, to see what were the next steps. I did not hear from you so I did not send you any pictures (and this was almost 3 weeks ago). So no, I'm not going to change my review. I will however edit the review so it's more detailed. Ive been looking for a casting agency for my daughter. After much research I found an ad on Facebook and responded to YTC's ad about a casting call (I had to email them to get the location info). I was told I didn't need to come in since I have a baby. This email conservation was over the course of a week because I only ever received an email response past 10 pm - yes, I can understand her being busy during the day. I usually get 1 sentence responses (as other Yelpers have stated). With that being said, I'm sure you're checking your email during the day and it wouldn't hurt for you to take 3 minutes out of your busy schedule to respond back. But apparently you have time during the day to respond to the negative Yelp reviews but not your potential clients. Once I did sign the contracts and signed up for the 3 casting websites as stated in the handbook, I never once heard back from Heather. I even asked her what the next steps were in the process ... but still no response. Okayyyy? It wouldn't hurt to say "Hey, send me some pictures as stated in the handbook." Now I get a bunch of spam mail from the casting websites (even though I opted out) and our mailing information stolen (from both Heather and the casting sites). Thank goodness I didn't give you our social security numbers as well! The way you keep in contact with your clients shows how terrible your company is. If you can't send me a simple email about asking for pictures, but have the time to send me 3 paragraphs in regards to my negative Yelp review is pretty pathetic. So thanks, but no thanks. read more

Heather (YTC) is amazing! Yelp is somehow screening out good reviews, so please go read the "not recommend" reviews as well and you will see plenty of informative, realistic, and excellent feedback on YTC. My son signed with YTC at about 6 months old. He went to his first audition within a few months, and booked it - a Target ad right out of the gates. Work was pretty slow for him for about 6-9 months so we took some bad advice and switched to a big, well-known agency in LA. The quality of our auditions actually declined. But we stuck it out with the bigger agency for a year without one booking and limited auditions. We'd had enough and went and interviewed with some of the very best agencies around some of which were interested in our son and some weren't. Such is life. When the time came to make a decision, we went back with YTC - and were thankful to be considered again! Best decision we made. Right away our son booked Pamper's. I've referred lots of friends to YTC. Some have been signed & some haven't. The ones that have are at auditions left & right. Also, remember that your child's age and stats have a lot to do with how much work is available. My (almost) 3-year-old isn't going to get a ton of calls because twins are used a lot for the little ones since labor and union laws are so strict. But we have fun with and are excited for the work we do get. And we know we can expect to see more come in as he gets older. Here's the deal you guys. An agency even interviewing your child is an honor. If they sign your child, you are among the few. If YTC turns you down it's because your child or situation is not a good fit for the agency. Try another and don't take it so personally. There's a lot of rejection in this business. Get used to it. Heather works HARD. She is a direct communicator and you know what to expect from her. She doesn't pull any punches and I personally respect her for it. She wants her clients to succeed. Why wouldn't she? Their success is her success. That's how it works. As parents of kids in "the business" we are responsible for our part. Are there last minute calls? You bet. But that's pretty standard these days. You need to take a vacation or schedule an important meeting? Book your kid out. Problem solved. Keep your child's work permit up to date. I mean, c'mon parents. We're the adults. We chose to support our kids in this industry, the least we can do is be an example of how to be organized, graceful, and resilient. They're gonna need those skills in life anyhow. Firstly, YTC came highly recommended from a friend's contact who's son is signed with them. Ironically also, Heather was apparently a classmate of my neighbor. She had nice things to say about her, so I initially had good first impressions. That all changed when A: I did not hear from her for weeks after submitting the requested new talent info. And B: Heather wrote a ONE-LINER saying "sorry we are full with that age and look." Okay age I understand. But Look?! Really? You mean you are full with kids that look exactly like mine, right? I'm not even bothered that my son didn't sign with them, as we took him elsewhere and so glad we did! I'm particularly bothered by her unprofessional demeanor in responding to clients, potential or not. There was not even a "but we'll have his info. on file, yada yada." I am not new to the industry and definitely not new to having one-on-one contact with prospective clients. I can tell you, that I am non-too impressed by Heather's rude, curt and disingenuous response. Moreover, I read another parent's review stating that she got the same exact response. If you're going to send out a generic email reponse, at least have a more professional one ready, to save yourself from reviews like these. You're better off taking your kid's talents and good looks elsewhere. read more

My son has been represented by Heather for less than a year and I have nothing but good things to say about her. All the negative reviews on here are coming from those who are obviously clueless about the industry. If you can't handle something as small as a rejection email or planning for spur of the moment auditions you shouldn't waste your time or anyone else's, trying to be part of the industry. My son has booked multiple jobs with H&M, Target, Disney, etc. because of Heathers hard work and commitment. She's quick to answer our questions and accommodating with changes in our schedule and availability. I've recommended Heather to multiple friends and will gladly continue to do so. Heather was very professional and extremely polite to me and my 11 year old daughter. We sent in a couple of photos and then Heather called us to come in for an interview. We spent 20 minutes speaking with Heather, she interviewed my daughter and had her do a cold reading for her, we looked at my daughters head shots and Heather pick one she liked right away. She recommended we get a few more photos done with different poses and styles. Heather was very warm and patient with us and all of our questions. She immediately said that she would like to represent my daughter and would be e-mailing us her information package right away. read more

Heather is a bit rude and aburpt. You won't hear from her for months and then get an email at 11pm telling you your child has an adution the next morning. I worked in Hollywood and I know some auditions are last minute but this was EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. God forbid you can't drop everything and go because if you don't she will be furious with you. Oh and absolutely NO feedback from her even if you ask her. Good luck with her, she needs to hire someone to help her in the office. read more

Hands down one of the best SAGAFTRA Agency in the business. Uber agent Heather McCurdy is a one woman's show and truly knows the ins and outs of the business. My daughter became a member of the "YTC" tribe since she was I think 8 years old and now she is 15. Our experience has been great all the way. My daughter came to the YTC Agency as a non Union Actor and she was quickly able to obtain SAGAFTRA Union membership with the guidance of Heather McCurdy. Though YTC is located outside of Hollywood my daughter never missed an opportunity at all.....Heather is always in the know of what jobs are available for her clients. As a mother it was truly beneficial for my daughter to trust and respect Heather as her Agent and allow her to do her job.... Remember Parents: it's always in an Agent best interest when her clients go out on as many auditions as they can with hopes of booking jobs.....so I never understood parents or kids who complain and blame an Agent if they are not auditioning or if Hollywood is slow as if the Agent is purposely holding the child Actor back..that does not even make business or money sense. If an Actor can't get auditions it's either slow or the Actor headshot is simply not working and not getting picked for parts to come in to audition for.....that's has nothing to do with the Agent. An Agent sends an Actor head shot for a potential job and maybe the actor get a call to audition or maybe not.....remember,,,,,just because an Actor headshot is sent for a potential job that does not mean it guarantee an audition.....that's why headshot so are very important unless you are already well known to many Directors / Producers..... Also, The best part of being apart of YTC is as my daughter became a teenager in high school her focus changed towards sports "soccer". Heather continues to be a part of our fam bam and follow in my daughter development though she has not auditioned in years.....Heather is loyal, professional and she has always looked out for the welfare of my daughter... it's not education or even knowledge it's Information that brings Power.....so I'm informing you that if your child can be apart of "Youth Talent Connection Agency" they are already apart of the know and winning in the game called Hollywood. Awful! Completely un-professional. She made me wait two days to tell my newborn "no." I have no problem that she didn't sign her but she made it sound in the interview that she was going to. Then she said she would contact us the next day. She never did. Then I called her and asked if she was going to sign her and she said "I'll email you." Then she emails me and says "no." ??? What? How un-professional and cowardly. She could have easily said no from the get go or over the phone. I wish many others luck but she's incredibly rude. read more

The owner Heather is not professional, does not respond to emails/phone calls, treats you like dirt and your child like a number. She is rude and short when she does respond or contacts you for whatever the reason. She also does not submit your child for every job they possibly are fit for. My child did not get submitted for a job for over 9 months and at about 7 months of nothing, I began submitting my child myself and got 3 auditions within a month. She has too many clients to do all of the work herself and claims that this is how the industry is. We have moved on to a bigger agency and my child and I are much happier with the new agency! I would not sign with Heather...there are much better options for your child out there. read more

The owner Heather McCurdy of this agency is not very professional. She asked talent to skip school for an interview with her which is unreasonable. We have met several youth divisions of talent agencies, they all considered the youth talent's school schedule but not this one. We would not meet this type of agency. Think about how she can represent you fairly specially for kids. read more

Heather has worked with my children and she is professional, easy going, and takes care of business. My 7 year old daughter has went on many auditions. My 4 month old landed a job first. I am going to submit my other two children too her because the experience with her agency was cool. She does take care of business so make sure you are commited and ready to go when it's audition time because if she accepts your child you will definately get sent on auditions.
