Unfortunately my experience with Summer left me disappointed and with more pain/aggravated muscles. Biggest Takeaways: -Limited techniques used (only elbow and finger digging) -Poor listening (did not focus on what I asked) - Not enough experience with client with chronic illness The full explanation: I was about 7mins late due to the parking lot being blocked but even in 50mins, I expected a lot more from the massage- and have received much more from other therapists. If you have a chronic condition or autoimmune condition I would not recommend this provider as she felt rushed and very short sided. I had to ask three times for her to focus on the specific area I came in for and after the second time I asked she said, "Okay, let me just get into this other hip flexor" still not understanding that I wanted to spend the time elsewhere. So over 30 mins was spent in two very small and specific areas I did not want to prioritize. Her style is mostly elbow pin and tiny pulls. Her hands did not touch any other part of my body beyond about 12inches between the tops of my hips to mid glute. There was no smoothing out the tissue or general surrounding tissue massage. Literally just elbow and finger digging. No lotion used even when skin dragging was happening (which hurt). There wasn't attention given to how pressing on my glutes could be straining my low back (a condition I communicated in my intake AND in person), and as a result I had to readjust and push back multiple times and now have a flared low back. Significantly disappointed in the experience. There are many other massage therapist options for the same rate that provide a much more well rounded and attentive approach. read more

I went to Youuness to get work done on my body due to pain. Ive been having pain mostly on the right side of my back/shoulder/traps area, right Tricep and many other places but these were the priority. I enjoy powerlifting, cycling and running which gives my body a lot of wear and tear. I am very much use to the sports massage/deep tissue style of being dug into and feeling pain throughout the session to the point of feeling lightheaded. Coming to Youuness was a different experience. I had got work done by Summer and had my first experience with Myofascial Release (MFR). I was skeptical at first as I knew nothing of MFR and was use to the rough and tough massage. Admittedly, MFR was making me question things at first. However, Summer was excellent in explaining what MFR was, how it works, why she recommends and uses it. The massage its self had some pain which was normal considering the shape my body was in but overall the massage was great! Summer helped not only with my immediate concerns but worked with me to figure out how I can improve my daily living to prevent something like this from happening again. Additionally, she showed me stretches I can do to help connect and correct my body. Afterwards, I was not sore like I usually am when getting work done to but, to my genuine surprise, I felt MUCH better. I am writing this review the next day because I wanted to see how my body felt after getting rest. Waking up, there was some soreness which I expected. However, I found that my body did feel so much better. Better than I had expect if I am being honest. I was able to do tricep stretches without feeling pain in my shoulder and my back/traps/neck area appears and feels much better. Currently I do not feel pain or tension. I can honestly say I am without a doubt happy with this service and have already made an appointment to come back. I have gone once-twice a week through out February to see Cameron for 60-90 minutes, and each time he has found a way to help me address and resolve the acute and chronic pains I've been dealing with. I was looking for a massage therapist recently as I was really in need of some work. Boy did I luck out! I was referred to Eunice by a friend and I was not disappointed! (Which, usually I am because I never get a true deep tissue massage. It's like ordering something tasty looking off the menu and you take a bite but there isn't any flavor...where is the spice people?!?!! Sheesh!) I like my massages slightly harder than most folks because my neck, traps and quads are always super stiff... I'm a student attending Cal Poly and I am an avid gym-goer. I woke up two days after a hard work out with increasing pain, a pinched nerve and very limited mobility, so I immediately went online and booked a 45 minute session with Eunice hoping she could ease some of the pain. I was not disappointed! I first met Eunice about two years ago when I needed a massage for some back pain. At that time, she was working out of a different building in SLO. Now she has a nice new studio on Pacific Street and has renamed herself (rather cleverly). The studio is very easy to find and they have 3-4 dedicated parking spaces of their own right in front. I had been experiencing what seems like a pinched nerve or sciatic pain, and had tried both physical therapy and a chiropractor. Eunice is a young, fit woman with a gentle and friendly personality and her bodywork is pretty incredible. If you read her bio, you will see that she has studied a number of bodywork modalities that she is able to pull from. She seemed especially intuitive and I often felt that she was like a blind person that was "seeing" with her fingers. The work truly is "work" in that it was more "mechanical" than massage and almost requires the recipient to participate. She is quite talented. In the final portion of my visits, she always switched to a gentle massage to wind everything down. Even though she gives a wonderful massage, I think that her real gift is with her intuition of mysterious body mechanics. read more

Best massage therapist in SLO!! SERIOUSLY! I get a lot of bodywork done and she's one of the best. I have tmjd and the ART session she did on my neck released a lot of that tension. I felt areas release in my jaw that I had never felt before in any bodywork session I've ever gotten done. Also my piriformis was beyond jacked and she effectively relaxed that area as well.
