IS THIS HOW THEY KEEP THEIR FOUR STAR REVIEWS? This has been an absolute nightmare. We hired You've Got Maids out of Orland Park, IL to do a "52 Point Deep Clean" of our home in preparation for guests over for Easter. We also planned on using them for bi-weekly cleans going forward. Upon scheduling our service with Denise, I was told to provide 3-4 hours for the maids to complete their work. The day they arrived, they were in our home for one hour and 20 minutes, which is verified by our security cameras. I saw that they had left from my online access point of my security cameras and contacted Denise questioning why the girls had already left. She said they finished early because she sent 4 employees instead of her original plan of 3. After returning home, I confirmed that not only had our home not received a deep cleaning, but it was barely surfaced cleaned. There was also damage done to our furniture including several scratches on our master bedroom nightstand and damaged done to our our toilet seat in our powder room. I immediately contacted the office and spoke with Denise again, letting her know our home was not deep cleaned and that damages were done to our home. She asked for pictures, which I provided over a dozen. She saw them agreed our home wasn't cleaned and damage was done and someone would be out to reclean our home the next day. She also said they had received previous complaints about on of the employees they sent to our home and that because of my complaint, this employee would be terminated. I got a call from her about an hour later saying she had no one to clean our home so she would refund us and would send an email confirmation of the transaction. She emailed me that she would refund $300 of the $400 I paid. I told her a partial refund was unacceptable and wouldn't even cover the damages done to our home, and that after further review of our security cameras, we have footage of her maids laughing about not having enough clean rags to clean our home. Our cameras captured one of her employees on a personal phone call on our porch screaming "ARE YOU DEAF! F*CK!" to whoever she was speaking to. Denise said that after seeing that footage, she would refund the full $400. I was satisfied with that. However, that night I received an email from her with a contract stating she would only refund my money if I signed a contract saying I wouldn't post any reviews of their company and if I did, they would take $1000.00 from me, which I believe is illegal according to the FTC Consumer Review Fairness Act. To be honest, I'd rather risk being out $400 and save fellow consumers from this nightmare. I whole-heartedly believe this is how they avoid negative reviews. I contacted their company headquarters and they stated that since the business is franchised, they couldn't help me. Edited to add: The manager commented below how "words can't express how truly sorry" she is. Words can express how "truly sorry" you are. The words are "I am refunding your money". You've chosen to keep my money unless I delete all reviews, which is an unethical and horrible business practice. So it doesn't get any better than this! 3 wonderful ladies arrived at 9:00 am and left at 10:30! They cleaned my house from top to bottom. I have a four bedroom home with 3 bathrooms. When they left everything was immaculate! The bathrooms were spotless and the tile floors on the first floor were glistening. I have a dog who is shedding and there was hair everywhere but by the time they were finished cleaning you would not have known a dog lived in my house. Horrible!! Waste of money & time. BEWARE!!! I feel completely taken advantage of, it makes me sick. First of all, I hired this "cleaning service" to do a move in cleaning. Our house is 4300 sq feet and is completely empty. I spoke with Denise, who quoted me only 4 hours of cleaning, which made me nervous from the beginning (I should have listened to my instinct-first mistake). When the day of the cleaning came, we did a walk through of what my expectations were & I left because I didn't want to be that person who follows them around (second mistake). Not even 3 hours into the cleaning Denise calls me and says they are about done, I was shocked.. I thought 4 hours was ridiculous, but 3? A complete joke. When I showed up, I was disgusted. How they were not embarrassed, I have no idea. Im pretty sure they thought they could pull a fast one on me and didn't think I'd check. If that's how they perceive their customers, then that's a HUGE problem. Anyways, I pointed out to Denise all of the cobwebs left on basically all of the ceilings, dust alllll over baseboards on the main floor, a pile of dirt on the window bench, HAIR IN MY FREEZER, bugs in between the sliding glass door tracks, dust bunnies under kitchen cabinets, and the dust still inside of ALL of the cabinets & drawers in the kitchen and office. Denise redid the cabinets inside the office herself and I STILL found dust because they obviously rush. The cobwebs inside the closet in the basement looked like a Halloween decoration, I'm not sure how they missed that one. Probably didn't even open the closet, again thinking I'm too stupid to check. So 2 hours later (yeah an extra two hours to get all of the stuff they missed) mind you Denise told me she won't charge me for the extra time for them screwing up, she ended up trying to charge me the full 5 hours and when I looked at her she said 7-11:30... uh no try again. So she charged me for the original 4 hours when they only spent 3. I did ask them towards the end of fixing their screw ups to do 2 storage rooms downstairs and 2 utility closets (just vacuuming the cobwebs) and I said if you need to charge me for that, that's fine I understand. But she charges me another whole hour??! So you charge me a whole hour to do 20 mins of work because you want to take advantage of me? Oh and her excuse about the stuff they missed was blaming it on one of the girls being new, way to throw your employees under the bus. Really professional. I would have rather sent them home without paying them and gotten my $570 (yeah I tipped them $20 - third mistake paying them at all) worth from a different company who actually knows how to clean & who doesn't take advantage of their customers! So all in all this company is horrible. They rush & they take major advantage of people. They should be embarrassed. I should have looked at the reviews before because I see there's a similar review, but I just didn't have time and I trusted them. FYI days after I left messages, the way Denise wants to handle her business is equally as unprofessional as her services. She blocked my number and instead decided to email me. I have used this service for a couple of years. Unfortunately, their service has really gone downhill. I recently had a 52 point clean completed. I was quoted $375.00 which was for 3 people at 3 hours. That is 9hours of cleaning. Instead I got 2-3 hours which is about $100/ hr. In addition, many items were missed. When I contacted the manager/owner I was advised she would send them back out. This was after I had said I cleaned as I had guests coming. Total rip-off and lack of accountability. I would recommend you stay away from this company as they lack ethical standards in my opinion. Kim, the owner, sent Nicky and Kelli to clean the entire home to include bedrooms, bath rooms, common living areas, and the kitchen. They cleaned, dusted, vacuumed---the works. Wow! Wow! Wow! We cannot be more pleased and share more positive comments about our wonderful treatment and the 5 star cleaning and work that Nicky and Kelli did on cleaning our home. Having had another service, we are so glad we contacted You've Got Maids! to come in and clean our home. We were generally happy with the previous service but noticed the prior service was rushed and the last service wasn't as good as what it had been previously. I called You've got maids because my mother in law was coming into town and I wanted to alleviate my wife's already heightened stress level. Well the girls who came out were meticulous in the work they performed. My mother in-law can be outspoken and critical and the last thing I wanted was a weekend of that. i called them to begin a new account,. Audrey spent 20 minutes with questions while ranking my information on Monday June 12th. The following day on Tuesday Audrey: called back to say they are book for the next 3 months for Fridays and hung up without offering any alternate days! I thought her behavior was very odd. I Called back to ask which days would they be available; she stated she did not know? she asked what other days might i be available? I stated it would be easier if you tell me your availability and i can arrange to meet them any day. She stated she will call back or have someone to contact me later today... I hired You've got Maids to do a move out deep clean of our townhouse before we turned the keys in to the owners. I set up the appointment with Nichole and she was just wonderful. She explained the service in detail and was very easy to talk to and had answers to all of my questions. Upon the day of he scheduled appointment, I received a call stating they were on their way, I met them at the town home to discuss what areas I was most concerned about. Jamie Was very kind and got right to work. Overall, they did a phenomenal job. Cabinets were spotless, bathrooms sparkling and floors looked like new. They did a nice job the first time, although I found things that they didn't do or were sloppy doing. The second time, they did a worse job. Sometimes it's helpful for me to have someone make it look decent if I don't have time, so that's why I used them, but I will try someone else next time. read more

Do not use You've Got Maids!!! I hired them to do a deep clean of a home we purchased and they did a terrible job. I paid extra to have my kitchen and bathroom cabinets cleaned but there was so much dirt left behind that I had to do it again myself. I even reached out and sent pictures (multiple times) to the person I coordinated the cleaning with and she never called me back. Horrible customer service and an even worse cleaning job. If you are looking for the place to look clean at a reaspnable price they were great. I chose "by the hour" as we are doing some construction in one corner of the house so time should not have been an issue and they did not use all of the hours. When I pointed out specifics they pulled out a rag and fixed that problem but were ready with clipboard to be signed and to get out the door. I always tip well (used to waitress) but did not give them the tip i had ready. I used my swiffer to hit all corners and under couches after they left and washed the kitchen table to remove food residue. I chose this service based on yelp reviews so wanted to make sure reviews showed a more balanced picture. read more

The ladies who cleaned were so nice and made my shower the cleanest it has ever been! They made every surface in my house shine and were able to get every single piece of dog hair out of my house! I just saw the reply post from the manager of this business. She is not telling the truth. I was the very unsatisfied customer three years ago and I never demanded any free maid services. What I called for and asked for was a proper finish to the job that was left incomplete. Cleaning half the house does not make it okay to charge full price. All I wanted was the rest of the house cleaned properly or half my money back for the unfinished portion. I never signed anything. I was at work and they called to let me know that they were done. I had let the maids in and shown them around the space and answered questions in the beginning. But I was not there when they left. I was so disappointed that the house was only half cleaned as I had hoped to keep them as an ongoing service. Do not use this maid service!
