Bustling little place with friendly service from the time you enter. I started with the Sunomono salad, which is my favorite, and this one is EXCELLENT. I was disappointed that there isn't an iced green tea offered, which I enjoy with my sushi. The menu... Very extensive but almost every roll is filled with cheap filler cream cheese and/or asparagus, 2 of my least favorite ingredients (it appears to be a Florida thing since of the 6 other states I have lived in didn't have more than one roll with cream cheese, which was the Philadelphia roll, and asparagus was in maybe the vegetarian roll, or another). With about 1300 miles of coastline, I can't understand why Florida has some of the worst sushi in the country. I narrowed down my choices to two of 3 rolls that sounded good and what arrived was not like the pictures on Yelp, they barely had any fish and were 75% rice. They tasted good and fresh, but lacking in quantity and value. Overall I was disappointed. If you like cream cheese in your sushi rolls, then you might enjoy the selection here. read more

A little on the expensive side and took quite some time for my order but they were nice enough to make some accommodations for me and make the entire entree with salmon (and no tuna) there was an upcharge for that which I wasn't stoked about but it was ultimately delicious. read more

I've been going to Yu-Mi since they opened 20 odd years ago. I find the negative reviews pretty funny. I've never had a bad or even a meh meal there, never had bad or rude service. (Maybe you get what you give?) Yes it's small, yes getting takeout can be tricky because their small size makes it easy for them to get overwhelmed. If they're too busy, and I'm very hungry, I move on to another place as there are several other choices for Japanese fare around here. But Yu-Mi will always be my favorite. read more

My almost 3 year old ate an entire bowl of rice, miso soup, and an order of fried gyoza and did not drop one grain of rice but yet they still felt the need to act appalled that he expected a chair and silverware and a drink. Love love love this place!! It's a little small but that's okay! It's a hidden gem. I loved the shrimp tempura roll and my daughter loved her udon noodles! My guest enjoyed her bento box! As per prior reviews, service was slow as there are only 2 who make and prep the sushi (long time owners) but it is worth the wait. Arrive early, be patient. Very non-descript restaurant. Even on Yelp limited information like ownership (unclaimed) and really no menu or even website referenced. I sat at the sushi bar for dinner last night 6-1-22 and openly I can't say that the staff was friendly. The waitress appeared to not be interested and the 2 sushi chef's did even look up at the 3 people at the sushi bar. However, the sushi was good. I also had the Sunomono which was excellent. They also did not have an a la carte sushi menu. That was weird. Their sushi selection was limited but just happened to have the items I like. Giving 4 stars because the food was good. read more

We were craving sushi and decided to retry a place we used to frequent years ago. Based on the recent reviews we thought it was worth a revisit. We had found a menu on line and it was quite an extensive array of options. We took the easy way out and ordered what the menu stated as " romantic" sushi dinner for two. Turns out the menu posted was not current. They still offered it, but the 'romantic" name had been dropped and it was $49.99 instead of $39.99. It was tons of food...2 miso soups, 2 salads , and rainbow roll, crunch roll, California roll, lots of sashimi and sushi plus a small bottle of saki! Too much food but delicious. Enough for 3 people for sure, maybe order one more soup .I would order again but I think a la carte. read more

Very rude service. Had a party of 3 and requested a table for 4 as one of us recently had surgery and needed to prop his foot up on a chair. Empty restaurant (see photos) when we arrived and left. I come to this place all the time, but I have been so disappointed lately. My family and I always get takeout, but lately, they simply do not answer the phone. I love their sushi, it is the best in town, but lately there is absolutely no way to order it unless you go to dine in. I prefer not to dine in given that the dining area is very small and not well lit. I do not understand how I am supposed to continue being a patron when I cannot order the food. I know it sounds excessive, but I just tried to order from them and ended up calling them 81 times! (Screenshot below) Most of the time you get a busy signal, and when it does ring, no one ever picks up. Like I said, I don't wanna go in there. This is my all time favorite sushi restaurant. The sushi(raw, cooked, fried, sashimi), appetizers, and desserts are always so good. The prices are decent, it's definitely worth it every time. The food is always consistent. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant that can have a long wait most nights. The inside set up is cozy and welcoming. Okay, first let's get one thing straight. This is the best sushi in Palm Beach County. Hands down, Yu-Mi serves the tastiest and freshest sushi around. On top of that their prices are only about 1/2 to 2/3 of other places. The rolls are fantastic. Whether you order rainbow, dragon, crunch, etc. rolls, they're all good. Unlike many other places, Yu-Mi's rolls are not big on rice and short on the good stuff. The rolls come loaded with crab, eel, tuna, etc. If you order sashimi, you don't just get small pieces. You get large very generous portions. You want seaweed salad? Yu-Mi has delicious seaweed salad. I know some people complain the place is small and they won't seat you unless everyone in your party is present. Well, I don't care. The quality is top notch. In addition, Yu-Mi is super clean. If you ever go back and have to use their bathroom, you will think you are in a hospital it's so sanitary. Yu-Mi is a local gem and I wish I still lived in Palm Beach Gardens so I could go more often. read more
