I have eaten here 6-7 times. Food is excellent, high quality, and portion size is very large. I generally get take out. Price point is good, most meals are around 16 bucks. This place was FANTASTIC! I'm hard to please when it comes to Chinese food, and this place made me a happy woman! We're visiting from California, and it was 115° during the day. Too hot to cook! I'm so glad we decided to give the place a try. We got the family meal for our family of 5. 60 bucks for 3 entrees and 2 sides. We had left overs! The portions were so generous! The food was hot, fresh and so flavorful. The wait staff was super attentive and kind. Our waters were never empty! The restaurant was clean and well kept. I appreciated that the food tasted fresh but the quality just didn't match what I was hoping for. I ordered the Mongolian beef and ended up leaving most of it because the meat was pretty fatty and not very tender, even though it was sliced thin. The portions are definitely large...so if you're mainly looking for quantity and value, this place delivers. But if you're expecting something more refined or higher quality, it may not be the best fit. Opening night! Place was supper busy. A little chaotic, but things worked out. We made our order and waited to see what would happen. Ordered the Egg drop soup, it was super hot and very good. Deep tasting broth. Not just the basic watered down version. Off to a good start. Next up was combo plate, orange chicken, fried rice and General Cho's chicken. The general chows was way good. Their variation may be the best I've had. Not a heavy crunchy, sugary type. This was thin sliced veggies, super spicy sauce with thin sliced chosen breast cooked just right. Fried rice was good, not great. Very typical. Orange chicken was probably pretty good. I say that because it was cold, also the spring rolls were cold. Again this was opening night and you could tell. My wife had the shrimp, fried rice Kung pow chicken. She really liked it! Was very fresh and flavors were great. Portions are pretty big. They load up the plate on every order. Service will get better I am sure. I couldn't believe this was their opening night with no advertising and they had 7 take out orders while we were eating. This place will do well. They have lots to choose from. They also do ramen bowls! Will have to try them. Place is small but decor and furnishings are super nicely done. Catered a bridal shower with yu kitchen. It was FABULOUS! Two party trays of orange chicken and one of chow mein fed my party guests of 10 and my family of 8 ate it for leftovers for two days. So Or Amy I bought too much! It was Delicious!!!! And they gave us free cream cheese wontans aooooo great!! I put two boxes of Costco lumpia with it all and it was amazing!! I don't normally write reviews but I felt I needed to share. As a local, we all know southern Utah isn't known for its good cuisine. This place however, is amazing! Such friendly staff and the food is wonderful. I ordered the set and sour chicken combo with the wonton soup. Everything was so fresh. I ordered to-go so the sauce was put on the side (no one likes soggy food), the portion sizes are huge too and fair priced. I'm not even a huge Chinese food eater. 10/10 all around. The variety of the menu, the quality of the food and the service at Yu was about as good as any of my family have ever experienced. I had the Mongolian beef combo and it was pretty good. Beef was a little chewy. Portions are huge. Food tasted fresh. Service was great and staff is friendly and caring. My suggestion on the lunch combo would be to leave the soup off and spring roll out and lower the price a bit for lunch. Then if you want to add the soup on you can add it. I felt $12.25 was a tad pricey for lunch, but they do give you a lot of food for the price. I also did not like their spring roll. Overall though a great place to eat and pretty good food. read more
