They charged us both $100 per person even though his was only an hour, so that's $25 extra they got out of us and he didn't notice when he paid because we had to leave. One of the best massages I've had. The women working there are very nice and offer a body scrub that is relaxing. Left relaxed and with smooth skin. I am not one to leave a bad review, but YU SPA is not the spa you want. to go to. I walked in and said i wanted a deep tissue massage. i didn't sign any consent papers, contracts...anything! The actual masseurs appeared to lack any basic training and only did 45 mins of a 1 hour massage. But they said it was an hour???? My husband and I went in here for a quick 30min massage. Initially we had to wait because we were walk-ins but they were nice about it and told us when would be a good time to come back. It seemed really calm & quiet. Others seemed to be enjoying their massages (heard guy groaning like it was the best massage of his life), I saw the bad reviews but figured what the heck it's just 30 minutes, can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. I should've know when they didn't make us fill out the "previous injury form". I voiced what kind of massage I wanted and how long I wanted it to be, but they kept saying yes and calling the massage name so I figured we were saying the same thing. I have migraines and flat feet. I just wanted my head, feet & shoulders massage , yet and still they did their own thing. I told her continuously head, neck, feet but she did my back for about 20 min the the other 10 was split between my feet, head, & shoulders& she added hot stones. I was like no after she dropped them on my back the 1st time and then she did it again. I had to get up and tell her No. Then when she said done and I asked her to do my head some more she started speaking in her language to her friend and then did my head for 30sec. The pressure applied to my back was awful and that made me tense as well. They were talking to each other loud through the whole massage (we were in a couples room, that's not very intimate mind you because your in separate rooms basically with a open door between the rooms) The experience was Not relaxing at all. I was more stressed leaving than coming because I realized it was a terrible place, my back was tense. My head was still hurting. Wife and I just left this place, you'll see her side of it in comments as well. I called at 1000 to schedule a 1200 appt. Everything was good, they said see you at 1200. Wife shows up and they say they will be right with her they were just finishing up. I arrive 5 minutes after and she lets me know they are finishing up and it'll be a few mins. After 20 mins past our appt two girls come out and start speaking with eachother then ask my wife to come to the room. We let them know that we have an appt for a couple massage at 1200, 20 minutes ago. They tell us they are extremely busy and the couple's room is already in use. They say they can take us one by one. Turning our 1 hour appt into 2 hours. Had this been the first time coming here I may have blown it off and tried another day. However this was not my first time here. In fact I have been here almost a year ago for a single massage. My time before I had a bad experience as well, very weak massage even asking for more pressure, then they tried to charge me more then the $29.99 offer by $20. I figured enough time has past maybe things had gotten better. I was wrong, do not go here goto Hinesville Day Spa, at least they have 4.5 stars. read more

The short version of my visit: There are openings between the wall and ceiling in each room and the lobby. So there's no true visual or auditory privacy. Nobody in this building is fluent in English. They won't ask you about your health history to make sure massage is safe for you. (violation of professional standards). They won't ask about areas you need worked or sensitive areas you do/do not give permission (verbal consent) to be worked on. In my experience the therapist pulled my underwear down exposing me. I froze because no one's every violated me while I was vulnerable like that before. I've had over 100 massages and never once has a therapist made me a victim of sexual battery (as the police labeled it). It is a sexual crime. When I told the owner what happened, she refused to provide the therapists name or license number. She also would not give her name or license number either and her establishment permit is not posted either (city code violation). She stated she "doesn't believe her employee did that". She does not physically work at this location and doesn't witness her clients or employees; so how could she believe it or not. She's not there. As a business owner your commitment should be to provide a safe, therapeutic environment. IF you ever go here, which I pray you turn around and save yourself all the emotional and legal trouble, demand the therapists name and their license number before the session begins and make your boundaries VERY clear. In case you do have to report them to the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy (http://sos.ga.gov/index.php/licensing/plb/33). I requested a full refund, which the owner did finally do. She never took ownership, acknowledged that it happened, or even apologized. I now carry a personal safety alarm, have trouble sleeping, and can't stand being touched from the side or behind me. My attorney said it would take about 2 years to get any kind of legal closure, and probably cost more than it's worth to do a civil suit. So, ask friends/family first for other recommendations for SAFE and THERAPEUTIC therapists. If it doesn't feel right, walk out. I would hope that if anything like this happened to the owner's son, Eric, she would pray that business owner would be empathetic to the victim rather than shelter a crime by preventing them from reporting it and saving someone else the emotional turmoil of being a victim of a sexual crime. At the end I went to give a pretty descent tip and she asked for more, so I added a few more dollars to it. She then took my card and automatically added herself even more of tip. Wow things are bad here.....the husband and I had made an appointment for a couples combo massage at noon. I walked in at 11:57am, And a lady poked her head out of a room and said she would be with me in a moment. Cool. The husband arrived at 12 03, and the lady still had not came back. We waited until 12 15, and another person came out and asked how they could help us, we said we had an appointment, she said just a moment and went to the back. 5 minutes later came back and asked what the appointment was for we told her and she went to a 3rd woman who asked what time our appointment was for, we told her noon. She said well as you can see we are busy so we have to do your massages one at a time, who is going first....My husband said that was why we made an appointment, we scheduled all of our work around this. So we said we would just leave because they were too busy for us. So we did. I wish I could tell you how the massage was, and we both really needed it, but we will find somewhere else. read more

I've been here three times and never had an issue until tonight. My husband and I went for a couples deep tissue. Granted deep tissue will be more pressure than other massages, but the man went way too rough. I asked him several times to go softer. In addition, he barely used oil so it felt like my skin was ripping. They use a bath towel instead of a sheet, and he massaged over the towel for more than half of the massage which was painful due to the towel rubbing against my skin. At one point he grabbed my legs and threw them on the table. It was a terrible massage and I feel worse leaving. I would have complained but they didn't speak much english. So I have very mixed feelings about the place. First off I don't write a review unless it was amazing or I'm pissed. Second I get a massage about twice a year but regardless there are some things you come to expect. 1.They don't make you fill out any kind of medical form- you just walk in. 2.They use a shower sized towel to cover you instead of a sheet. 3. No candles or zen music. 4. They don't ask what kind of massage your getting. I made an appointment for a one hour massage but forgot specify what kind I was getting. When I got to the spa I didn't even need an appointment because all of the staff was just sitting in the front. The hostess rushed me into a room and told me to get undressed without even asking what kind of massage I wanted. When the masuse came in he could hardly under stand me and I him. So when he said hard or soft I thought he was asking how much pressure I was wanting not what kind of massage am I getting. (I came in for a Swedish massage and got a deep tissue instead). When it was done the guy say "7 minutes you done want me to do feet?" I wanted my neck instead understanding that I had 7 minutes left of my hour and as a result my hour massage turned into an hour and a half. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everyone talking in the lobby even with the music playing in my room when the CD wasn't skipping. When I came out to pay they charged me for a 90minute deep tissue massage when I had wanted a 60 minute Swedish. As well as when I asked for the military discount they wouldn't give it to be because they had already given me a "woman's" discount which had not been advertised. (They are trying to get more women into the spa.) The massage it self was relaxing but make sure you get everything clarified first including price. And the mans medium massage is more like a hard massage. read more

Best massages I've ever had! As of last year, I've become an avid weight lifter. And by avid, I mean that I have been moving a lot of heavy iron! I lift three to four days a week, about two hours per session. That kind of workout can leave your muscles really sore and tight. The massage technicians at Yu Spa are extremely knowledgeable about the human anatomy (skeletal-muscular). Deep tissue is their specialty. Following a brief exploratory rubdown, they discover all knots between and inside the muscle. Then they press out the kinks and work to stretch the connective tissue. I've never had a more thorough massage than at Yu Spa! Each massage session prepares me for the next lifting session. Since beginning with Yu Spa, I'm able to consistently meet all of my training objectives. I've been making unbelievable lifting gains, increasing my strength by twenty percent in one year! I had a bad experience at You Spa in Hinesville, Ga yesterday. My daughter and I went to get an hour massage which cost $75 for each person. The massage was good but when I went to pay they insisted that I pay 20% tip which was a $30 tip. I don't mind tipping as a matter of fact I always tip service workers but that was too much. If a 20% tip was manadory they should have told me that when they told me the price. They would not ring me up but insisting that I pay 20%. I refused. She even suggested that I should be paying 25% like she was doing me a favor by only charging me 20%. This went on for about of 5 mins. I was very angry but I didnt allow them to take me out of my kind character. I finally told them nicely that I didnt come with that much money and said the best I could do was 15%. I am a disabled veteran and I have to get massages regularly but I will never go back to that place. They made me feel horrible and ruined the relaxed mind set that the massage put me. I didnt get the memo that massage carry with a 20% tip minimum. read more
