I attempted to reschedule a massage with them (I was checking out from a previous appt that went way over purchasing my wedding dress), and was told that they were taking the full amount for the appt from the gift card I was given for their establishment as it wasn't 24 hour notice. This is after a couple of month prior that they cancelled a wax appt on me an hour beforehand. Don't waste your money at this place, their own rules don't apply to them. They will preach about their policy, but can cancel on you, not sure how that makes sense. Buyer beware! read more

Didn't receive hair service wanted so I asked for partial refund and was denied, they offered to fix my hair but who wants that after it's messed up the first time, I left with darker than when I went in, did NOT receive 135$ balayage service as requested and they wouldn't not work with me about coming back in since I was having surgery and couldn't make it back in with in the 7 day "requirement" they have. Ya'll. I had the best color and cut here of my life. Blonde hair can be difficult to get right, but I absolutely love my new look. My hair was messed up by me trying to ball on a budget and do it myself, to the point where it was dull and an awkward dirty blonde color. My stylist, James, listened to my requests, and he did an excellent job. I was immediately greeted by staff when I walked into the salon. It's an Aveda salon, so you know it's going to be good. The customer service was excellent from start to finish, as I received a glass of water, had a warm towel around my neck, and James even massaged my neck when washing my hair. James was the friendliest hair stylist I've ever had, and I was so sad to hear he will be moving soon. The prices are pretty standard for highlights and cut at a nice salon. The ambiance was great, and I felt truly relaxed during the whole experience. Although James is moving, I am willing to give someone else at the salon a chance instead of making the mistake of doing it myself again. I will be back! read more

Friendly staff, excellent service and great products! I've had a massage, pedicure and haircut here (all separate days), and I've tried makeup, composition oils and today hair products. It's always relaxing and smells great, unlike a lot of other salons. This morning, I had a haircut with Bailey (she's also who did the pedicure). She took her time to discuss what I wanted and give her suggestions. The shampoo time was amazing- hot towel + scalp and neck massage. Then she did a wellness treatment at the chair: neck massage and aromatherapy with their stress relief composition oil. Also, the receptionist brought me coffee, which was hot and fresh. The cut was quick and looks so much better. She styled it like I would at home, which I appreciate because I can really see how it will look for me and how the products will work with my hair. She also took her time with me to look at the products she recommended and consider what I was interested in. They also use Aveda's Pure Privilege program to help you save $ if you want to use a lot of their products. Overall great experience and I highly recommend for multiple spa treatments, services and products. read more

Finally I found my hair stylist (Sage) she does wonders with my hair. Love this place, I recommend it.... 1/24/19...Well hold on a second...let me edit my review from Jan. 2019. I've been going to this place for about 6 months and don't take me wrong, as I stated above, I finally found a place for my hair, but wait a minute, just because is Aveda salón doesn't mean is good. Yes the products are amazing but sometimes that doesn't mean all the hairstylists are good or experienced in color. Yes my hair stylist, Sage is amazing, she knows my needs and know my hair left and right, and to tell you the truth she has spoiled me doing my hair. So having said that... My August appointment was a disaster, (dye) no because of Sage, precisely because she was sick (8/10/19) she wasn't there and when I got to my appointment that morning, the hostess tells me that she (Sage) will be with me in a moment and I said OK, a few minutes later all of a sudden the same hostess tells me that Sage wasn't feeling good and that she had to leave, so she told me a have being assigned to another hairstylist (Ashley) I said Ok, trusting the new hairstylist, but my gut told me, this is not going to work, said and done; I have should canceled and re-schedule, she did such a mess of my color, it was terrible, she said she did the same formula as Sage does...but guess what my color was ruined to the fact that they gave me a FREE blow dry because she knew she messed it up. Well "Moral of a fable".. if your hairstylist from many months is not there the day of the appointment, don't let anybody touch your hair. read more

Wanted me to go home with wet hair. My old stylist used to tell me I don't want you going home with wet hair because she had to make sure the color was right. I cannot say enough good things about the salon. I had been going to another salon in the area and although I liked my color, the actual stylist/owner was rude and I could not handle sitting in her chair for 2 hours. I've been here three times and called and made last-minute appointments each time. I've had three different stylist each time two were for cuts and one for color. My daughter purchased 2 salon visits for her and myself. What follows is what transpired. Needless to say, I have nothing good to say about a place that rips you off. They were being cancelled the day of treatment due to travel problems (stuck in Dallas b/c of flight delays) Otherwise, I would have called prior to 24hrs. They would only give me my money back for one purchase because I obviously couldn't make it but would not redeem the other spa viist for a coupon or voucher for my mom to use at a later time. My boyfriend bought me a massage here for my Birthday. When I arrived I waited 5 minutes before I was even greeted. When I went in the room was cold. Understandable due to the temperature drop so I asked for the heat to be turned up and I was told it was against the manager's policy to keep the temperature up and there were several complaints in the past. I could not enjoy my massage because I was shivering the whole time. I expect a place that portrays itself as high end to at least keep the massage rooms at a decent temperature. ***update*** I have been to Lavender Hill 3 times now. Each time, Christie has cut my hair. Every appointment has been wonderful. Christie is observant and intuitive to my needs. She gives honest advice and feedback. Her skill is impeccable. She knows I drive an hour and a half to the salon and was even willing to recommend stylists in my area to save me the time. Top notch. my husband and I were traveling north and stopped at waystation coffee on our way. I saw a woman there with the cutest cut! I asked who cut her hair, and she told me Christie at lavender hill. though I waited 8 months (we live in fernandina beach, fl), I finally made an appointment. so glad I did. Christie was very professional but laid back and personable. the experience continued with a great relaxing sort of massage shampoo. the cut is awesome and precise. I nearly cried when I saw it! for some reason, the particular cut I like seems difficult for most people to execute well. even though we live 1.5 hours away, I'll keep coming to Christie for awesome haircuts. the salon is beautiful too. looks very high end, but the prices are totally reasonable. Jessica has done my hair twice now, and both times she has exceeded my expectations. She takes her time and works hard to give you what you're looking, but she's honest if she believes you need to go a different direction depending on your type and color of hair. She's friendly and funny but doesn't force you to talk if you don't wish to. The salon is beautiful and clean, and everyone so far has been very nice. The prices are fair for the quality of service. Once again I have come out of Yelp hiding to review a great location. I am in Savannah for the summer visiting my parents and needed to get my haircut. Amber cut my hair and I had a wonderful experience. Pros: 1. excellent consultation. She really talked, asked me questions, and tried to understand how I live my life to give me the best haircut for my lifestyle. 2. She let me have my glasses on during some of the haircut so I could check it and make sure we were on the same page. 3. She taught me how to deal with my hair in this Savannah humidity. She spent quite a bit of time teaching me how to use the pomade and how to style my hair so that it will look cute even from home. 4. Coffee, tea, water and that GREAT Aveda smell! 5. Amber has moved to this salon recently and so she has lots of experience with new clients. She is young, hip, and realistic about how much skill real people have when it comes to styling their hair. 6. She taught me how to style it later on so I don't have to have my haircut as frequently. 7. Reasonable prices -- especially for an Aveda salon. They are usually higher than other places but they were about $15 less than other places I checked. Plus I got a $20 off coupon from their website for being a new client. Cons: 1. The shop is hard to find and kind of far out for people living in the city. There should be an address on the large sign near the street. I will definitely return to this salon. read more

I went in for a hair consultation and hair cut. I wanted to die my hair a lighter blond color. After cutting my hair, my stylist gave me a ballpark range for the color i wanted. When i came back for the hair dying appointment, the price had magically jumped $60 dollars and they stuttered trying to explain what had happened. While there, I saw a bunch of things that just didn't seem like a healthy atmosphere, I think an inspector should do a walk in without any notice to see some of the things I saw while getting my hair done, the thing that most concerned me was when I visited the bathroom the towels that they put around your neck were sitting right by the toilet!!! Nasty germs coming out of that bowl onto the towels they use on their customers. My hair was nice, but just thinking about all the bacteria and germs that were on my towel, just made me feel real sick! read more

Nathan did my color this morning and he was very sweet and kind. He fixed a color error by another stylist. He knows his stuff and after talking with him today he has worked/trained in really great salons. This kept me at ease as he did my hair. Booked the "Lets Get Acquainted" package plus an eyebrow wax and shellac manicure. We got there at 10:15 and left at 2:30 so relaxed and happy! Facial, massage, pedicure, everything was great and everyone we dealt with was so welcoming and great at what they did. The facial with Alyssa was probably my favorite part! My skin was breaking out worse than it has in literally years (of course) but the products she used calmed my skin down so much and helped the breakouts heal a lot faster. They hardly have a nail polish selection and the polishes were old. My manicure took and hr and a half and it was bumpy and had bubbles and chipped within a few days. Decided to treat myself to a spa mani. Most spa manis are done by expert nail technicians in a relaxing environment but it was not the case here. First off the technician was painfully slow and her hands were shaky. And she had long nails so the whole process was just not relaxing or enjoyable. She was not very friendly either. I see now that she was one of the hair stylists filling in as a nail technician as mentioned by another reviewer. She painted onto the skin and then removed the polish off the skin with a brush after. Just poor technique. And two days later the polish began chipping quite a lot. For double the price of a regular manicure it was a total waste of time and money. Would not go here for nails again. read more

I was called in for an interview, for a posting for an Esthetician. When I handed my resume to the manager she was uncomfortably rude and asked me why I wasn't a cosmetologist. I continued with the interview, after providing many professional accomplishments the manager became more snide, including eye rolling. I was so taken aback I was completely stunned. It's no wonder they have a job availability. If this is the way they treat potential employees, I can't imagine how they would treat their customers. Also, from a professional standpoint their spa facilities were dirty, with a musty smell, and low grade equipment and wax (the kind that you can find at Sally's bargain bin) I would caution anyone who gets a spa treatment there! read more

This place is awesome. whenever i ask my friends and relatives for gifts for my b-day, x-mas, or mothe's day; i ask for laender hill gift cards. I get massages and pedicures when i visit. I treat myself at least every quarter. i could get a pedicure at the mall for a fraction of the cost, but then i would miss out on Ms. Quad. LOL. I love the atmosphere. I've had 2 massages here (both 1 hour) and I was a little cold at first then I got under the blankets that were there and offered and I was just fine. If it's THAT bad, tell them 2 mins. Into the massage... They're really well trained and focus on the areas that you're experiencing pain in. I didn't feel uncomfortable or nervous and all of the staff were very sweet. I will certainly come back for a massage again as the prices are very reasonable for the service that you get from them. I left out feeling like a million bucks both times I left here. read more
