The tennis courts are beautiful and there are several to play on. I was an avid tennis player on my youth and miss it. I didn't even know they had a gym until tonight when I was touring the club. They also have a room for cycling and a huge room for various workout classes. Everyone here looks very fit and healthy! The lap pool looked so enticing! I wish I brought my bikini! Overall it's a 5 star club and if I lived closer, I would definitely join!! A+

The pool was a delicious 60 degrees and there were barely any people there. For a time we were the only two ladies at the pool. So calm and stress free! The lounge has complimentary drinks and fruits, and is super quiet and cozy. The front desk service was superb. They gave us a tour and even shared some great stories. The lockers are clean and they offer complimentary robes (I'm a sucker for a robe!), towels and all kinds of after shower hair and body products. They have a gym, cardio space, yoga, May Pilates and weight room. They even offer sound baths, which you don't have to be a member to enjoy btw. It felt like an old school club where people are happy to see you and interact. So lovely. One thing..... please don't hate me.... But.... I'm going to wait until they convert the tennis courts to pickle-ball courts before I join. ;)

However, for special occasions, or intermittent plays, it is a unique experience. I believe different times of the day have different pricing, for instance, between 10 to 2 PM is happy hour pricing of sorts. I hear they are opening up in Culver City as well, and they will have some sort of licensing for kombucha or soft alcohol.

First thing you notice is the size. This location is much bigger than others and actually feels like a full, large-scale gym. There's a lot more space to move around, and overall it just feels less tight even when it's busy. I mainly use it for general workouts, but I've also done yoga classes here and used the amenities, pool, and jacuzzi. The pool and jacuzzi are a huge plus and really make this location stand out, especially for recovery days or when you want more than just lifting. Staff and overall energy are strong. Front desk usually greets you, trainers are more approachable, and the place feels more social. Cleanliness is solid too, staff keeps everything in check. The downside is the crowd. The vibe can be a bit much at times. A lot of people seem more focused on socializing, filming content, or being seen rather than just working out. It's not always like that, but it's noticeable. Weekends, especially afternoons, get hectic. But parking is actually not bad. The structure is big and I've never had to wait long to find a spot. Overall, it's a strong location. The size, pool, and jacuzzi make it worth coming to, and the energy is higher. Just depends what kind of gym environment you prefer.

However, that does not mean others choose the same. - I was called a "c**t" by a member in the early am. No management was present. I told the front desk. People do as they do. Moving on. - I was using a bag in the main room. I sensed someone coming so I left the room. A woman walked in - on her cell phone. I paused, observed. I walked back in and said "Hi, I am using this bag". She said, "So what I don't care". I responded, "That is not nice". She shrugged her shoulders, was dismissive and went to hug the boxing teacher. I chose to walk away. The cell phone usage is out of control. Nobody enforces rules. A manager called me and said someone claimed I put hands on them and flipped them off. I asked him if it was that woman. He changed his dates and times 4 times on our call. I do not put hands, on anybody. I practice peace. My hands go on a bag. When I train, my hands go into mudra. Perception. Is. Everything. I paused my membership for 2 weeks because I did not feel safe. I have awareness, and I have awareness that every single person has a different perspective. My only choice is to control myself, and. My response to things. I went back to maintain discipline. Mind my business. It is equinox. Supposed luxury, privacy. Not the case. 3 days ago, a woman wearing an underwear set - came in the main room as I was working out. I train alone. Had 3 bags. A man followed, and asked me if there was a class, I responded, "I don't know, I like to workout alone now that you both are here, I have to pivot. Would you mind going on the other side of the room?" He said, "Sure. No problem". I approached the woman in the underwear, and asked her if there was a class. She ignored me. The gentleman and I looked at each other confused. People do as they do. Moving on. I went to put the bag back as the woman in the underwear was doing lunges. The bag is heavy and needs to be rolled. We collided - the bag tapped her shoulder - so I stopped to ask her if she was ok. She would not acknowledge me. I asked again, "I want to make sure you are ok, it is important to me". She ignored me. I left. I get a call yesterday, that she made some sort of complaint. My membership was revoked. If management does not manage, It is what it is. My fault for thinking people would have decorum? Or equinox for allowing people to take photos, film, and make it my problem to tell them to enforce their own policies. I had multiple conversations with managers who are no longer there. A corporate gym that I paid a high premium for privacy, allows phones in the steam room, allows members to wear underwear and not take into account a member is indeed wearing underwear. It is beyond me. Perspective. The thirst is definitely real at this location. Selfie city. Cell phones everywhere. Sitting on machines, taking selfies. I keep my head down and do my thing. People be peopling. What I value. Kindness. Respect. Helpful people. Doing my thing and empowering others to be themselves. Be strong. Never harm another. That being said. You never know what is in someone's mind. Until you ask them. For me. This is disappointing. It is corporate. It is also, Hollywood. I accept people, do my best not to judge. I do however, know underwear when I see underwear. I am not management. Positive - the design team. The plants, the black and white paintings, the chairs by the pool. The worn-in leather couches. The staff at earthbar. I am so bad with names - the spa people (a new masseuse I wish I could remember his name - so gifted). A new trainer Marcell - such good energy, a kind loving human being. Helpful. Zareye. Kind. Oh the one maintenance guy, he is so sweet. Wish I had the opportunity to say thanks for being so kind. Culver City is the move if you want kind people, cleanliness, helpfulness, and quality the brand tries to market. (Aside from one person with a cell phone in the steam room. Some people really don't care about other people). My mistake was not going to corporate directly.

The best part of staying at the hotel is that you get full access to the club, including the gym, pool, locker rooms, spa, sauna, and Jacuzzi. I used the locker room, sauna, and Jacuzzi and really enjoyed all of it. Very nice facilities and definitely the part of the experience that makes staying here different from a normal hotel. The locker room was a little confusing as a first-timer. I had no idea where I was supposed to get a locker or exactly how everything worked, and I happened to arrive at a very busy time. There seemed to be some assumed etiquette that everyone else already understood. A 30-second explanation at hotel check-in would go a long way. The hotel room itself was incredibly clean. Like, noticeably clean. Honestly cleaner than a lot of Marriott properties I've stayed at recently. Beyond that, though, the room is pretty no-frills. Mine was right near the elevator, so it was noisy, and despite being inside this grand historic athletic club, the actual hotel room experience somehow gives a little bit of motel energy. Clean motel energy, but still. Both the hotel staff and restaurant staff were very nice throughout my stay. For dinner I went to Invention, the club's lounge-style restaurant. Really nice atmosphere and a good place to hang out without having to leave the building. I ordered the steak frites and asparagus, plus a cocktail called Respect Your Elders, made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, St-Germain, Amaro Montenegro, and Angostura. Pretty good. Basically what would happen if an Old Fashioned developed a sweeter, slightly more herbal personality. I also had a Sangiovese, which really hit the spot after my recent trip to Italy. And then pecan pie for dessert. Yum. No notes. The steak came out a little more cooked than I would have preferred, but everything was very flavorful. For dinner entertainment, I happened to be sitting next to a couple on what appeared to be an exceptionally awkward first date. No reservation required for that show. The next morning I went to Famous Players coffee shop for breakfast. I had the California breakfast with eggs, avocado, and bacon, plus a latte. Solid breakfast, and more importantly, it was a nice place to wake up, open the laptop, and get some work done over coffee. I also appreciated the photos of USC football players on the walls. Fight On! Overall, I'm glad I stayed here. As a pure hotel, I probably wouldn't go out of my way for the rooms alone. But as a hotel attached to a historic athletic club where you can work out, swim, sauna, soak in the Jacuzzi, eat, drink, get breakfast, and basically spend your entire stay without leaving the building, it's a pretty unique experience. And as someone who had been considering membership, staying overnight was actually a great way to see what the club is really like.

But it now caters to a younger crowd and has substantial co-working space. I've certain found more members using the facilities but also discovered quite a bit of new programmings like the Pilates classes, mahjong club, live jazz performances and movie nights. I was not really sure about the change at the beginning but I am now fully embracing the new LAAC. Many of the staff and members have been here for a long time and it is nice to be greeted by familiar faces when coming to the club. The restaurants are pretty decent. Love to top my salad with a nice piece of salmon after workout at the Famous Players or have a tasty glass of scotch while enjoying the live jazz performance at the Invention. The sports bar Duke's has great happy hours and fun monthly evening karaoke or chess club meetings. The only thing I complain about is the need for shock absorbance and insulation of the noise or moving the weight station. The northwest corner of the Famous Players near Olive Street shakes every time the weightlifters drop their weights, which is very annoying and distracting for the diners. Feel like the ceiling or floor is going to drop out. No joke. For now, I would sit as far away from the northwest corner as I possibly can. But hope the club would look into it. I have been trying to sign up for the monthly wine tasting but they are always full. Maybe consider having the event more frequently or scale up? Regardless, I am still exploring all the new offerings at the club and really pleased with the Pilates classes and the live music performances. Although I am apprehensive when I first see the co-working space and the influx of new members, I now appreciate the additional events and classes that come with the new members and hope the club continues to do well and do better as I am here to stay.

Overall, it's a great gym with a friendly atmosphere and everything you need. Definitely one of my favorite gyms in the area. Highly recommend!

Whether it's someone throwing away the trash and putting new bags in the waste baskets or somebody mopping the floor in the locker room it makes you feel as if the place is cared about and cleanliness matters. I can only imagine that the next matter I'm about to mention, has been written about or mentioned several times. I understand that there might be building and tenant rules in play here and that the gym might not have much they can do unless it goes way further up the chain like corporate management. I would kindly request that this matter be addressed because it affects everyone, whether a member or visitor concerning the parking rates. I came in as a visitor on a guest pass. For someone who's canvassing the area for gyms to find to make their home it was a challenge. My first visit cost me $10 and my second visit cost me $20. This is something to be considered when someone is looking to make a facility such as this their base for their health and workout needs. You can easily see that if somebody goes to the gym a couple times a week it can result and up to $60 or more. Justin parking cost on top of that there's a membership fee. Sometimes people need a small getaway, sometimes time gets away from you sometimes you just wanna hang out in the pool for an hour or so, and we want to be able to do that without constantly checking the clock. While using the locker shower area (no curtains in the men's showers), I felt that a staff member repeatedly lingered nearby, stared at me while I was showering, and later entered the stall area I had been using when I briefly stepped out. He touched my naked body with his shoulder as I was re-entering my stall. I reported this immediately because I felt unsafe and violated. I spoke with the manager, Carlos, expecting the situation to be taken seriously. Instead, I was told I could "go to another gym," which felt dismissive and extremely unprofessional for a safety concern. Carlos also told me the employee involved is named Ray. He had a dark mustache. After leaving, the situation escalated further when a female employee came outside the building and yelled at me after already addressing me inside. Overall, this was a very disappointing first-day experience. I did not feel heard, supported, or safe as a new member, and the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. I will likely be canceling my membership after this and attempting to get a refund since I just signed up hours ago.

I needed my ping pong fix this Saturday and did not want to drive to the West side…read more My PP partner and I went to this place in K town. The parking is easy and plentiful behind the building. Grace, the nice person at the desk downstairs will charge the usual $7 for the day and up you go in an elevator to the 2nd floor after going through a large room with pool tables that was deserted on this hot afternoon. Interestingly, there is a minuscule but cute old fashioned barbershop inside next to the spa !? The ping pong tables are quite new and there is a net behind that's very convenient for the stray balls. There is also a robot for everyone to use for training. 5 stars if it wasn't for the broken air and the owner who was rude when enquired about the status of the AC : "you can take care of your own stuff" and it is always hot here": not nice!! I had a nice training and a good sweat!!!
