Love this place! The girls here are amazing and super friendly and easy going. I came in to chop off my ridiculously long hair for a shoulder length cut and Samantha nailed it! I was skeptical at first about going short and worried it would make my face look chunky but Samantha reassured me that it would look great on me! So happy I did it and love this little salon! Although the owner is friendly, i received completely unprofessional service from Samantha. It was my second visit to the Salon when i had an adverse reaction to the haircolor she used on me. I had to go to Emergency Room with srvere itching & dark red rash that encompassed by entire scalp. (I have been coloring my hair for several years before i moved to this area with no reaction) She offered no assistance or compensation of any kind & when i reached out to her by phone- she acted like she had zero knowledge with how to help me. (She told me to Google it) My medical bill was $150 & so was the salon bill. I still have text messages we exchanged & photos to show how severe my reaction was. My rash needed two types of creams, an injection & presciption medicines. All in all, her demeanor was aloof & her compassion zero. read more

I've been coming to Yudith for 10 years (since I was 13!) and she always gives me the perfect cut. I live in LA but try to see her when I'm back in Carp. Somehow, other salons I have tried in LA have left me unsatisfied. I have thin, long, wavy hair that I don't dye and I always get layers and a small trim. So it's pretty uncomplicated. Great hair salon in Carp! One friday night in early December I wanted to get my haircut before my company Christmas party. It was about 6pm and I went to two hair salons to get my hair cut. Both salons in Carp said it was too late and I needed to make an appointment. I went to Yudiths. Theere was a really sweet young girl who's station was right when you walk in on the right. She said I don't have an appointment for about a half hour and could take you. She washed my hair first, rubbed my scalp and then cut my hair. She gave me a great cut and was very personable the whole time. The second time I went she was with someone and I went to the owner Yudith. She also was very sweet and talkitive and I really enjoyed my 2nd time. Thanks ladies for making it such a pleasant time. I will definately be back! read more

I had a very negative experience here. When I walked in, they pretty much ignored me. It was extremely busy, and they put me with someone who seemed to be quite inexperienced, especially with curly hair. I wanted a tiny trim, and she proceeded to texturize my whole cut. The cut is uneven and shaggy, and it looks terrible. The stylist was sweet, but she seemed like she was in training and not yet a professional stylist. I emailed Yudith at the email on her website to explain the situation, and I haven't heard back from her...not very professional. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. In fact, I'd steer them away. read more

Yesterday i went into a very popular salon in Santa Barbara to get my hair done. I normally color my hair super dark, but wanted a change. I brought in 3 photos of how i wanted my hair to look. I wanted it to have a whole bunch of light brown woven in, and then huge chunks of light brown near the front of my face to lighten everything up. Instead I got orange/pumpkin hair color with old school highlights! The worst part is, the stylist re-did it 3 times and it still looked awful! I was in the salon for 4 hours! It was the worst experience I ever had! i left the salon looking TERRIBLE and very upset. As i started driving back home to Carpinteria, i passed by Yudith's salon on Carpinteria Ave, and saw the "Open" sign on the front door. It was 6:30pm but I thought I would pop in anyways and see if anyone could fix my hair tomorrow morning. A girl named Gina was working and was finishing up her last client. She saw my hair and told me to have a seat and that she would fix my hair that night! She stayed later just for me! Gina is a savior! She is young, knows whats in style, and is VERY knowledgeable. She told me that the hair style i was looking for is called Ombre and its extremely popular right now. The most surprising part is, my hair was super shinny and felt amazing. It didnt feel over processed or damaged at all! I was shocked because my hair was colored 4 times that day! She told me that my hair still feels healthy because she uses only Aloxxi products. Apparently Aloxxi is the best of the best and all the hair colors are made from Italian dyes. If you are looking for someone who knows the latest hair styles/trends, uses only top of the line products, and isnt over priced, then make and appointment with Gina at Yudith's salon! After having a baby and feeling blah about my appearance after neglecting my hair for a few months I went to Judith to make me pretty again! This was my first visit to her and I brought her a photo of what I wanted as well as described the type of cut and highlights I wanted. I chose this salon because a guy friend of mine recommended it and I wanted something in town and I was absolutely not disappointed! Yudith was awesome; she did a great job at first communicating with me to be clear about what I wanted and then giving me exactly what I asked for. She also made sure to give me some tips about the best way keep my hair healthy without being overbearing or judgmental with her advice. She is obviously a professional with something like ten years of experience, and I will be going back to her for sure! My only complaint was that there was a fine sprinkling of hair all over the floor - not like big clumps, but I could tell a white haired lady had been at the station before me and that skeezed me out a little. Overall the place was still nice and clean, they just need to sweep a little bit more often; not enough of a criticism to knock off a star! read more
