Isabel cut my hair and it's the best haircut I've ever gotten. The layers are perfectly blended. It was raining & she even sent me out with a shower cap so it wouldn't ruin my blow out, so sweet. I felt very heard when I told her what I wanted and didn't want. She constantly checked to make sure everything was even and clean and perfect. The hair-wash/head massage was also so relaxing and awesome. Thanks Isabel :) you're the best!

I had the most amazing experience with Evelyn. I trusted her judgement about my hair completely and because of her recommendation my hair feels and looks healthy despite having balayage done. The girls here are so warm and friendly. What an awesome environment for hair services!

LEAH IS AN ANGEL. I've been a client of Leah's for about 2 years now and I wouldn't want to go with anyone else! She is patient, hardworking and the most caring person. She genuinely listens to what you want and tries her best to do exactly that. You can tell when someone enjoys their job and Leah is the true example of that. Leah is so confident and knowledgeable with hair & hair color. I showed Leah an inspo hair pic and she nailed it spot on! She went above and beyond my expectations. Upon arrival to my appointment, I had quarantine hair. My roots were outgrown, hair was dry and the color was very monotone. Leah gave me a haircut with some nice layers and partial highlights with low lights to provide some contrast to the color. I went darker than what I had before but I completely love the new color. My hair feels so lively, healthy and bright again! I would recommend Leah to anyone and everyone. She is the absolute best! Thank you for all that you do Leah!

I got really bad curtain bangs when I asked for front framing layers and she said she would start about 1 inch past my chin and definitely not what I got. Now I have to hide my hair because it's awful and extremely blunt on one side. I wear my hair down the middle and now I can only wear it to the side if I want to wear it down. My appointment was 3 hours ago and I've tried everything to make it work and I can't. Do not recommend. This haircut was 80 dollars after tip.my hair is almost down to my waist and this is so hard to hide

For those of you who read this to put faces to names.

A friend of mine just called me very upset. On the brink of tears she told me about her visit to the color room. She explained that she wanted highlights in a silver pale blonde tone on her short hair and a freshen up of her cut which is to put it plainly a mens cut sides and back and long and full on top. She was told it would be no problem and as she sat in the salon chair . Pui the stylist was juggling four other clients and not creating the experience one would expect from the level of salon this is. Pui had to be reminded by the shampoo attendant to check on my friend. As she sat trying to make the best of a bad situation the stylist went on to inform her that she had no clue how to do her hair cut, that her hair would not be what she asked for color wise either. It would be purple and solid.... What is the point of conducting a consultation if the service you provide is NOTHING THE CLIENT ASKED FOR? Naturally seeing her hair shampooed my friend became upset (not angry or unrealistic) and asked Pui to stop the service because it had gone so far beyond what she wanted. My friend paid and in shock left to cry in her car. She left with dry, over processed blonde that had yellow, purple and brittle patches threw out it. After she composed herself she called the salon to see how they could resolve this. Now my friend has knowledge of the hair coloring process and is in law school so she isn't I'll informed. She asked the manager Misha how they could at minimum make her hair presentable and aid in the damage Pui created. Misha coldly ignored my friends desire for compromise and repeatedly told her no one wanted to work with her or her hair and offered a refund after multiple calls on my friends part. I have to say in my fifteen years of salon training I'm horrified by the amount of back talk the management and salon owner return to unhappy clients. People come to higher end salons to be uplifted and catered too not to be treated inferior or beneath anyone. The color room has lost its integrity as a quality salon in Santa Barbara and with these kinds of mistakes made by it's stylists I'd hope the owner would take the time and resolve the issues instead of ridiculing unhappy clients who leave bad reviews. I am ashamed with every level of the management team. The lack of respect,concern or solution for my friend and others left me speechless . To not only over promise on a service is mistake one, but to be rude and admit you had no idea how to perform or achieve the results you assured my friend you could handle is negligent. In fact ethically it's illegal. It makes me sick to know that this salon blames clients when their stylists make a mess of services and consultations. The management/owner have ZERO accountability for internal mistakes. Just to let you know You are nothing without your clients. People come to salons to feel better not worse. Based on the reviews I've read professionalism seems to go out the window with negative reviews. Pui - could use a bit more training on how to juggle clients successfully along with knowing her limits as a stylist. Misha - compassion is free and putting yourself in another's shoes isn't much to ask. The owner Sean - self reflection on your staff,working conditions and customer service is much needed. After all kindness is free. I am not looking for a response I am writing to be a voice for all of those people you have butchered along the way and treated like dirt because of your selfish pride. It should go without saying if you damage someone's hair comfort them, listen, and do what you can to make it right. Have pride in your work and your business. Most anyone in any service industry would do that at minimum. You don't just ruin peoples hair charge them and shove them out the door. Shame on THE COLOR ROOM. I will be filing a complaint with State Board and the Better Business Bureau. DO BETTER!

OH WOW! I love my hairstyle. I wanted to go purple in a big way, but I also wanted to be professional. My hair stylist Aryka did an incredible job! I love it so much. She also did the previous highlights (she touched those up) and added the orchid pink and purple. I've already received numerous compliments. I thought people might say, wow that 50 year old has some nerve coloring her hair, but I've received nothing but praise. Thank you Aryka. Alejandro helps her out and just makes me smile everytime I go to the Color Room.

Appointment with Ericka on 5.17.18. Customer service is excellent from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. I was nervous trying a new salon and chose this place because they were voted #1 in SB. Ericka was great! She explains every step of the process. Silly thing to share but she is excellent at massaging the scalp while shampooing. I have to share that because I've had horrible experiences before. She's easy to talk to and easy to work with. She listens to your concerns and questions. I was struggling with the big question - bangs or no bangs? Went with bangs and not disappointed. Would recommend Ericka and the salon! My husband wants to try her out next.

The scheduling was quick and easy, with the employee on the other end being so professional, helpful, and kind. I ended up going with a new stylist since my usual stylist was booked. The employee told me her name (the new stylist) was Emilee and I was booked for Friday at 6:45pm. When I arrived, the place was fairly empty - an unusual experience for me since I typically go on a weekend morning/afternoon when it's busy. It was nice to enjoy the space without many people! The salon is clean, beautiful, and comfortable, with different products decorating the main front wall. I checked in with front desk attendant (who was very kind) and only had to wait a couple minutes before Emilee came to get me. I was not only her last appointment for the day, but the very last appointment for the entire salon! It was a neat experience! Emilee is an absolute gem of a human. She immediately made me feel comfortable with her welcoming warmth and kindness. She is so down-to-earth and genuine; it felt like I was chatting with a friend! She gave me everything I wanted with my haircut, checking in with me every so often to see how I felt about the length, part, and side bangs. She even showed me a trick on how to calm down my fly-aways/new growth (a neat technique with a special comb and a little hairspray). Emilee truly made this experience probably the best salon experience I've ever had! May we all be so lucky to meet an Emilee in our lives! So grateful for her and this experience; looking forward to coming back! :)

Really disappointed with this visit. I asked for a light trim on the ends and to clean up the bulky…read moresides and even showed a reference photo but way too much hair was cut off. It ended up removing most of my perm that I had paid $200 for which was really frustrating. I felt like I was clear about what I wanted so this just wasn't what I expected.

I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. She was able to get me in at a time that did not conflict with my work schedule. That's one of the things I love about Kalib and the salons he works with, Kalib is so accommodating and his main priority is always to put his clients first. I have not met a hairstylist that is as talented and humble as Kalib. My experience was fun and I walked out feeling fabulous! I got balayage done, my expectations were exceeded. I have a lot of hair which can be stressful sometimes when stylists complain about how much hair I have and how long it is taking. Fortunately Kalib never makes me feel like my abundance of hair is a pain and we use the time to catch up. I am always in awe with all of his traveling stories. He is a Davines color educator so he gets to travel to give courses and take them as well. I have never met anyone as knowledgeable and committed as Kalib. He cherishes his work and clients. In addition to fun catching up stories, Kalib asked if I'd like a beer while we waited for the color to lift so I obliged. This is not the first time he's gone above and beyond. In the past when I go in early in the morning he'll be waiting for me with coffee and/or breakfast. I never expect these kind gestures but it is in his nature! Now, that is definitely not the reason I keep going back to him. I keep going back because my hair always looks fabulous and boosts my self-confidence by several points! About the salon: it is located in a prime downtown Santa Barbara location with plenty of public parking around. It is a small to medium size with a cozy feel. The decor has a very Santa Barbara feel with boats and ocean inspired objects. They have Caribbean coffee on tap and very friendly staff. I'm excited for future visits with Kalib here. I love his approach in walking me through the look I'm looking for, and adding his expertise to give me a realistic spin on what that look would look on me. He's always made me feel comfortable, and always over delivers. Every single time I have my hair cut with Ryan, it's an amazing experience, and to add to it, I receive so many compliments on the beautiful cut. This was a very special cut for me...
