This is my second time here and it's a highlight of trips to Batavia. Having lived all over the country has given me a love for great food and this establishment is hands down the best sushi I've had since moving from San Francisco and Sacramento back in 2019 where I lived combined for 2 years. The atmosphere is relaxed while still having the ability for a great date atmosphere as well. I had some sushi rolls , warm sake and some mochi which were all really good . While visiting a famous chocolate store in Batavia, we decided to stop by for some dinner. We were last here before the pandemic, so it was time to check it out again. This time, I got the birds nest, whereas my wife got the hibachi dinner. The chicken and beef used in the hibachi could've been better. The birds nest noodles was definitely worth trying at least once. Also, they had used extra large shrimp in it and it was also perfectly cooked. Lastly, the place was crowded when we came in, so we were moved to the bar. When tables were open, they went to new customers whereas we continued sitting at the bar with our large meals. Other than that, this is still the best sushi place in Batavia and one we'd go to again if we were visiting the area. read more

Husband surprised me with sushi for dinner! Our first place in NY since we moved. We took it to go and they accommodated my husband's sesame allergy which is amazing. Everything tasted delicious. I wish this place was closer to me but when I visit out in Batavia we always have to stop. They have some really good quality sushi and I love their noodles. Their playing is always exquisite! We had both beef and chicken yaki udon, white tiger roll and the take sushi combo. Both combos came with soup or salad. I love the Asian salad dressing. Everything I've ever had here is DELICIOUS. The coconut shrimp is my usual order, but I thought sushi sounded good last night so I ordered that instead. The sushi roll was so good! Very light and delicious. I also got miso soup, and our table shared crab rangoon. The crab Rangoon were hand folded and absolutely stuffed with filling. Yume had half the restaurant full of people when we walked in. We decided to sit at the bar where we were able to watch the waitresses make several midori cocktails. Talk about a time warp, their cocktail menu might as well have been from 1983. Nevertheless the sake was cold and good. The water had lots of ice and the miso soup came out very fast. The sushi, sashimi, and rolls were good and so far we feel ok. Never seen lemon with sushi before so we skipped it. Pickled ginger was so good we ate it all. Prices a little high for the location in a mini-plaza. Music rotated between electrohouse and disney musicals which was a little weird. Uneventful overall. read more

First time here. Very impressed with their takeout packaging. Everything traveled well, and food was hot. Friendly customer service, quick turnaround. Had food ready in about fifteen minutes from calling in the order. As for taste, wasn't my favorite hibachi. The tofu tasted deep fried with syrupy sauce rather than cooked on a grill top. My friends had the pad Thai and the mango shrimp. They seemed pretty happy with their selections. The menu has quite a lot of variety. I would definitely try again. Also thought their prices were pretty reasonable. Mine was $12 and it came with a small salad. read more

Unfortunately, it's the only place in Batavia to get sushi. I'm done with this place. It's over priced for the quality of the food. I'm pretty sure they were serving rancid fish for a while. They have good lunch specials but it's not worth it if you consider how inconsistent the food is. Do yourself a favor, take a 30 minute drive if you want sushi read more

This is my fiancé and I's favorite sit down restaurant for date night out in Batavia, NY! The service is always superb and the food is always mouth watering! My favorite dish is the coconut chicken and we always look forward to the food presentation. For a reasonable price you get a serving size big enough to share. Tried this restaurant back when you could actually dine in and wasn't that impressed. Decided to give it a try for some sushi. Ugh. Really wish I would have just driven to Wegman's. The sushi was probably one of the most disgusting things I've ever tried to eat. I say that because I couldn't even force myself to chew it. The texture was awful. Why on earth would they grind up the tuna before rolling it? Yes, you read that right, the tuna was ground up. Had my husband try and he agreed the it was gross. I ordered hibachi chicken and half of it was undercooked and my vegetables were not cooked and I specifically asked for Rice because I cannot have gluten and they gave me noodles. Also when I went to go pick up the meal the man was very rude and completely disrespectful and just acted like he was pissed off at me for even ordering. Just got finished with my second round of throwing up the chicken that I did manage to stomach down. I get a set lunch break so I can't just go to another place to eat so I relied on this place and now my entire work day has been ruined because I got food poisoning!! Go to Batavia once a year and seem to be very limited with good quality food choices. Went to this place with three of my coworkers, skeptical at first because of how far away we were from from fresh sea food. However I was very impressed by all of the speciality rolls the table got they all seemed very fresh and delicious according to them. I got the eel tempura roll and the Udon Chicken Miso soup. The eel roll was just alright, was not a big fan of the large portion of lettuce the put inside the roll, had no flavor or taste, in fact I had to take it out for the roll to taste better. I was impressed by the soup tho, the prices of chicken and Vegetables inside the soup were perfectly cooked and tender. The soup lacked a little flavor but was overall a good full portion. read more

Unfortunately for me I suffered food poisoning after my recent lunch. Everything was tasty but I was sick for 2 days afterwards.

This restaurant took me by surprise. I happened to be in the area, and after seeing great reviews, I decided to stop by. The restaurant itself is dimly lighted, and nicely decorated. We walked in and there was only one other customer. We were sat down and served very quickly. We started with a couple of appetizers and these blew me away. The Black Pepper Tuna was absolutely delicious. It wasn't overly spicy from the pepper, and the tuna was very fresh and tender. The sauce it came with accompanied it very well. The Salmon Tartar was also very tasty. For mains, we ordered an array of nigiri. Sweet shrimp, smoked salmon, yellowtail, fluke, scallop, squid, albacore, salmon, and Ikura. Everything was fresh and tasty, but the scallop stood out the most. It was the most sweet raw scallop I've ever had. We also ordered a couple of special rolls. The first one being the Rainbow Fantasy Roll which intrigued me. Seaweed-less, and rice-less. Unique, and very tasty with it's special sauce. The second one we ordered was the Spicy Twin Salmon Roll. With raw salmon, and smoked salmon. Another unique roll with a sweet mango sauce. We ended with green tea ice cream mochi. I want to point out, the staff are very hospitable and very attentive. I've got to say, overall for the small town of Batavia, this place really impressed me. I'd gladly return. read more

We are in the area on a business travel with my coworker so we weren't sure what this restaurant will be like. You could not guess by the outside of the restaurant that it looks so elegant and sophisticated on the inside. The decor is very high class. I almost felt bad that my husband can't be there with me and instead it is my (male) coworker - sorry Charles ;-). And the food is not dissapointing - it is absolutely delicious.
