While visiting a famous chocolate store in Batavia, we decided to stop by for some dinner. We were last here before the pandemic, so it was time to check it out again. This time, I got the birds nest, whereas my wife got the hibachi dinner. The chicken and beef used in the hibachi could've been better. The birds nest noodles was definitely worth trying at least once. Also, they had used extra large shrimp in it and it was also perfectly cooked. Lastly, the place was crowded when we came in, so we were moved to the bar. When tables were open, they went to new customers whereas we continued sitting at the bar with our large meals. Other than that, this is still the best sushi place in Batavia and one we'd go to again if we were visiting the area.

Yaki udon

I wish this place was closer to me but when I visit out in Batavia we always have to stop. They have some really good quality sushi and I love their noodles. Their playing is always exquisite! We had both beef and chicken yaki udon, white tiger roll and the take sushi combo. Both combos came with soup or salad. I love the Asian salad dressing. The service was very quick and the waitresses are very attentive.

Husband surprised me with sushi for dinner! Our first place in NY since we moved. We took it to go and they accommodated my husband's sesame allergy which is amazing. Everything tasted delicious. The place was very nice inside as he waited for the order to be made. We will be back for sure and recommending to others around the area!

Everything I've ever had here is DELICIOUS. The coconut shrimp is my usual order, but I thought sushi sounded good last night so I ordered that instead. The sushi roll was so good! Very light and delicious. I also got miso soup, and our table shared crab rangoon. The crab Rangoon were hand folded and absolutely stuffed with filling. I always go out of my way to come here, and I will continue to do so.

Yume had half the restaurant full of people when we walked in. We decided to sit at the bar where we were able to watch the waitresses make several midori cocktails. Talk about a time warp, their cocktail menu might as well have been from 1983. Nevertheless the sake was cold and good. The water had lots of ice and the miso soup came out very fast. The sushi, sashimi, and rolls were good and so far we feel ok. Never seen lemon with sushi before so we skipped it. Pickled ginger was so good we ate it all. Prices a little high for the location in a mini-plaza. Music rotated between electrohouse and disney musicals which was a little weird. Uneventful overall.

Very nice presentation

This was a really nice and surprisingly good sushi restaurant. I enjoyed the rapid service. The ambiance was nice and you can see skills in the picture I submitted. The price was great too.

Hibachi tofu with veggies and noodles

First time here. Very impressed with their takeout packaging. Everything traveled well, and food was hot. Friendly customer service, quick turnaround. Had food ready in about fifteen minutes from calling in the order. As for taste, wasn't my favorite hibachi. The tofu tasted deep fried with syrupy sauce rather than cooked on a grill top. My friends had the pad Thai and the mango shrimp. They seemed pretty happy with their selections. The menu has quite a lot of variety. I would definitely try again. Also thought their prices were pretty reasonable. Mine was $12 and it came with a small salad.

Coconut Fried Shrimp Appetizer

This is my fiancé and I's favorite sit down restaurant for date night out in Batavia, NY! The service is always superb and the food is always mouth watering! My favorite dish is the coconut chicken and we always look forward to the food presentation. For a reasonable price you get a serving size big enough to share. I never leave this place hungry and always have leftovers.

Very tasty, and very accommodating for food allergies! Rolls had lots of salmon, the spicy tuna was meh, hence the -1 star!

Unfortunately for me I suffered food poisoning after my recent lunch. Everything was tasty but I was sick for 2 days afterwards.

Food was excellent. Comparable to the best Asian food in NYC and Toronto. Definitely worth the drive from Buffalo or Rochester.

Ordered takeout. I don't like to rate restaurants on takeout, because it's never as good as…read moresit-down, but here I am anyway. The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

Ordered from Mahar Moe to try a new place for Chinese food; it offered Chinese and also Thai food…read more The whole family was extraordinarily impressed with the quality and quantity of food. We ordered takeout and the containers were bursting. Additionally, everything was fantastic. We got sweet/sour chicken, pad thai, General Tso, and egg drop soup and hot&sour soup. Everything was perfect. Additionally, upon pickup of the food, service was prompt and kind. It is a quaint space and I look forward to sitting down for food there in the future.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone. His mom runs the hotel and he and his brother run the restaurant. I recommend eating here if you're ever in the area.

I think it is family run as the mom was in and out of the kitchen and the waiter look related. The service was great, food was plentiful and unique, but make a reservation or you'll be sorry!
