Thai Orchard has been that special "go to" restaurant through the years. Their delicious food was there to be picked up during the COVID years and they stayed strong. They serve top notch Thai food. What makes them extra special however is their service. The owner always greets diners with warmth. Tonight's message, "How are you? It's good to see you again." My server clearly understands the importance of caring friendly service and he treated me as a valued guest. The dining room is comfortable and quiet, which is perfect for dining conversations or just checking email if you are dining like I was. I will admit that the room has aged a bit but it's still clean and pleasant. My Tom Kha soup had a tasty broth and was filled with chicken. The Pad Kee Mao lacked "spiciness" even though it is described as "stir fried spicy flat rice noodles in chili sauce" and I asked for medium heat. However it tasted great but I know it would be even better with heat. So, my update still rewards 5 stars and if you are looking for Thai this is a great option? read more

My friends really like Thai food. Thai Orchid has a high rating so I recommended we go there. We shared a vegetable & Tofu tempura, it came with a sweet & sour sauce. Then we ordered 3 different curries to share-the green curry with pork, the Garee curry with tofu and the shrimp and pineapple curry. The Garee is a yellow curry with potato and yellow squash. Shrimp & pineapple curry is marked as their specialty. My friends like massaman curry and that is usually on a Thai restaurant's menu, it is not on the menu. For dessert we tried the sweet rice with custard. It is both sweet and savory, an interesting taste but not for me. The restaurant is clean with tasteful decorations, service was friendly. read more

We returned to Thai Orchid for dine in today for the 1st time since before Covid. I loved walking in and seeing their signature fesh flowers on all the tables. Such a nice touch. We both ordered off the lunch menu and both started with lemongrass soup. Forgot a picture. I usually order pad thai here but forced mys4lf to try something else. I ordered the Vietnames4 Curry. The curry was at the perfect spice level for me. I ordered medium. The dish was loaded with tons of chicken & nice crisp veggies. Is this the best, most authentic Thai restaurant in the area? I don't know. Thai Orchid Cafe is a small restaurant located in an ordinary plaza. It's like an exotic island in the middle of nowhere. There is always sunshine, great hospitality and, most importantly, delicious food. The atmosphere is relaxing, laid back, and I truly appreciate every aspect of the experience. It's an art of enjoying the little things. Looking at my plate with Shrimp Pad Thai makes me smile and feel happy. Do I need anything more? Upscale Thai restaurant with disappointing portions and service. Food: Good flavor. Small portions for dinner. I was still hungry which was disappointing, considering how much the food was. Vegetables were chopped too big which impacted our eating experience. Service: Friendly but slow. There were a total of five parties in the restaurant, and it took 10 minutes to take our order. We went to this restaurant twice for dinner and saw only couple of tables occupied on weekends. Service is slow because they don't have waitresses and the food is not as good as it used to be. They have doubled their prices and halved their quantities. The curry udon noodles dish I had hardly had any noodles with the curry and had to order a bowl of rice to finish the dinner. The pad Thai is literally half the quantity as before. Don't think we will be going back and I have a feeling this place will be closing soon. Incidentally there were no orchid flower placed on each table too, which was their signature decor! read more

Unfortunately this restaurant is suffering from a lack of help and seating too many tables. On our visit Friday it took a long time to be waited on and at first the restaurant wasn't crowded. All of our dishes came out barely warm. Also we have eaten here a lot and the portion sizes were a lot smaller. PLEASED TO REPORT THAT THE DINING ROOM IS FINALLY OPEN AGAIN for in-house sit down dining as of about August '24. Food? Menu unchanged and food is still outstanding. Prices? Reasonable, very reasonable. Service? Staffing appeared a bit thin but not overwhelmed. I understand the beloved Katie, a server here for over 12 years, moved on to pursue a degree in nursing. Wherever she lands will be very LUCKY to have her. One last note and warning: It appears that the Thai Orchid website has been hacked. read more

This is one of our go-to spots for Thai food in the area. The staff is always very friendly and we felt that too extra precautions during Covid. Our go-to order is always pad-see-ew with extra noodles and no broccoli. The price of the meal compared to the amount you get is very reasonable and the quality of the food is very good, as well. The spring rolls and fresh rolls are also very delicious, and they don't skimp on the veggies and contents inside the rolls. We also enjoy their Tom Kha soup too and our children especially like their veggie fried rice. Every dish we have ordered has always been delicious so it's hard to say anything bad. We haven't dined-in in a while and have stuck to takeout but would like to get back soon for a dine-in meal! read more

Updated 10/30/19: Back for more yumminess! Tried the Pad See Ew noodles with shrimp. That was a yummy dish, packed with flavor and shrimp! Not spicy enough for me at a medium spice level. The shrimp wonton floating in chicken broth with sesame oil was good for a change but not spectacular. I usually order the Tom Yum Soup or the creamy cocoanut based soups, which I much prefer in comparison. It's always good to try something new- but "old is gold," right?! One of my favorite restaurants to visit whenever I'm in the buffalo area. My parents are regulars here, they often meet at Thai Orchid for lunch because it's close to both of their offices. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, and as my parents are creatures of habit the staff remembers their orders! The pad see ew noodles or pad kee mao noodles are my personal favorites. Stopped in a few weeks ago to try the lunch menu. It's located in one of the strip malls on Evans, where you can find several little hidden gems. It wasn't very crowded and pretty quiet. The waitress was very friendly and helpful in making a selection. I ordered the Basil Fried rice and my companion or pad Thai .. The food came out pretty quick and looked great. It wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but the taste was pretty good. They had a pretty decent lunch special and the tea was great. If I needed to say much about this place ir would be personality .. it just didn't have an upbeat tone. Perhaps I will try them again for dinner ome evening to see if it has a different vibe. Everything came out quickly (within 10 minutes) and it was still hot when we arrived home. I'm continuously impressed with small restaurants who are hustling and making sure their business stays open while serving customers with an full heart. Quick service and fantastic food. I have heard a few mixed reviews about this place, but my wife wanted to try it so here I go with my take on Thai Orchid Cafe. The restaurant is very neat and fresh looking. Its a small place but still a comfortable size that your not sitting on top of each other. the food was just ok to me, but my wife loved it. we had the spicy steak skewers, i thought that was good. it came with some very good dipping sauces. The one dish we both didnt like at all, was the fish cakes. I do not understand what part was fish. all we tasted was rubbery half dollar coin sized disc. the last dish we had was the Pad see ew, this is my favorite dish, but not from this place. the sauce was a bit to strong and the dish seriously was short on noodles. would i come back, maybe if the wife ask to come. As of 4/23/18 I have come back for their lunch special. I strongly encourage you to do the same. For $7.95 you can't go wrong. read more

We had business lunch here. I was very impressed with the quick service. Moreover, the staff was very accommodating to our requests to move a few tables around to seat our rather large party. The server took the time to explain our order, and ensured that our vegetarian and vegan requests were accurately fulfilled. As for the food, the Basil Fried Rice was divine! Despite being a vegetarian option, it was packed with flavor. The salmon was also adequately cooked and had a nice char to it. However, it was a tad bit overcooked. All in all, the experience was well worth the trip. Addendum: The next day, I ordered some food to go (due to the great dining service the previous day). The Orchid Cafe has good, flavorful Thai food with great service. They have curries, noodle dishes, rice dishes, vegetarian dishes, and delicious soups. We ordered Pad See Ew and Pad Prik Khing today for take-out and overall it was good. My husband said they made the food in 7 minutes within him being in the restaurant and ordering!! They have a 1-4 star spicy level, and we ordered the Pad See Ew to be 4 star and the Pad Prik Khing to be 3 star. They weren't spicy at all. :( We got two mini containers of Thai crushed chili and hot sauce, but that wasn't that spicy either. :( If you want actual-Thai spicy, I don't think this is the best place to satisfy the spicy cravings. Also, although the food was good, the portion size was a bit smaller than expected. I think there may actually be a difference with the dine-in amount of food and take-out amount. Cute little spot we stopped at for lunch. We had the Thai iced coffee which is such a nice sweet treat. Our appetizers were pot stickers and spring rolls which were both awesome - so flavorful and I love the dipping sauces that they came with. And then for our main course we each had chicken pad Thai.
