The service was quick. We walked in and they seated is right away. Our drinks were included with our meal. The food was hot, the food had a lot of flavor and a lot of sauce on it. Definitely not dried out like in some buffets. Everything was fresh. My favorite was the peanut chicken and the crab ragoons. The restaurant was very cozy. The price was extremely reasonable. It's a buffet, nothing all that special. Good food, average price, sometimes fails to restock food, food can be cold sometimes. Don't get the French fries, they suck. They have a great selection of food, and it is very tasty. The price is great for the quality of food you get. Try the coconut shrimp- it is delicious! They have a grill in the back as well as sushi choices. They can also accommodate larger groups and have a private room in the back. read more

It's been a while since I've visited a Chinese buffet, but while visiting family in the area, they suggested we go to Peking Buffet. It was your average buffet experience. I thought it was cool that they had a Mongolian grill in the back. They had pretty much everything you could want including a great variety for dessert. So 5 stars in celebration of the return of Chinese buffet. I honestly can't decide whether to deduct a half of a star or to add a half of a star because of the disposable plates and utensils. But I know how difficult it is this year for businesses, especially restaurants, to find workers. On that issue alone, I think disposable service items is a grand solution. So bump those stars up. Employees were friendly enough and attentive. We arrived about 1 p.m. and there were only a handful of other diners. Plenty of spacing between diners. Employees all wore masks. Tables sanitized after diners left. In all, based on my experience this afternoon, I recommend this restaurant. It is at the far end of the strip of B.J.'s Plaza. *update* After returning home both myself and my son were sick. Food temps folks, it's the difference between leaving a meal feeling satisfied and leaving your customers hugging the toilet. Well, it was a good meal overall but honestly the buffet steam trays were cold, so unfortunately so was the food. The employees are EXTREMELY rude and don't have any problem letting you know they are talking about you even if it's in another language. The food was called and many trays were empty even at 7:30 when they don't close until 10. This was our first time here. The selection was as big as any Chinese buffet we have been to. Almost everything we ate was very good...but the peanut butter chicken and sushi was exceptional!! I suppose this is as good as any other Chinese buffet. They did have quite a few nice selections including a Mongolian made-to-order grill. Food was very reasonably priced. The reason this place is so quiet is because everyone in there is stuffing their faces on the buffet. You pay before you enter. Makes it easy to get in and out quickly which is why I stopped there. Peel and eat shrimp were mediums and kept in ice along with lemon slices. The also had sushi on a plate under cellophane for those who dared to try. Nice table of desserts and ice cream. Service was very good. They refilled my soda even before it was empty. Nice cherrystone clams. I didn't see any crablegs, but they did have enough of the surimi. read more

the food was horrible, undercooked, and definitely not worth the money. when I went there vegetable rice was half full and literally had 2 peas and 1 carrot in it, the butter potatoes were not cooked long enough and hard, the chunks of meat and loose breading that was supposed to be honey chicken was bland and watery. the restaurant is larger and has many open seats but they cram people into tables like sardines and if you ask to be moved to an available booth they just put you in a another table booth section and start filling that up. I used to love this place and took my family all the time but I haven't been in a couple years because it went downhill. The started letting the food on the buffet run out or sit there too long and it started getting dirty. They say you can tell a lot by the restrooms and they were not being kept clean. When we go cross boarder shopping, we always pass through the city and stop by for some big box shopping. I would like to say this buffet is defiantly not real Chinese food (Half is just American food) but I was in in the states so I guess I would be asking too much if they do make it similar to the one I make at home. The decor well, it is old and run down looks like it is built at the early 90s. They use halogen bulbs instead of food warming lamps which concern me because the tables they put the trays of food on doesn't look it has warming capabilities. The buffet isn't much of a buffet really with not much of a variety, with greasy fried rice and food drowning with greasy and salty sauce. The "Mongolian stir fry" (which isn't really Mongolian) looks OK because they make it for you right on the spot but I didn't try it. Me and family just choose to stick with steam clams and shrimp to play it safe. My recommendation to the owner would be to add vegetable dishes because I recall there was absolutely NO the vegetables dishes what so ever. On the plus side, the servers and owner are nice tho and it is cheap compared to Chinese buffet back in Ontario and looks like it serves the little town well. Would I go back? No, but I like the theme of the mom and pop restaurant and the locals seems to enjoy it. 2 stars for the effort. read more

It really depends on the time of day you get there, because meals seem to be better at the peak lunch hour when it is busy. Today, the meal was just cold, stale and blah. We wouldn't tolerate the rudeness from any one else but because they dont speak English you are supposed to overlook it. My wife got hit by a waitress caring a high chair...never even looked back. One year before, I chose to eat here while deciding to explore Batavia more. I came across this restaurant and ate here. I ended up with a bunch of rude looks during that time. Quite unpleasant to eat with this... intense and strange atmosphere around me. Felt as if I was unwanted. I walked to the bathroom to get rid of this tense feeling and the bathroom needed some maintenance. I got home and was sick the day after. I returned after the new year had begun, expecting that this time, I would get a different result from what I had experienced. Ate here with a lingering sense of the same atmosphere as the year before. The food was a bit more pleasant than last time. To be honest, I liked it. Staff... still needs a bit more improvement. The bathroom was a bit more changed. I like the effort they've put into these changes, but it still needs more. Overall, I kinda enjoyed it. The food at this buffet is very good "BUT" make sure you go during the dinner rush between 5:30pm and 7:30pm this way the food will be fresh and there will be lots of it. Other time during the day the food tends to not be so fresh and small portions are made. If you plan to go for the crab legs you have to be on top of them as they tend to be very cheap and only make 5-6 portions of legs which gets taken quickly they really need to learn to make a large batch especially when their customers are paying extra to have the seafood. Sometimes they will stare at you for taking all the crab legs. They will also seem frustrated when you ask them to make more crab legs but be insistent!! I have also heard waitresses tell customers who ask for crab legs they don't know about it. Other times the ladies bringing out the food will say they're not sure if there is more they will check. Don't fall for that they have more crab legs. Be insistent!! You pay good money you deserve good service. You also have to be on top of the waitresses they will sometimes forget to bring your drinks. Loved the layout of the Buffet-and variety of food and soups-the Hot and Sour soup was the best i've ever tasted. BUT-the service-is really non-existant-no real feeling that the owners/staff like you, a very cold atmosphere from the staff in general. My husband and i have been there many times-with friends as well-but we all agree-those that own and run the place are not friendly or warm at all. It's not a welcome atmosphere at all. Please don't go to Peking Buffet in Batavia. The owner charged us at the register "a tip" to the total (party of two) because we don't tip even though we do multiple times. We tip when the service is great. The guy that was there was amazing and we would always over tip him because the service was great. He had our drink order memorized and brought it to the table right away and always checked on us. Cleaned off plates as needed and told us to have a nice day when we left. (We would actually chase him down to hand him the tip personally). He left for college so we are stuck with the women servers. The women servers on the other hand are a different story Their service is questionable at best. Their attitude is always horrible like they don't want to work there. They talk shit in front of you because you can't understand what they are saying, but they point at you when they think you aren't looking. Our drinks show up at our table halfway through the meal and half the time they don't come back to refill drinks. This is why we don't tip. They are snotty and the service sucks. Server actually chased us out to the parking lot one day after having horrible service wondering why we didn't leave a tip. (We go because the food is great. Tip is for service not food) We used to tip at the register before the meal, but that stopped real quick since the above mentioned started happening.
