She got a make your own Poke bowl and for $15 ($1.75extra for avocado) there was a lot in there. Tuna, spicy salmon, seaweed salad, mango, edamame sushi rice and a bunch of other fresh goodness. The best part was the quality of ingredients for a very timid place. I got a signature roll and asked them to add fresh thin jalapeños within it. Wonderful accommodating service and Absolutely delicious. We ate there because I really don't like taking sushi home. It was pretty cold outside so we had our coats on even when inside, but like I said before, the price and more importantly the tasty quality more than made up for It. THE most bland ramen I have ever had in my entire life. I am absolutely amazed this place has ratings this high. Save your money and get your ramen somewhere else. We have people over and ordered a handful of ramen noodles. EVERY single one of us is disappointed. Egg - Never had an egg THIS overdone in my entire life. Beef - overcooked, chewy, flavorless. Broth - completely bland, may as well be water. Again, I'm completely mind blown that this place has such high ratings. I'm *actually* annoyed we spent our money on this. A package Maruchan or Buldak has WORLDS of flavor more than this. In fact... of the 4 people who ordered from here, 2 of them asked me if we have any Buldak they could eat instead. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by how tasty my spicy tuna roll and tuna avocado roll was. It isn't the best quality, but for the value, definitely with it! Ingredients taste super fresh, the only thing I will suggest against is ordering the chicken in your poke bowl. I got the spicy ahi tuna and chicken, the ahi tuna was great but the chicken is bland....taste too "healthy" , I will be skipping that next time, but I definitely will be returning. I've been here two times in the last 2 weeks and am definately a fan of their sushi rolls. Their fish and ingredients are pretty fresh. The price of the rolls and specialty rolls aren't too expensive and they have a decent selection. I always love ordering specialty roll as it let's the chef show off their creativity but when I read the menu it all seemed really similar and I wasnt too excited to order multiple to try in one sitting. It might be helpful to provide pictures with the menu somewhere online of each roll so that customers are able to visualize what it may look like. Their lunch Maki rolls is a great deal and is offered on the weekends! 3 rolls for 12.99 with a canned beverage. I had initially wondered if ordering them individually would equal to a larger portion but that doesn't seem to be the case when I ordered it for dinner the second time. After eating the sushi rolls, the poke bowls didn't really provide the same satisfaction. I found it to be a bit on the lighter side in flavor compared to the rolls. It would be nice if they offer sauce on the side for customers to add to the bowl. I did see a previous comment that they "drenched it" so I'm wondering if they are being cautious of that. The quantity, price, and quality of their fish is incomparable to any other poke place in Connecticut. Whoever thinks any other sushi or poke place is better than here you are WRONG. I have no idea who their supplier is but their sashimi is so fresh it's comparable to poke I had in Hawaii. My fiancé who doesn't even like sushi likes their sushi if that doesn't convince you. This place used to be an Italian catering operation, now it's home to a small family-owned Japanese eatery. I decided to try their sushi to see how they stack up against some of the other places in the area. The spicy tuna roll was average, tasted like it should. The Philly roll had lots of cream cheese but not much smoked salmon. The spicy crunch shrimp roll was also average. The Ohana roll, despite it being labeled as a special roll, was only okay. The two rolls I genuinely enjoyed were the spicy krab roll (much more flavorful than the other rolls I've mentioned thus far)and the "rock n" roll (easily my favorite from what I ordered and it's not even a special roll). The food here is decent and it's also less expensive overall than some other establishments, but for the best Japanese food in the area, I'd recommended either Sono Bana or Roishi. read more
