I regret to say that this place really needs improvement we spent $50 for a meal for two there were several plates all cold with exception of one we didn't get a nice greeting nor did we get tea nor did we get soup nor did we get a friendly waitress the meal was the worst Chinese food we have ever had is sad to have to give a report this bad but we were sold disappointed we didn't even take all the leftovers which most of it was left over I would not recommend this place. So my sister and I tried this place. And the food was so yummy. ( LoL)..portions are really good, fresh. Owner is traditional , and if you don't know Asians don't expect her ( as I see in other reviews )to be bubbly and American expected, she is serious and to the point. Which for me, is ok since my family came to this country and is the same. Place is small, not a lot going on. I feel they put it all and are making it a success on their food, which too me Yummy. Only thing I wish was more was their egg rolls( I call them envelopes), so small and hardly any filling, my sister had their won tons, they looked like tortilla chips?. A little hole in the wall on Ave A this place I have never been in for as long as I lived in Yuma. Well, today that changed. Unfortunately, I cannot give this place a rave review. I order a number 11 daily special on their menu and it saddened me that the chow mein noodles were the blandest I've ever ate. The BBQ pork and the fried rice were barely meeting my average ranking in terms of taste, however, the bbq pork looked like a mangled mess. Maybe this was an off day????? I suppose if you're trying for low sodium option go for their chow mein noodles. It will probably be a long time before I feel like spending any money here again. That's about as honest I can be. 1 star = You call that food? I wouldn't even feed it to my dog! 2 stars = below average per my standards 3 stars = it's just average. I'll eat it! 4 = it's good! I'll be back for more! 5 stars = beyond my standards and impressed! You have won me over and a loyal customer for life. Always hot & fresh, fast, affordable, and with good selections! 20 dinners are $5.25 with GENEROUS portions! We've been going here 15 years or so. Very consistent. Mary, the hostess/waitress is also fluent in Spanish! I worked in a local "hole-in-the-wall/best-kept-secret" Chinese restaurant for YEARS before this place opened. The food is comparable to the place I'd worked where the chef was educated in Hong Kong in the culinary arts school there. read more

Not sure what the other reviewer's problem was but this place is pretty good. Its not the prettiest place to go to but I could care less for restaurant aesthetics. Typically when I go to Chinese restaurant's I avoid the Americanized food as much as possible. You know the sweet and sour whatever and the mongolian meaty something, and the military general's poultry dish. You know what I am talking about. Fortunately at this place you can actually get food that is more Chinese than American and can even ask for it that way. Cool, huh? The menu is nice and small. I went there with my family and ordered for dinner bok choy, barbeque pork ribs, spicy shrimp (don't remember the exact name), and beef noodles. The bok choy was nice and the sauce that was on it was light and flavorful. The bbq ribs were juicy, tender, and tasty. The sauce on them complimented them just right. The noodles were these long rice noodle that were flat and about an inch wide. These were a favorite of mine and my kids. The garlic shrimp was good and spicy (detected maybe a hint of worcestershire sauce which went actually quite well). The only issue with the shrimp was that it was an incredibly small serving. The ribs on the other hand were a huge serving. Much more than I expected. Overall, the place is a nice quiet place to take some friends or your family to for a simple Chinese meal. This is the kind of place you would go to regularly if you went out for dinners regularly. I've read on other reviews that the tofu and black bean dishes are definitely worth trying. I'll have to try those next. read more

First at this place and I'd have to say it's pretty dead. Prices are ok but the food quality is bad. I ordered General Tso Chicken, Chicken with Black Bean, and Egg Fried Rice. The General Chicken is all bad coated fried chicken covered in buffalo sauce! Chicken with black bean - oily and far off from what Black bean sauce tastes like. And last "Egg" Fried rice- there was barely to no egg at all. The taste of the food is horrible. This place is not Chinese's Food! read more

Excellent! I got tofu with vegetables and fried rice, the tofu was superb, light and very tender, and the rice was amazing. I was staying in a hotel in Yuma during a cross country drive, this place was recommended by the woman working there, I see why. I love this place! Have been going to Yummy Yummy's for years now. I can care less for the appearance of the restaurant, because trust me, at first glance it definitely looks like a genuine hole in the wall back alley restaurant. However, the food is amazing and the prices are more than reasonable with amazing portions (you will need a box!). The lady, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband, are amazing people they are there on a daily basis and they will recognize you and say hi and ask you 'how have you been?' especially her. I love love love this place. It may sound tacky but don't judge a book by its cover, because this book will tell you to be ware. A hole in the wall with no atmosphere, but serving some of the best/most authentic Cantonese food (with a Mexicali flair) that you can get. Try the tofu dishes (the tofu is perfectly fried and wonderful), kung pao chicken, pork with chilies and black beans, special chop suey, egg foo yung, chicken with black beans, shrimp or squid in spicy sauce, etc. Ask about Chinese vegetable offerings. This is the only place around where you can sometimes get Chinese greens or long beans in foo-yee sauce. read more

The food is superb. We have eaten a lot of Chinese food and I must say that each dish was distinct in Chinese character and flavor. We had Shrimp in hot sauce, Fried tofu and beef, and Bok choy. Prepared in an authentic style without any thickeners! All three dishes had minimal amounts of the "filler vegetables" found in Americanized Chinese food. Good service by a tri-lingual Chinese waitress (English, Spanish, and Chinese) The food is five-star, but the environment is not. If you are hard of hearing the acoustics will work against you. The first table we sat at was "tippy" so we moved to another. Two of the chair seats needed to be wiped off. Finally, bring your cash because there is a charge to use a credit card: .50 if you use a charge card, or 3.3 % if the total is over $17.00. Honestly, food as good as this deserves a better place to be eaten. If we get this way again we'll get carry out! read more

Hi, for anyone who likes typical Chinese food go somewhere else. If you like good Chinese food,go somewhere else. Just go somewhere else actually because this place is the worst. You walk in and they have a small dirty fish tank with half of the coy fish in the the world living in it. Not cool. Anyway if you can look past that ( it's hard I know) and make the mistake of ordering food, know that it will be bland, overpriced and a small portion. We got the family style for two people and it came out to almost 20.00 it included 5 small single serving white boxes and the sweet and sour chicken tasted like fried chicken in a jelly paste like jello if it thickened on your meat but less sweet and more goo. Yummy yummy right? Anyhow, you get an egg roll per person because they spoil you like that and the egg roll is filled with what appears to the eye as cabbage and carrot. We think, you can guess to when you look at the picture. I have to disagree with most of these other reviews. I thought the food was mediocre AT BEST. It wasn't awful but nothing I would go out of my way for, and probably not good enough for me to go a second time. I will never go there again. When we walked in it reeked. I'm thinking it was the fish tank they have at the doorway. When the waitress brought us our utensils there was rice stuck in the fork. The sodas are canned and they bring you a cup of ice along with it that they scoop out of an ice chest, the ice was dirty. both of us had pieces of black something in our cups before pouring the soda. the food was brought out REALLY fast. almost too fast, makes you think they are just reheating old food. the sweet and sour chicken had a really bland flavor. was not happy at all. read more

I really like this place. It is family-owned and in a location almost impossible to see from the street. They have a simple menu with many items listed for less than $4.75. The atmosphere is simple and what you would expect for food of this price range. The owner's daughter told me that they've been there for more than 10 years. I had searched for Chinese restaurants in the Yuma area and the restaurant wasn't listed. I hope this review puts them on the map for other out of town folks. read more

Supposedly they have a five dollar special. I ended up paying almost 10 and the soda drinks are a soda can with a cup of ice cubes. I was not really satisfied even though they serve big portions. What I liked it was they had the tv with a soccer game on. I asked for something not in the special menu, So part of it could of been my fault. read more
