I've gone to Yun Yun multiple of times to get bridesmaids dresses hemmed and she also did me the honors of altering my wedding dress (which is not a small task). I went to Yun Yun 4 weeks before my wedding. Yun Yun was so kind and let me come a little bit later since I was still trying to lose more weight for my wedding. After the initial drop off, I came back each week for 3 weeks straight to try on the dress and ensure we were moving towards the right direction. Yun Yun would also text me photos of the how the dress was looking and the progress her team has made so far. My dress was quite large on me and it took Yun Yun's team a lot of time to thoroughly pull in the dress to ensure it fit nicely. My dress was also filled with very intricate flower lace detailing and Yun Yun had to cut through some of the flowers to make the dress fit better. For the end result, I wasn't even able to tell she cut through the flowers. She did such an incredible job. I picked up my dress the week of my wedding and was so happy with how it turned out. I was initially concerned that the top of my dress was too revealing and Yun Yun was able to cover it up by taking the flowers from the bottom of my dress and adding it to top. I needed to alter my maid of honor dress in time for my cousin's wedding and she recommend I visit Yun Yun. The reviews were obviously positive and I was impressed that she was able to alter more complex dresses so decided to give her a try. I called ahead of time to make an appointment and she was able to fit me in the next day. When I got there, she had me try on the dress and I talked about what bothered me/what I wanted fix (my complaint was that the dress was too boxy around the waist and overall appeared rather shapeless/was not very flattering). She then worked her magic and pinned almost the entirety of both sides to bring the waist in (as well as a bit on the hips and chest). I considered asking her to make it a little more dramatic but decided to trust the process. She charged me almost $100 which was a little more than I expected but also reasonable considering she had to basically re-do the seams on both sides. I picked up the dress a few weeks later and it was beautifully done! The alterations were subtle but the overall effect on the dress was dramatic and made it much more flattering. I postponed my wedding from 2020 to 2021 and at the last minute, I decided to buy a new dress. As a result, I had very little time for alterations - only about 3 weeks before I left town. I only needed hemming and a bustle, luckily. But even so, I thought I would give whatever tailor I met a heart attack with that timeline. Yun Yun was very sweet and worked with me to make sure we had enough time for any changes I might want. I went in for the first fitting and we talked about the hem and the bustle. I didn't know what kind of bustle I wanted, so she held up the train to show me a few different styles. She had me wear my wedding shoes and pinned the hem, then she also measured my heel just in case! At the second fitting, she had sewn the hem but left the fabric intact so she could easily undo everything if I wanted it longer or shorter for some reason. I liked what she did, so then we were onto the final fitting: everything was perfect! The bustle was so elegant and exactly what I needed, and I was so happy that I wouldn't be tripping over my dress at all. Yun Yun is clearly very knowledgeable and skilled. I'm so glad she helped me. Yun Yun deserves 10 stars as she saved my wedding day! I had ordered my wedding dress from Europe, and unfortunately, did not receive the dress until 4 days before the wedding. Needless to say, I was a bit stressed as I was not sure if I could find someone to alter the dress in time, and if not, whether jeans would be a good look for a wedding. I called Yun Yun on Monday 12/16 at 5 pm, and was able to get a 7 pm appointment. She took in the the bustier and hemmed the underlayment and returned a "perfectly fitted" dress within 24 hours! Yun Yun is such a gem! I knew after reading the other reviews that she was my first choice of tailor if available to hem my wedding dress a few months ago. I called her up and was able to get an appointment right away. She was also very close to me in the Sunset, which was a great bonus. She was super kind, friendly, and easy to chat with. Apparently she's been in the city for decades. When I showed her my trumpet-style dress and told her I wanted floor grazing, she knew exactly what I wanted and pinned it up a little extra in the front. I didn't trip at all on my day and I did a lot of walking! The process was easy: I walked in with my wedding dress and shoes, changed in her little makeshift dressing room, she pinned up the skirt and I approved and paid, left it there for a month, and it was ready and waiting on the appointed day. She checked it on me before I left to make sure I was happy with it. She charged a very reasonable rate based on my understanding of similar alterations, and didn't balk at my online-ordered dress with two layers (I know some tailors in the Bay say they'll only alter a certain pedigree of dress, which just seems kind of awful to me). The alterations looked beautiful: you couldn't even tell it had been altered! It was a very lacy dress and easy to snag but she kept it in pristine shape. I almost cried on my wedding day when I got a bunch of twigs and leaves in the skirt and it got a little shredded at the bottom after looking so perfect, but such is the life of an outdoor bride ;) I would recommend Yun Yun for any delicate/fine tailoring needs (or non-delicate too, I'm sure). I came here with some ripped jeans on the inner thigh section and a pair of overalls that my mom gave me that were way to baggy around the hips and thighs and wasn't flush around my chest (sorry for the run on sentence). Yun was descriptive and answered all my questions about what she can do to help. It was $60 to fix up the overalls and $30 to patch up my jeans. This was the first time I've gotten something tailored so I really can't say if that's expensive or a good price (shrug). She had a whole wall next to the cashier of wedding pictures that brides had sent her thanking her for her work on their dresses! This place is great. I took my wedding dress here last year and I can't believe I took so long to write the review! I tried a couple different places in the outer sunset first and their quotes were over $1000! They saw that the dress was expensive and instantly increased the price (I got the dress 75% off). This place took in the sides, adjusted shoulders, hem, and added cups. I had a fitting before the final pick up. So affordable, so quick, and absolutely perfect!!! No fuss, no nonsense service. I had my gown shortened, both skirt and petticoat, to match my heels height as well. It was apparently a delicate sort of alteration since there was little room for error with the hem, but she pulled it off no problem. She was very honest and upfront about my dress and what it would take to alter it. I'll admit, my main motivation for getting my wedding dress altered at Yun Yun was its convenient location walking distance from my home. Yun Yun surpassed my expectations by doing whatever it takes to make my dress look its best, instead of doing what would be the easiest thing to do. My dress had 2 satin layers and 1 chiffon layer. She recommended cutting the train off the bottom most satin layer, doing a 3-point French bustle for the middle satin layer, and doing a 1-point American bustle for the top chiffon layer. This sounded more complicated than what I wanted to deal with, but it looked so much lighter and nicer than the easier alternatives she mocked up for me. My dress had a deep-V neckline in front that I wanted to maintain, but the straps were made for 6' tall models. Bringing up the straps the easiest way by pulling the straps up and cinching it at the top, would've changed my deep-V neckline to a high wide-V neckline. She took the straps in from the top and mid-back near my shoulder blades in order to preserve the deep-V neckline in front. Thank you so much! read more

I went to Yun Yun for an initial fitting and quote and her prices were very reasonable. I had my dress hemmed, cups sewn into the bust, and the bustle sewed, which cost about $200. Yun Yun was friendly and seemed really knowledgeable, so I trusted her advice on how best to do the bustle. The dress was ready a few weeks later and she did a great job. She walked me through how to bustle the dress multiple times and also let me take a video of her doing it. Alterations: My Leanne Marshall dress was long and had far too much fabric for my size. It made for great photos, but you could get lost in it just looking for the opening. Yun Yun was not intimidated by the irregular fabric cut and made the best of it! It came out perfectly and was finally able to walk in it without tripping. She was so speedy! I was worried that the business closures during Covid were going to prevent me from getting my dress altered in the brief 5 week window before my elopement. Yun Yun made sure I got my dress in just 2 weeks! (3 weeks to spare and dance around in it in my apt!). I also made a request that she attempt to make a tie and pocket square from the excess material. She under-promised and over delivered! Both by-products were perfect and we got so many compliments. Safety: I was able to get a slot with her for my wedding outfit just as there was a soft opening during Covid. I purchased my wedding dress from a boutique in the South Bay and honestly did not have the time/energy to go back there for alterations -- I found Yun on yelp and her ratings were amazing! She is incredibly talented and has years of experience for bridal alterations. My wedding dress was a simple Tara Lauren gown and Yun knew exactly how to make me look slim without being too tight. I had three fittings with her and she knew what cut/length to do, she gave me options on the bustles, and she was soooooo accommodating. Any time that I had to come in early or late or change fittings, she was always responsive and available. On my last fitting, I actually forgot my appointment and Yun called me to come in even though her shop was about to close. So thank you Yun for everything! BTW, her pricing is affordable! I was recommened by someone to come to this place to see what I can do about my dress that just wasnt fitting properly. The owner is super nice, patient and honest. She quoted me on how much it would cost for me to get my dress fixed and told me that it wouldnt be worth it. I couldn't WAIT to write this review for Yun Yun. 10 days before I had to get on a plane for my wedding, I bought a new wedding dress because I was disappointed with how the original turned out after alterations at a bridal salon. I called Yun Yun the next day, who picked up the phone right away (outside of her standard hours), scheduled an appointment with me for the same evening, waited for an extra 30 minutes after my appointment time because I was stuck in traffic, and agreed to do my alterations in 6 days. Fortunately my dress didn't need major work, but it did include: shortening, adding a bustle, shortening the straps, attaching the belt. I was so thrilled with the result, and completely delighted by my experience with Yun Yun. She was extremely responsive (I don't think I left a single voicemail), friendly, and flexible, and she did great work.
