My appointment at Veo Optics in the Valencia store was hands down the best experience picking out glasses I have ever had. I had an appointment with Ryan P. and he was so welcoming and supportive! The appointment started off with him asking about my goals and what I'm looking for. We then went around the beautifully laid out store, with him picking out some frames that he thought would look good on me, and me picking out some frames that I wanted to try. We narrowed it down to two frames and I was able to walk around the store and try them out in different lighting. I ended up being narrowing it down to two frames, a Masunaga which I chose and a Lindberg he chose. I ultimately chose the translucent pink/red colored Lindberg that he suggested and I couldn't be more thrilled! I'm so excited for the lens to be manufactured so I can pick it up!!! The arm of my prescription reading/computer specs fell off and reattaching it required soldering, a service my optometrist did not provide and instead recommended I replace the frames. Then I lost the arm itself. I dropped into Veo, where the helpful and charming Ryan P. came to the rescue and suggested he may be able to replace both arms from donated frames. On his day off, he followed up with his team, and sure enough, later I received a call with the good news that a matching pair (from a Japanese designer brand!) fitted my frames and were ready for pick up. After a minor adjustment, they fitted better than the original frames. Bottom line: all of the above exceptional and professional customer service was provided free of charge! In a world where most stores are just shipping out frames (I mean, I like Warby Parker but that's what they do and Lenscrafters now does), to have people you can talk to who are really familiar in how lenses are made and what adjustments can be done... well, that is very hard to find. Also notable is that the store is very cool, but in an authentic way. It's clear that employees like Ryan P. tend to really care. Wow. Amazing customer service. I finally bought glasses as an adult, sized and measured instead of ordered for cheap online. I'm so glad I picked Veo. After buying light, resilient frames, I replaced lenses a couple years later and mentioned they were scuffed up early and the owner extended the warranty on my lenses by a year for free, which I took advantage of the next year. Then the frames broke 5 years later and they let me know could purchase just the broken part, but it may take longer to come due to the frame manufacturer, so they provided a discount on frames that would fit the lenses and offered a loaner pair of frames for the lenses in the meantime for free. I have a pair of prescription glasses that have never been quite right. I love the frames, but the lenses have always been kind of wonky. I have had them remade twice (not at Veo) and still, I don't see well out of them. I was ready to give up on them altogether, but I figured I would stop by one more shop to see if they could fix them. I walked into Veo ready to pay for new lenses to be made, but Ryan took one look at my glasses and told me that I didn't need new lenses, I just needed the frames to be reshaped so that the curvature of the lenses didn't impact my vision. He reshaped them for me on the spot, and voila, they work great now! As a rule of thumb, any mechanic, dentist, or eyeglass store that doesn't try to up-charge me will immediately win my trust. That's exactly what happened here, Veo had an opportunity to sell me new lenses, (because that's what I thought I needed), but instead they solved my problem for free!
