After dining here a couple of times during my time in Prague and really loving how authentic and delicious everything is here, my friend and I decided to venture back to try their galbi, a typical Korean dish that is basically marinated beef. Boy, this was such a bad decision. First of all, if you order anything that requires a grill, they make you order two portions (I'm assuming because it's a hassle to get the grill out and heated). Our two portions were ridiculously small, and each portion was about 290 kc which is absurd. Each portion had maybe three pieces of meat? Which is so unreasonable. Secondly, the meat was really weird. I've grilled galbi numerous times before, as had the friend who was with me, and we've never seen raw galbi like this. The texture was very grainy and the meat was basically all bones... barely any meat. It ended up tasting okay, but that's definitely what galbi is supposed to taste like. The third annoying aspect was that the waiter was being absurdly condescending to us because we weren't Korean. Which is just about the stupidest thing that I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I've experienced racism abroad, that's nothing new. But racism in a restaurant? That's just rude especially because we're paying so much to eat there. The waiter just kept giving my friend and I crap for not being Korean since we asked whether or not it was really two portions because it was one plate with barely any meat and we weren't sure how long we were supposed to grill it.. We also ordered the za jiang mian (not sure of the Korean spelling) which was absurdly overpriced but not bad actually. Too much sauce for my liking, but a good portion to share with a friend also, every single time I've come back, the side dishes get worse. Don't have high hopes for that. tldr; the other normal food and safer choices (bibimbap, udon, etc) are great options. I think some of the other authentic dishes might have been okay, but stay away from the galbi which is absurdly priced and not authentic at all.

We went to the first place near our Airbnb which is the El Gaucho. We didn't know the conversion rate on money but had heard Czech Republic wasn't terribly expensive. Boy were we wrong! We should have known since the place on a Friday night was empty! We ordered one glass of wine each. Both ordered salads, steak filet with veggies. Grand total $225 US dollar. Wow even in America we can get a good streak dinner for almost half. The food was decent but not $225 decent. No bread-nothing extra-nothing warranting the price... just Hello tourist you just got taken. Tourist beware! I told the waiter this is super expensive his response "Our beef comes from America." Our waitress was amazing and explained the menu and actually suggested taking things off so we didn't over order (also suggested we could order as it comes). It was my moms first time at a hotpot place and they were so nice to her and explained the process. Overall the quality of the meat was amazing as was the soup for the hotpots. The salad was pretty standard for what you expect out of these restaurants and it was a great kickoff before the main meal. My friend's wonton soup looked DELICIOUS, I can't wait to try it when I come back! The sweet and sour chicken was a great portion and was soooo flavorful, we were full for hours after.
