My mom has a variety of geriatric concerns and medical issues and they've helped us through all of them. Dr. Gardner is a fantastic, passionate care provider who has always given us time and expert advice, referring us to experts when it's not been in her direct area of expertise. I really appreciate that ability to recognize when a specialist could be helpful. I'm surprised to see so many negative comments about the office staff, since we've had a wonderful experience with all of them. Jackie is the current patient care coordinator and she's been patient, thoughtful, and kind every step of the way. We've never had scheduling or re-scheduling issues. After years of handling my mom's care, I've worked with a lot of medical teams, and theirs has easily been the best. If mobility is an issue, note that their offices are small and accessible from ground-level, with disabled parking in front. It can, at times, be a little tricky finding a parking spot within the block, but other smaller Seattle facilities have the same problem. I'd definitely recommend this location if you're looking for ease of access. They also integrate very well with the rest of the Swedish network (as much as is in their control). Overall, if you're in the area, I strongly recommend you try their facility before you try any others!

Every time I try to make an appointment its booked for months in advance. This is not helpful given that when someone is sick they need to be seen right away. I recently tried to schedule a well visit for my son. They told me that his doctor had left and because he hadn't been in for a visit he would be considered a new patient and they aren't accepting new patients. My family is now switching providers. This place is terrible.

I called my physician's office at Swedish Ballard Tallman that was supposed to have sent the MRI order and they were 100% dismissive. Argued with me that they sent the right order when I wasn't accusing them of anything, was just trying to find out how to move forward to make sure the right order goes through. Straight up hung up on me while I was in the middle of asking a question. I was not rude or blaming anyone when talking to her, simply just trying to figure out what was going on since my insurance company was saying one thing and the physician's office was saying another. Weird way to treat a patient they know is in pain and felt like my physician and his office could not care less about what happened to me. Save your time and money, go to UW med or Polyclinic across the street.

Feeling sort of funky, and not in the George Clinton way, I searched desperately for a new GP. I'm hoofing it these days and my new doc needed to be walking distance from our digs in Ballard. After looking online I found a physician using the website search on the Swedish hospital website. The office is located on Market St. in Ballard and the team there is spectacular, maybe the nicest, most efficient group I've encountered in my years of doctor visits. From the front desk team's efficiency, to the nurse and finally my doctor (Dr. Deans-rock star) every step was effortless, prompt and courteous. Thanks guys, for everything!

She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.

After searching through the first page of my "in network" providers, I quickly got tired at the prospect of sifting through 50 more pages. So, I did what any reasonable person would do when it comes to finding a doc...I closed my eyes, threw a dart and picked a name. On a serious note, Dr. Friedmann was voted best doc in 2002, so I figured like wine, you can only get better with age. I went in, he did his thing, and I walked out. Overall, a pretty painless experience (aside from the blood draw). He's a nice, warm, fuzzy guy. Two thumbs up.

Lucky me, I ended up getting an appointment with Dr. Friedmann. He took so much time and care to try to understand the issue I was having despite my inability to articulate it. He made sure to understand my overall health, activity levels, recent travels and all of the other outside factors that might be causing my pain. I have recently felt so rushed by all of the doctors I've seen but Dr. Friedmann made me feel like I was his only patient. While we never got to the root cause of my pain, he made sure to rule out any possibly dangerous causes and provided me with a prescription and treatment plans to try. Then the most amazing thing happened...I got an unsolicited phone call from him 2 days after my appointment to see how I was doing!!! I'm feeling much better now thanks to Dr. Friedmann. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in search of a smart, thoughtful and genuinely caring doctor.
