I had tried booking in January with another stylist, Gio, but our schedules didn't align. I had worked with Gio before at another hair salon in Berkeley and she is the sweetest! I found CS Beauty Salon through their Instagram page and was redirected to their online booking platform. I reached out to Carina first before booking, just to see if she was still accepting new clients. The appointment had been filled by the time she got back to me, but Carina was nice enough to squeeze me in for an appointment on another day, that same week. There is parking in the back of their building, but it looked a little tight to go through and there is a lot of oncoming traffic to turn into, so I just parked at Dollar Tree and walked over. The salon looks remodeled and everything is brand new and clean. I believe they opened about 3 years ago? There are complimentary snacks and a coffee bar for you to enjoy. Carina was easy to talk to and she is very friendly and welcoming. I appreciate her reaching out and communicating with me when she was running behind with her current client. My appointment included a wash, cut, and blow out; I opted for long layers and face framing. She did a great job and I'm very satisfied with my cut! I got sick on the day of my appointment, but called ahead of time in the day to let them know I was…read moresick. They said they would charge me a cancellation fee even though I was sick. So I said I'd come in sick with a mask on to my appointment in order for them not to charge a cancellation fee. They said I couldn't come into my appointment either because I'm sick. So basically they won't let me go to my appointment, but they also won't waive the fee for keeping me out for being sick. Wtf? These people are seriously unprofessional and rude. Any other salon would've understood and simply waive the fee like a real business who treats their customers well. Not to mention my first experience there when the employees gossiped about other clientele the whole time to each other and then smile to your face as you fill their pockets, wtf was that about and why are they doing this in-front of customers in the chair?! I really tried to give this place another chance, I had hopes for this place based on reviews, I came to realize later a lot of those nice yelp reviews came from their friends, yes I can tell. There are definitely better salons out there that are authentic and courteous and I was lucky to find a better one with higher standards for how they run their business and treat people and been with them ever since. Happy to ditch the ritzy place, no room for the fake and greedy.

She duplicated a Jane Fonda do from a photo perfectly. Sadly, it didn't make my 84 year old wrinkled wrinkles face look like Ms. Fonda's. I goofed asking her to make it shorter thinking to prolong the time between trims to save money. After a night's sleep on it, I couldn't duplicate the fabulous style. Next time I'll go with her first instinct also known as experience and expertise. She does a great job and is very enthusiastic and bubbly to boot. Noticing her glamorous long lovely do and red lipstick added to my trust even with my days to attempt glamour long past. The cost @ below $40 is probably pretty reasonable these days too. I recommend Teresa and Q Salon. Topping off that nurturing by going across the plaza for a Xinia's pastry is my idea of a big day now.
