They said I couldn't come into my appointment either because I'm sick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So basically they won't let me go to my appointment, but they also won't waive the fee for keeping me out for being sick. Wtf? [[HIGHLIGHT]]These people are seriously unprofessional and rude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Any other salon would've understood and simply waive the fee like a real business who treats their customers well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not to mention my first experience there when the employees gossiped about other clientele the whole time to each other and then smile to your face as you fill their pockets, wtf was that about and why are they doing this in-front of customers in the chair?![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really tried to give this place another chance, I had hopes for this place based on reviews, I came to realize later a lot of those nice yelp reviews came from their friends, yes I can tell. There are definitely better salons out there that are authentic and courteous and I was lucky to find a better one with higher standards for how they run their business and treat people and been with them ever since. Let me start off by saying I love this place now! One day I was just yelping hair salons and Ritzy Reuben came up close to my area and had great reviews and I decided to make an appointment. Best choice I could have made for my hair lol! I made an appointment the same day. I walk into Ritzy Reuben and let me tell you it is such a CUTE place I get such a good vibe from there. There is plenty of parking and it's in a great location. I rarely write reviews but I have to definitely support local businesses who are incredible with their craft AND Ritzy Reuben happens to be one of those places. I came here after my best friend and her cousin had recommended me to this place. Soooooo... I got my hair done with Tati. She is super nice and personable. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and what would look similar for me and my skin tone. Tati and Liz came up with a strategy and off we went on the four hour journey to some fresh color! The time and attention to detail and quality of products used was exceptional. What I really loved about the whole experience is how kind everyone was and how Liz, always checked in on Tati and gave her guidance and expertise to make sure the execution would compliment my hair and skin tone. To me, knowing that the teacher is always committed to the student shows a lot professionalism BUT also shows how committed they are in helping each other grow. Before I keep digressing, let me just say my hair came out fresh AF! BTW forgot to mention the amazing decor and art in the establishment, took me back to my younger years (Sandlot pictures, Notorious BIG quotes, Frida frames etc). Do I recommend Ritzy? Yes! I was recommended to Ritzy Reuben by my high school friend Maureen. I've been looking at their page and was amazed with their work so today I finally got my hair done since my bday is next week. Location: it's in Point Annex, really quiet neighborhood. We were able to find parking without any problems. Salon: I was the first customer so when I got there Liz had just opened. When Liz opened her door, I was just wowed because it's a little salon but it was so stylish and of course super clean. It was definitely chic. Staff: Liz and Tianna? Sorry if I got Liz's assistant's name wrong but they were so nice and welcoming. First thing they did was offer me something to drink. Tianna prepped and Liz got started. Great advice on how to take care of your hair. Will do there best to achieve your hair goals depending on your hair type. I have done the lighter balayage when I first went in with low lights. I'm going to start off with saying that in I believe it was 2009 or 2010 I was on the search for some HAIR-apy! My hair was so damaged from constantly using heat on it and every time I would get a trim it would never help. And I would tell the stylist to cut all the unhealthy ends off but it was never enough like they were scared for some reason. I was just devestated and was missing my curls being bouncy and actually curly and not wavy and than nothing. But that all changed once I was introduced to Liz! I tell you this girl, she knows what shes doing. I went to her and told her I needed a cut badly! And she just came out and told me I needed about 5 inches cut because that's how much of damaged hair I had. So I told her to go right on and do it! And she did even colored my hair too and I felt like a whole new woman. It was my first BIG cut but I loved it because it brought my hair back to life! I'm so happy I know of Liz! She did my hair last time and when It didn't come out exactly the way I wanted since at the time my hair was so dark and I had virgin hair. However, she worked with my hair to bring it it up to what I wanted since my hair is so black! She did a perfect job!!!! Recently, I had to go to another stylist because I needed my hair done ASAP and I REGRET IT SO MUCH. They did not match up to Liz even if they were some high end salon. Im never leaving liz!!!
