I have been going to Z Brothers for every car I've ever had as long as I can remember. It is without question the best car repair place in and around the Mt Kisco area. They don't publicize their business and that's probably a mistake. Their prices are fair and they don't try to rip you off. Although the owner Joe tragically passed away last year, the family still runs it and they have the best by far mechanic around, Luis. Not a big fancy shop, but who needs that? My muffler fell off of my car and I had to tie it up with a clothes hanger. I rolled into Z Brothers and they fixed it right up on the spot at no charge. I've been going back for all of my car repairs since. They're friendly, honest, and they never talk down to me or make me feel like I don't know my own vehicle. I recently had the unfortunate experience of a breakdown in Westchester. It was incredibly stressful but luckily I was towed to Z Bros in Mt Kisco. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. Luis the mechanic knew exactly what the problem was and told me what parts he needed to order and how long it would take to fix it. His transparency was unprecedented compared to most of my mechanic experiences. The car was fixed within a week and now runs smoothly. If you speak to the owner, you may be understood. If you speak with the mechanic, Louis, he will pretend not to understand you unless it's about money. Paid $250 after they quoted $150.. and two days in the shop for them to install a valve. They never did the work and charged me (asked for cash). I had to take it to another mechanic to confirm the work was never done. They blamed someone else for not ordering a part, but did not refund my money. I am going to have to call the BBB and all other sources to get my money back. read more

Z-Brothers Auto Repair is the most honest car repair shop that I have ever experienced. I have been doing business with them for the past 10 years or so. I also know many other satisfied motorists who had their cars serviced there for many years. Unlike many other, including chain repair shops, this mechanic shop has never recommend repair work that was not really necessary. I decided to leave a review because of some of the other not-so-flattering reviews. My experience has been positive. This is not a red-carpet shop, so don't expect that. Anytime you can get a car repaired for under $300, you are ahead of the game. Luis has been a great find for me. His English is not the best, and you need to really take the time to make sure you have an understanding of the plan. Is he going to call you before doing any labor-intensive work? Are you OK with him doing it and telling you what it needed after? You have to work out those details in advance. All in all, a good, honest mechanic. And THAT is hard to find these days! read more
