I am updating my original review of the Dog Wizard Tampa, as I was pretty excited and hopeful the…read moreday I wrote it which was the first day as soon as my trainer Deidre dropped off my dog Brody. That was on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 and it seemed that Brody was following commands and not being aggressive, but the next morning, I realized that even following the trainers commands and suggestions exactly as I understood them. Brody was not only not trained, but was also experiencing trachea and breathing issues. I have medical documentation to prove that. I will say Deidre my trainer was great with communication and seemed to be very caring and sweet towards Brody. She was always available to respond when I reached out however, this is my first time doing a boarding train program and I did not ask enough questions. That's why I'm leaving this review to try to help others. I went there for the halfway visit I saw Brody was not answering commands and was still very reactive in front of me so speaking with Deidre she suggested the E collar would be more beneficial to Brody being that he's a rescue and extremely reactive. I paid an additional $500 for the E collar and he stayed an additional week so he was there a total of three weeks again when he came back I had to take him to the vet and he's being treated for trachea and breathing issues because of the E collar and lead leash combination, every dog is different. This is how my specific experience has gone. I have been respectful and transparent with this business. I explained to them that I was a single mom on disability because of very serious health issues and I needed to take out a loan to pay for this training and begged for a discount which they did give me a $300 discount I was very happy and hopeful and did not mind paying for this training for the next two years as long as Brody wasn't dragging me down the street in my weekend physical state because of illness. I reached out to the owner himself, Brian Clegg to ask for a refund and explain my situation he wouldn't speak to me directly. He was very defensive about his employees and is not willing to refund my money, even though my dog is injured and will probably not be able to wear a e collar or lead leash going forward. I am not asking for anything more than what I have paid. I'm not trying to make a profit off of this and I want to let everyone know that for my specific Dog this did not work and the company is being very combative throwing in my face that they gave me a $300 discount and not trying to work with me other than offering to take the E collar back which negates three weeks of training altogether. I'm not discouraging anyone from doing business with this Board and train or any other. I am simply sharing my experience because if like me you are financially and medically deficient, and you expect to have a real difference with your dog when he gets home like I did and did not see a difference on top of a new injury. I understand additional training is needed to keep up with the program, but my specific situation hinders that because of the E collar and lead leash and my dogs current medical issues and still the business will not stand behind their product and help in my specific situation. I just want to be transparent so that no one else is in my position having to now seek the legal system to help because the business will not. This review does not allow me to upload my before and after videos but you can clearly see in my picture with date and time that Brody is pulling and yanking me down very aggressively after 3 weeks of training and this screen shot of google search for lead leash and educator is exactly what my vet told me but the business and Jonathan the manager say this isn't factual and discredit my vet they are being very hostile and not helpful at all towards me because the training didn't work and my dog is injured. I am sure the response to this review will mirror what I am saying. Beware and ask specific question and make sure to ask if they guarantee the results in writing

I am bitterly disappointed in the corporate people (Jason Watson and Andrew Kohler) at Dog Wizard…read more When my dog came back after the 2 week boot camp it was impressed upon me by the trainer Dalton how important it was that I use the e-collar and that it was critical to use it so her training was not interrupted. The e-collar stopped working that night. I had to wait over a month to get a replacement e-collar when I should have had the replacement the next day!! How can they not have back up e-collars in stock?? As a result, it was extremely hard to retrain her when we had to go that long without the reinforcement. Dalton tried his best to accommodate us and keep us informed on what was going on, but Jason and Andrew had Dalton and I jumping through all these hoops asking for more information (serial #'s, etc.) when they should have asked for the information all at once instead of over the course of several phone calls. We were both being strung along for no reason. I could have gotten one from Amazon in a day but they wouldn't reimburse me for that! My other complaint is that I was told that I could go to Dog Wizard's Facebook page every other day and see videos of how the training was going. Instead I had to wait over a week and a half before I could see my first video because the website person didn't have her act together. Dalton was nice enough to send me the raw footage of the videos directly to me and I still only got to see 4 videos, two of them duplicates. This is total incompetence on Jason and Andrew's part! What kind of business are they running?? They definitely have no idea what good customer service entails! On the positive side, I was very impressed with Dalton and his professionalism. I gave him a list of behaviors that I wanted him to train Maddie and he accomplished all of them. Dalton just needs to get a job with another dog training company because Dog Wizard sucks! Not once did I get a call from Jason or Andrew apologizing for the delay! I paid $3400 for this boot camp and other than Dalton I was not impressed with the staff!

A Cautionary Experience - Please Visit Before You Commit…read more ["Dog recovering after eating toxic material at boarding facility" In the news, January 2025. See image in post for link] I rarely leave critical reviews, but as a devoted pet parent, I feel a responsibility to share my experience at Puppy Manor in hopes it helps others make an informed decision. While I was initially drawn in by the promise of open land and splash pads, what I observed in reality was quite different. Yes, there is a splash pad--but I also saw multiple dogs standing on a large, dry asphalt area as the afternoon heat began rising. I expressed concern and was reassured the staff wets the ground as it gets hotter. Still, it was concerning, especially in Florida's climate. There's also a significant grassy area where dogs play, which sounds ideal--until you're pulling burrs, burdock seeds, and foxtails out of your dog's fur every day. While I want my dog to have fun like anyone else's, I also believe daycare should be both safe and reasonably maintained. There was no sign that the dogs' time in muddy, debris-filled fields was limited, nor any clear effort to improve the space. Despite being told the facility was "under renovation," I saw little evidence of actual improvements. The outdoor drop-off and pickup has a very industrial and dated look to it. On one visit, I waited with another dog owner for nearly five minutes or longer--no one was at the front, and no one responded to us. We knocked on doors with no luck. Only after the other owner called the facility's phone number did a staff member (Vince) appear and tell us she (he) had been making dinner. Meanwhile, we knew the dogs were crated and ready to go--there is simply no excuse for no one being available to release pets to their owners. That experience alone left a lasting impression. The staff dynamic is inconsistent. Brianna, while sweet, often seemed distracted and disconnected in conversation. Vince, on the other hand, was kind, helpful, and clearly loves the animals in her care. I truly appreciated the adorable photos she sent me--it made me feel, at least for a moment, that my pup was happy and being looked after. The pictures were so cute. But even with those thoughtful touches, my gut just didn't feel right the longer I continued bringing my dog there. I never felt fully at ease leaving my dog here, and to me, that says everything. It reminded me of the uneasy feeling you get when leaving your child somewhere you're not fully confident in. I've taken my dog to several daycares across Tampa Bay and beyond--this one gave me the least peace of mind. Before enrolling, I strongly recommend stopping by unannounced, outside of the 1:00-3:00 PM "nap time." Ask yourself: are the dogs lounging calmly in the advertised "acres of land" with attentive staff, or is a single person sitting in a chair watching over ten or more dogs? My observations leaned heavily toward the latter. Also, be sure to ask detailed questions about pricing. While Puppy Manor does not offer grooming services, they charge $30 for a very basic bath--no brushing or extras. Even with that option, I still found myself bathing my dog almost every day because of how dirty she came home. Their prices are not significantly lower than other, far better-kept facilities. I even reinjured my back twice just trying to wash and rinse my medium-haired dog after daycare. She sleeps in bed with me, and I simply couldn't bring her in the house in the condition she was in after pickup. I truly admire pet parents who don't mind muddy paws on their carpets or furniture--but for me, home is a place of comfort and cleanliness. While I absolutely know she's a dog, I still expect her to come home somewhat clean. Lastly, I encourage potential clients to view online reviews and photos with a healthy dose of skepticism. My direct experience didn't align with what I saw online, and it made me question whether the glowing reviews were from verified pet owners. Puppy Manor looks nothing like the curated images on Google. If you love your pet as much as I do mine, I sincerely recommend exploring other options. Cost matters--but so does cleanliness, communication, and the peace of knowing your dog is truly cared for.

Beware of having your dog here for day care or boarding. I trusted the team to care for my dog but…read moreshe was placed in a kennel with FRP that has a toxic material in it that is potentially deadly if ingested. The boards were hung inside the kennel where my dog or any dog could chew it. My dog unfortunately did chew the last night of her stay and became more and more lethargic during the day after ingesting this material in the night. The manager on duty the morning she sustained her injuries assured me she would call me if her condition changed or worsened. She did not call me and had said she was off at 1 pm. I called just after 1 pm and she informed me that our beautiful and sweet girl was lethargic, tongue swollen and hanging out of her mouth and that she was unable to get her tongue in her mouth, it was so swollen. She did not call me or alert me in anyway that her condition deteriorated and so severely. I asked her, Jessie, to take her immediately to the Gandy Pet Hospital and she did not. She told me it probably was nothing serious and not to worry about it. I called, texted and literally begged her to take her to Gandy Pet hospital a couple blocks from Puppy Manor. She did not- she never did- told me she was off and to contact the other manager. It was over four hours later that Heather took Elsa, our husky, to Gandy Pet Hospital and then was almost immediately transferred to VEG on Dale Mabry. I was flying back to Tampa and was told my girl may or may not make it before I arrived back on my flight. Fortunately, she did survive and she was almost dead when I arrived. I was told by the doctors she had severe ulcers in her mouth and she was likely not going to survive. They worked so well with here, life saving measures and transferred her to Fetch Intensive care hospital in Brandon. The doctors here kept saying this was not from chewing plastic- they she had some kind of chemical poisoning or electrocution from her injuries and state. I kept asking questions of the regional manager and then learned about the styrene toxic and poisonous chemical in her Kennel which is what she chewed. The Veterinarian was able to treat her and she had a very long, lengthy and costly recovery of over $16,000. I have all the itemized receipts I can post here. The owner paid $4000 and waved her $1800 boarding fee- leaving me with the balance - just over $10,000 and a very sick girl which was not guaranteed to survive. She did survive and it was a very long healing process with nine medications per day for about a week, feeding her through a feeding tube that was placed in her neck, through her esophagus and into her stomach. The FRP boards with styrene in them are no longer hanging in the kennels and I would not trust this location to care for your dog. The agreement they claim I signed, even though there is no signature on it- maximum to pay for a dog $500 or the cost of a dog. Very disturbing and I am blessed to still have my precious girl, Elsa.

I think he secretly wishes for me to leave so Terry can come over and take him on walks. I love getting email updates and pictures after every single visit so I know that he's doing okay. At your meet and greet they'll provide you with a lock box, which makes it super easy since you don't have to worry about leaving the key out or getting the key back once you return. Booking is a breeze- everything is online! You select what kind of service you want and what time slots you need and you're done. You also create a profile with specific instructions for your pet- feeding times, walk schedules, where food is located, etc. I can't recommend Unleashed Tampa Bay or Terry more!

We had never let our girl stay at home alone ever. If we went, she went. She was our daughter, still is. It was time for immediate action. I knew her numbers were not good and we walked in greeted and sorted to the absolute fullest by every member of the staff. They brought us and our girl back immediately. Dr Moses knew she couldn't stand and picked her up without hesitation to weigh her. They drew blood and started IV access right away. I told Dr Moses I needed to know every option available because if I could save her, we would do anything. I said I need honesty in every aspect, no matter the outcome. Her bloodwork came back after they had settled us into a private room with our girl, Karma. I saw the numbers she had in her hand. She didn't even need to explain. I had no idea how our amazing baby held on so long. She did it for us to be ready. My husband said he would never put our girl down and was adamant about it since we found her. There is something about Dr Moses that is real, raw, and beautiful. You could feel her energy and her sorrow for us without having to speak. I've never seen my husband understand so quickly what needed to be done. I told him it's painless. Dr Moses stepped in and explained it beautifully. She told us to take as much time as we needed and to push the button when we were ready. No rushing. A beautiful time spent with our baby telling her she was the greatest thing to ever happen to us. That she fought so hard. She taught us so many life lessons. That love is god mode. I told my husband we needed to act somewhat quickly before any seizures could begin. We pressed the button and she came right in with the medications and told us we can stay right where we were on the floor with our girl. She worked around us and so quickly our baby was no longer suffering. I thought this would be the moment I shattered, my husband would lose his mind. We didn't. She was sleeping, but gone. I felt her looking at us from the door giving us the biggest blanket of love we have ever felt. She told us to take as much time as we needed. Literally. Throughout this process, every single member of the team from the front of the house, techs, and our angel sent Dr Moses all spoke calm and could feel our pain and honestly they felt it too. They all said they were so sorry and offered any kind of relief. I work CVICU. I see a lot of death and we try to become almost cold towards it but we still feel every single death. VEG ER in South Tampa is filled with empaths. Burnout is real. My husband and I are so thankful and grateful for every single member of the team. Dr Moses, there is something so beautiful inside of you. I don't know if you had trauma as a child. I feel you need to know you are seen. You are loved. You are cherished. We will be forever grateful for your honesty, your compassion, your sense of empathy towards our situation. You now hold such a huge part of our souls. We are eternally grateful for what you do. We have broken down a few times just knowing Karma is no longer here in physical form but as soon as we got to the car to leave, we heard her adorable "heyyy" that she used to do when she was always the happiest. We came home and heard her distinct footsteps. We are better than ok thanks to you Dr Moses. Please know you are so valuable and appreciated. I am happy you chose to become a vet. We would never be ok without your support. Karma is at peace, so we can be too. You are the absolute best and we are eternally grateful for you. To add: she was just about to turn 16

Sunny was being seen for a possible ear infection, and Christina, our vet tech, was absolutely wonderful. She listened carefully to all my concerns, explained the next steps clearly, and provided a detailed estimate before any treatment. She treated Sunny with so much kindness, giving her plenty of treats and pets to keep her comfortable during the exam. Dr. Adair Duvall was equally fantastic.
