Definitely a place to stop and sit and enjoy a gelato. The server/cashier was friendly and paid attention to each customer. It seems quite busy, however the server was efficient. You can try the different flavors and mix and match them as well. I got the chocolate orange with the blood orange. Amazing flavors in both and great together. A gem of a place for sure. I loved finally visiting this owned by Mazzaro's gelato spot! From my understanding it has been open for five months. The interior and exterior is delightful and transported me to a cafe in Italy! I adored the orange accents and in my opinion it is nicely appointed, bright and cheerful. The staff was most helpful. The assortment of gelato flavors was wonderful. Coffee/espresso/affogato in addition to fresh made daily brioche is available as well. Enjoy your gelato the Italian way with a gelato stuffed brioche or gelato panini. If you've never had bread and ice cream like the Europeans do then you're missing out! Everything was delicious! I loved that they had seasonal flavor as well s some non-traditional ones. Excellent Gelato! We stopped in for some gelato after shopping at Mazarro's. This cafe is right across the parking lot from Mazzaro's Italian market. I was transported back to Italy visiting this lovely cafe. The gelato is delicious and dare I say just as good as Italy's. The staff is lovely and will give you a sample taste if you'd like. They also have Gelato Panini, Brioche filled w/ gelato, Granita, Affogato, pints to go, coffee and espresso. The shop is spotless and cheerful but not big. There aren't many tables to sit at in this small cafe. Parking is plentiful here. read more

Stopped in to try their gelato after food shopping in Mazzaro's. Store is on Mazzaro's property. Place is bright and Inviting. Small seating area. Many flavors of gelato to pick from. You can try a tiny sample. Some of the available flavors were pistachio, limoncello, melon, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate-dubai, tiramisu and passion fruit. The pistachio and blueberry cheesecake were excellent. They also serve several types of coffees The staff were friendly and very helpful. Plenty of parking available. read more

Zagara Gelato is so good! They just opened recently and I knew I had to make a trip. It's right next to Mazzaros and Casa Di Mazzaro. Go to all them and take pics along the way. Super fun. Came in on a Friday. It's open til 5. It's only open til 3 on Saturdays and Closed on Sundays. So I think weekdays are best. Saturdays for sure would be busy! Tried so many diff flavors of sorbets. They were so tasty. Finally decided on the tiramisu gelato. So amazing and perfectly tiramisu. I shared it and we both loved it. Definitely a great place, & so cute inside and out. Thrilled to have an authentic granita(!) and gelato place in St Pete! Came to check this place out for their soft opening. The creamiest gelato in the affogato w/ the nocciola (hazelnut) gelato! Even better than what I had in Taormina sicilia! The pesca/peach flavored granita was not artificial tasting...will be getting that with a brioche on my next visit! read more

The Zagara opened a few months ago. The space is vibrant, clean and welcoming. The staff encourage customers to try samples on various flavors, knowledgeable about the brand and offer if any guests would like to purchase any take home pints. The menu choices are great and seasonal flavors are exceptional i.e. pumpkin! I had an affogato with pumpkin and it was nice presentation and tasty! read more

My daughter and I stopped in after shopping at Mazzaro's. The gentleman working behind the counter was very friendly and informative since this was our first time in. I do wish he would have let us know that it is very common in Sicily to get your gelato on a brioche. We may have split that. However, now we have something to look forward to when we go back We tasted several different flavors. The Sorbet and Granita they have so many flavors that was impossible to try them all in one visit. We opted for the strawberry gelato. We had delicious gelato . My Bischoff gelato was delicious and even had pieces of the Bischoff which was so amazing . I had placed inside of a brioche bun it was so fresh and delicious. The staff was great and so helpful in explaining the menu . My husband enjoyed his M&M marshmallows gelato on his brioche bun .Im so happy they opened because I love me some good gelato can't wait to come back and try other items in the menu . read more

We went to this new granita and gelato place (opened august 11)! My partner and I went to Sicily this summer where we had tons of granita so we were so excited to try this place out as it's the ONLY place in the area offering granita! The mixed berry granita was so delicious especially with the pillowy brioche to dip. The gentleman at the front was making sure everyone knew the concept behind granita which I think was super considerate and helpful. They were also eager to have us sample the flavors! They are still testing things out such as flavors and inventory but there are such amazing people running this new shop I can't wait to come back! You'll feel transported to Italy the second you walk in! read more

Yummy espresso!!! Decent size latte for a great price. Stopped in here after Christmas shopping at Casa Di Mazzaro. They have such a variety of gelato and granita. It was a bit early for dessert for me, but will definitely be back. The staff were super friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there! I was dying to come here after seeing a few influencers try the new gelato place by Mazzarros (an iconic local italian market). I had the gelato panini with pistachio gelato, it was warm, crunchy on the outside, and perfectly soft and delectable on the inside. The gelato felt like a tease so I had to go back and get a gelato cup of dubai chocolate (incredible btw!!!). It was so good, I even got a pint to go. The service was superb, everyone there was very kind, and luckily no line! Its a small place with no seats, just small tables, so if you want to sit you will have to take it to the car or walk over to mazzarros outdoor picnic tables. read more

I got a great cup of coffee here. The back story is important... I just went into Mazzaros which was very busy as usual. I wanted a coffee but it would be 30 mins wait. So I left. Zagara is part of the whole little Italy across the parking lot from Mazzaro. I popped in hoping they might do a coffee as well as gelato. They did. Delicious! So happy. Lovely seating area outside. Stopped in for a sweet indulgence -- gelato and sorbet. I don't like having to decide between so many delicious looking flavors so I opted on their largest cup so I could eat 3 at once! The young man at the counter was very friendly and didn't hurry me (no one was waiting). I opted for the chocolate peanut butter stracciatella, chocolate Nutella, and the mixed berry sorbet.
